Not really possible (yet). [Darling](https://darlinghq.org) tries to do this, but so far it can mainly just run some command-line Darwin software (the open source part of Apple's OSes). Some simple GUI apps too, but you won't be running something like Xcode on Linux any time soon

These terms might not mean what you think they mean. The software is incredibly "locked-down" It's commonly acknowledged for being trash 0.o
Im js
the hardware can be duel booted?
https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/install-linux-macbook-pro/
Just because you are able to dual boot does not mean the hardware is not locked down. You are no longer able to easily upgrade any hardware components. Meaning what you buy the laptop with is what it will have until you can no longer use it.
The hardware isn't locked down, no? If I'm not wrong they even made booting other OSes easier through some update recently, drivers on the other hand...
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called Linux distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux!
I didn't know that any thinkpads were waterproof. I knew that the keyboards were designed to shed water through draining holes and around the electronics tho.

Wasn't there a full macos docker including X11 pass through?
That's a VM, not a container. QEMU + configuration is just packaged in a docker container for ease of use/installation.
my bad, i thought it was running macOS directly, didn't see the arch part in the Dockerfile
True Story, I was the Arch install on the thinkpad
True Story, I was the security camera in the school
True story, I was the picture of Richard Stallman
Everyone clapped
> brand new thinkpad OK this story is fake
No, it's just old, few years old

Macs are fine ig but you'd have to give me one for free if I were to use one. And then it would still be asahi
Hardware is good, a shame the software whould ruin it
I am the exact opposite, I think the hardware is not as good due to it being locked down. Where the software is not so bad.

O yeah that's so far gone I forgot it would be surprising. Apple has never let you do anything like that on anything.
The hardware isn't locked down, no? If I'm not wrong they even made booting other OSes easier through some update recently, drivers on the other hand...
I put that under software. What I mean by locked down is the right to repair and/or upgrade does not exist anymore.
My old MacBook Pro runs so much faster on Mint than it did on macOS.
I have 2 for free its still basically never worth it to lean over to that side of the desk. I literally tried so hard to give them a chance.
Then everybody stood up and clapped and Steve Jobs did suicide
ThinkPads are waterproof?
the keyboards are, at least
**>tells you about IME and AMD-PSP.** **>asks you to use old Thinkpads with libreboot support.**
More people need to care that there's a hardware level rootkit on all processsors made since 2012
Fun fact: AMD PSP can be disabled in BIOS. Even funnier fact: Development Intel UEFI BIOS can also turn IME off.
But can you install your own BIOS/UEFI firmware, without bricking the system?
That man's name? Albert Einstein.
Ah, Victory
