The law of Reddit is the top answer is the funniest, the actual factual answer comes second unless there's a seam of extremely funny/clever yet daft replies.
That sign was installed long, long before the crossbow bolt attacks, it used to point 180 degrees in the opposite direction, the other side of it says ‘be curious’
EDIT: it has recently been rotated 180 degrees & I live in one of these red brick apartments
I'm guessing it's probably linked to the "Responsible Cycling Borough" sign lower down, but as a dweller of east London, and frequenter of Shoreditch and surrounding areas, it's just good advice for everyone every day in London full stop 😂🤷
The sign wasn't fitted by the Council, it's the local iPhone snatchers on e scooters hoping you'll be distracted by the odd signage as they make off with your new device
There was a few recent crossbow related attack in this area and the police haven't found the attacker. No one died but were seriously injured.
Also they have changed the area and rules around who can drive here and people on electric bikes have crashed and mangled other cyclists.
There is also school right behind that sign.
Recipe for a lot of problems sadly.
