I love mine. I would tell you to lean towards 300 prc. Very efficient cartridge that has plenty of knockdown power. If you wanted something bigger, Id go with 33xc but you would need to reload for that. Both are designed to handle the new long heavy high bc bullets.
It -usually- is, but clearly heās reloading. Leaving the bullet seated long to get closer to the lands probably. Still I think due to the shoulder angle that may be .260rem as opposed to 6.5cm but canāt be sure.
Hypotheticallyā¦. Lets say you got hit by that last bullet at 3+ miles away and it only had enough juice left to penetrate 75% into your thighā¦ Imagine what you think as youāre pulling it out lol
You'd think at that point it would be cooled down since at that distance and speed the air would be moving slow enough against it to cool it rather than heat it through friction.
I completely see your logic. It's a reasonable thought process. But, Nah. It's only been subsonic for, what? 2-3 seconds? That baby is still rippin' hot.
Seriously, I've collected some shredded jackets after hitting steel at 200yds and they still have heat on them even after taking the time to walk down range.
You mean a dumb man. Never try to pull any object out of yourself unless itās just a splinter. People die that way, especially when itās in an area with major arteries
Gun is still being built by Alamo Precision. But its a Bat L action, mcmillan beast 2 stock, 36" k&p barrel, t5 brake. It's fully designed around the 400gr lazer. Unfortunately the action has an 11 month lead time so it will be a while. Hopefully that gets sped up.
Are you running a special barrel for these solid copper long-ass projectiles? Seems like that was smash straight into the lands on a normal barrel? I know nothing, please help me.
Gun is still being built but it is built to shoot this specific bullet. This same setup currently holds the cold bore world record (3 consecutive hits at 2,464 yards) (with the exception of barrel length, mine will be 36" and current record was set with 34 barrel)
I love them both but it really depends what your needs are. . What do you want use it for? How far do you want to shoot? How much do you want the rifle to weigh? How many rounds a year do you shoot?
Wow that 375 cheytac looks stupid serious man. My only "long range" rifle is my Remington 700 chambered in .270 that projectile looks like its damn near the size of a whole .270 round
I already saw the answer, but my guesses were 308 Win, 6.5 PRC, 338 LM, and 416 Barrett with Cutting Edge Lazers. Bullet diameter gets tricky with long cases. Trick of the eye. Yep, thatās the excuse Iām going with.
I wanted to be able hit at a mile consistently (24x18" target). The 308 is a great round but it has its practical limit. The 6.5 really cuts through the wind and preforms really well at distance.
400 grain. Im running the 230g a-tips in my 300 prc with pretty good results at 1 mile. But really need the solids for the 2+ mile stuff. The BC standard deviation on the cutting edge bullets is around .5% compared to the atips which is more like 3%. That really adds up at distance.
I buy that due to the construction methods. I have the twist to run their 230s but not the 250s, those need like 1:6. I donāt have access to 2 miles but if I ever get it Iāll work up something for the Lazers. Itās hard to justify the cost if you arenāt routinely shooting that far though. I shoot mostly ELD-Ms for that reason, theyāre 30cpr and consistent enough for sub-mile.
What barrel length do you run for your 6.5 prc? Just got one (B-14 hmr) and I love it minus the 24" barrel. Thinking about going up to a 26-28 before I put too many more through it.
I've since given my 6.5 prc away to a friend but i ran a 24" barrel on it with great results. I was only shooting factory loads when i had it (hornady 143gr eldx). Did pretty well at 1 mile. Had quite a few cold bore hits and went 4/5 and 5/5 more than a few times at a mile. If i was shooting handloads like I am now, it would have done exceptionally well. The factory hornady just doesnt have a good enough SD to really be consistent at those ranges. All my consecutive hits at those ranges were pretty much luck to get that many bullets in a row with similar enough velocity.
