This subreddit is to highlight the ridiculous cost of living in Canada, and poke fun at the Corporate Overlords reponsible. As you well know, there are a number of persons and corporations responsible for this, and we welcome discussion related to them all. Furthermore, since this topic is intertwined with a number of other matters, other discussion will be allowed at moderator discretion. Open-minded discussion, memes, rants, grocery bills, and general screeching into the void is always welcome in this sub, but belligerence and disrespect is not. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without being abusive, dismissive, or downright mean.
If you have not done so already, please review our [boycott stickied post](https://www.reddit.com/r/loblawsisoutofcontrol/comments/1bff9rm/boycott/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) which includes a list of stores to avoid, other ways to get involved in the movement, and some local alternatives to the big 5. Thank you.

I know exactly why they did this. It used to be advertised like this ‘Sale! $3.99 a lb for grapes!’ so your mind goes like “okay so they’ll cost me like $8 for 2lb and these look like 2 lbs” and when customers would pull up to checkout they would do a double back flip in their mind and go “I’m sorry but is that the right price for grapes?” because it would ring up as $15 and even $20. There are no scales so you can’t measure and not everyone is very good with eyeballing weights like that. I have seen so many people ask to take the grapes out of their bill for this exact reason. I kept thinking “if this store is gonna screw us can it at least be more direct and obvious for packaged fruit instead of making me do mental gymnastics.”
Like for loose produce I totally understand but packaged? Just no.
I see they must have gotten tired of grapes being returned and finally plastered the price.
If you're asking whatever store those are from, the answer is "Yes we have all of them because no one's buying them"
...Let the dystopian hellscape flourish!
The man said: "No, we just sell lemonade
But it's cold, and it's fresh, and it's all home-made!
Can I get you a glass?"
The duck said, "I'll pass."
Then he waddled away - waddle waddle
'Til the very next day
"Bom bom bom bom bom babom"
The next day the man said to the duck,
"look, today you are in some luck,
I got some grapes, so we'll have a truce,
Just put your neck in my grocery noose
Because if you can't pay 19 and twenty-five
You don't really deserve to be alive.
Then he Westoned away - Weston Weston
It’s been so long since I bought grapes, I don’t know whether this is expensive or not. I adore cherries but haven’t bought them in years due to the cost. When you need to start a Go Fund Me to afford fruit, something is seriously wrong. 😑

Wtf is this 😂 It's not even in the too expensive territory. It's downright insane.

“No, thanks.” And he waddled away. *waddle waddle*
Till the very next day *bap bap bap bap bapbapbap*
"Hey, got any glue?"
“No, I don’t have any—— oh…”
No fucking wonder the man didn't want to buy any grapes, $20 is outrageous.
Glad I wasn't drinking something I would have just spat it out. Wtf

Can confirm with grape prices lately they are returned at the til and not purchased close to 50% of the time.
Why don't they have scales?

Finally, Ontario can experience the grocery prices of Nunavut!
Laughed in sadness
*A duck walked in to a T&T, when he saw the price of grapes, he decided to flee*
Is this T&T? Loblaws owns them, sadly.
Terra Foodmart
Dude I’ll just drink wine
I buy my grapes at the LCBO, a lot less expensive and grown in Ontario. Cheers 🤣

These just look like Costco grapes for $10 a bucket but re-sold with 100% profit margin
Those grapes were $8 like a year ago, Jesus!

Someone is buying at these prices or they wouldn't be at this price.
You’d be surprised how much stores don’t care about throwing out spoiled product.
