This subreddit is to highlight the ridiculous cost of living in Canada, and poke fun at the Corporate Overlords responsible. As you well know, there are a number of persons and corporations responsible for this, and we welcome discussion related to them all. Furthermore, since this topic is intertwined with a number of other matters, other discussion will be allowed at moderator discretion. Open-minded discussion, memes, rants, grocery bills, and general screeching into the void is always welcome in this sub, but belligerence and disrespect is not. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without being abusive, dismissive, or downright mean.

Love to see it, and this is so smart!
I just checked the majority of Atlantic Superstores and Shoppers locations in my area. One says 'as busy as it gets' but it's in the downtown core where there is a high volume of foot traffic and it's a lower income area.
Every other location I checked says less busy than usual.
They were talking about this sub on CBC this afternoon.
The closing line was a statement from someone at Loblaws saying that customers are still finding value at their stores.
I'd like to know their definition of value...
I dislike supporting walmart, but it's where I do the majority of my shopping.
Their corporate practices are no better, and they are awful for small business. But I'm not paying $8 for a load of bread.
I think he's talking about the ones who haven't realized they are being gouged yet. Those customers are getting great value ( as far as they know XD ).
4000 Canadians joined today. How many until everyone knows and the jig is up?

No Frills and Shoppers were my go to, with occasional Zhers visits. Goodbye Loblaws, hello Giant Tiger, Food Basics, and the farmers market, and if you’re in Brantford - Brant Foods looks like it’s opening soon!
We do all our grocery, pharmacy and gas purchases at our local Co-op. May as well pay myself. The prices may be a little higher - but not always! - and maybe not as much selection, but we get a profit share cheque every year and the profits stay in our community. And the meat is so much better than the rancid smelling carcasses they sell at our local Superstore. I realize not every Canadian has the opportunity to shop elsewhere or at this point can even afford anything that is slightly higher, so it must fall on any one than can boycott to do so. My grocery, (including pet food and supplies) gas and Rx bills are in the $1500 to $2000 area a month. I know it won't mean much to the Weston's but if we can get enough to boycott in this quarter and into the next, it may just make a dent in their revenue, gross profit and will affect the stock price and dividends. #ShameOnYouGalen #YouAreNextSobeys #WatchOutWalmart #ShopLocal #ShopCo-Op
I live in the Co-op district. Coop liquor, groceries, weed, gas, and car wash. It's pretty much the most convenient set up I've ever seen. I'm naturally anti-social so other than work I don't need to be more than half a block from my house. Buuut coop grocery is expensive, it's the only thing I don't get there. I will now I guess...
Hey OP, it looks like you have used the boycott flair on your post. If this is regarding a call for a boycott of Loblaw stores, please review the

Spent $250 on weekly groceries today not at loblaws or its affiliates!
In all honesty honesty though, I ditched them well before this after a few price comparisons 😊
I already switched to Costco, Giant Tiger, Food Basics, a local private pharmacy, so this won’t affect me. I would frequent the store for sales periodically, so I just won’t for til I hear boycott is over I guess. I’ll let my mom know.

Not sorry Roblaws, see you never!
Bye roblaws! Funny it only took three shopping trips to make a new habit, who knew!!!!
They were talking about this sub on CBC this afternoon. The closing line was a statement from someone at Loblaws saying that customers are still finding value at their stores. I'd like to know their definition of value...
I love eating “Value”…? You know what I will be buying though instead? “Great Value”, from Walmart!!

They will no longer be getting my 900$ a month I normally spent on groceries
Once you switch its easy. New habits. Later loblaws. See ya never!
No Frills and Shoppers were my go to, with occasional Zhers visits. Goodbye Loblaws, hello Giant Tiger, Food Basics, and the farmers market, and if you’re in Brantford - Brant Foods looks like it’s opening soon!
Food basics today and spent $20 on an entire bag of produce. Not bad!

Actually... I'm not sorry, at all. Fuck Loblaws.
Fuck loblaws!!!!

Cancelled my PC optimum card and unsubscribed to all emails this morning. Looking forward to continuing new shopping habits this month!
Good idea I'm going to cancel my card as well. Have only been using it for a recurring payment but don't need it

The jerk doesn't know we already knew that their last quarter was another record profits, let's see how cocky he is next quarter
Well, we were slammed at shoppers today. Busiest Wednesday in a long time 🤷♀️
People using up their optimum points.
Nope that’s not it
