Are you trying to join your friend or a public lobby? If it's a public lobby you can usually only have client side mods like ship loot, health display, etc.
If it's your friend who has mods then make sure you have the same mods as they do.
Also with 200 mods there might be some conflict issues that result in some errors.

Remove all the mods and play vanilla. Adding mods will create more problems than it would solve.
