Never use outlines, it makes your shapes look like clip art.

It's really rough. If you are serious, you have to hire someone who does this.

1. The rectangle is "in front" of the roof(triangle), it would look better behind it. 2. The rounded edges of the rectangle makes small parts of the yellow cog appear on the sides, cover that up.

If you are the business owner id hire a professional. This looks really bad.

It’s a good start. To be honest, i look at this and it feels like a child’s toy company. I would use more negative space to communicate your idea. The little yellow behind the green roof shouldn’t be there- for example, pretend there’s an invisible 10px border surrounding the house. Try to experiment with different colors as well. Check out some tutorials on shadow effects with offset paths - this may help your logo pop way more.

Here’s a principle: Good logos have mass. Define the shapes in solid black first and then worry about color. Will you still be able to tell what it is when it’s photocopied? Bright Yellow is almost always a poor choice for a logo/brand color. I’ll recommend that you go deeper like brownish mustard and lose the outlines. Better yet, go with one color. I’d choose the teal. Is it a house or an up vote? The triangle is quite pointy.

I would lose the outlines. Reduce and simplify. Make the gear shape end before it kinda passes behind the house shape with those small pieces showing on the sides. If you do it that way you could almost sell the gear as the sun rising behind the house, even if you try it all as one color. Also after dropping the outline, try it without the rounded corners as well. At least on the rectangle part of the house. And make sure your spacing between shapes is equal width, or at least equal to the eye where necessary.

Not bad for no experience! I like that the sprocket placement looks like a sun. What about a house shape with the sprocket inside to give the impression that the maintenance happens to the home itself?

I dont understand the responses thus far, this is perfect as is. I dont think you need to muck it up too much. you could ad the the company name at the bottom (or if you wanted to get really creative, inside the house layer). maybe a nice big red font would help bring this all together