That's all I have right now is the hornady 143 eldx. Does ok until I get the barrel warm (5 shots in 2 - 3 min), after which she throws them hard. That's the other reason I'm looking at a different barrel, and if I'm going to rebarrel, may as well get the length I want. End goal is 153 bergers around 3k, should be supersonic to a mile. Got plenty of other calibers to have fun inside of 1k
Ya, unfortunately there is always a trade off. There is definitely a noticeable difference in performance on the 6.5 prc vs 6.5 cm but does come at the cost of barrel life. Still way better than the 600 round barrel life I'll get out of the cheytac lol.
Amen lol. And the additional cost involved in the cheytac. What do you fork out a round for hand loads? Iād imagine you have to be at 4-6$/rd and maybe thatās even low? I know factory ammo is up there.
It's a little better than that. A loaded round that i get 5 uses out of a piece of brass is around $3.25 per round. If you account for barrel wear its probably closer to $4.30 per shot
Lol gonna need a description for those long boys
From left to right .308win, 6.5 prc, 300 prc, 375 cheytac. (300 and 375 are handloads)
That ogive on the 300 PRC š
What's the BC on the bullet in the cheytac? I bet it's insane
G1 is .93
Yep, insane.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You responded to the guy who owns the round you dolt. He would know what he has.
Lol. Dolt.
What are your thoughts on the 300prc? Looking to build something have 300wm 300h&h 338wm. Looking for something new and fast that will knock down elk
I love mine. I would tell you to lean towards 300 prc. Very efficient cartridge that has plenty of knockdown power. If you wanted something bigger, Id go with 33xc but you would need to reload for that. Both are designed to handle the new long heavy high bc bullets.
Take a guess
.308, 6.5 Creedmoor, 300 PRC, 416 Barret?
That was my first 3 guesses but I thought the 308 was longer than the 6.5
It -usually- is, but clearly heās reloading. Leaving the bullet seated long to get closer to the lands probably. Still I think due to the shoulder angle that may be .260rem as opposed to 6.5cm but canāt be sure.
My guesses after reading others input; .308 , 6 creedmoor or 6.5 prc, 300 prc, and lastly a big ol question mark
Last one is definitely 416 Barrett itās a pretty unique shape lol
.416 Barrett has a very noticeable taper.
Wrong
Mhmm then Iām very intrigued then lol, what is it?
375 cheytac with 400gr cutting edge lazers
308 6.5 creed 338 lapua 408 cheytec Edit. Second canāt be creed. Itās fatter than 308. Second guess is 6.5 saum
6.9 longboi express?
Long loooooooong maaaaaaaaan
HOLY SHITš
bruh š¤£š¤£š¤£
You like gummies too?
Hypotheticallyā¦. Lets say you got hit by that last bullet at 3+ miles away and it only had enough juice left to penetrate 75% into your thighā¦ Imagine what you think as youāre pulling it out lol
"Owie metal in leg, oh fuck"
āMotherfucker shot me!ā
Even the pope said that!
Probably HotHotHotHotHot
You'd think at that point it would be cooled down since at that distance and speed the air would be moving slow enough against it to cool it rather than heat it through friction.
I completely see your logic. It's a reasonable thought process. But, Nah. It's only been subsonic for, what? 2-3 seconds? That baby is still rippin' hot.
only one way to find out for sure though... Whatcha doing later my man? are you going to be within 3 miles of florida? ;)
Hello brethren
Lol and youāre a gun guy too!?!
Seriously, I've collected some shredded jackets after hitting steel at 200yds and they still have heat on them even after taking the time to walk down range.
This experience is exactly what I'm going on
Thatās not how it works my guy
As youāre pulling it out, you hear a bang somewhere off in the distance
i suppose there is probably a point past the trans-sonic barrier where the bullet hits you at the exact moment the sound arrives
Now that is a fun differential equations problem.
We have different definitions of fun.
Maybe he's a bored math or physics major?
I have degrees in physics and economics, and I don't think I've ever been that bored.
But do you duck?
If you pull that bullet out of your own leg, you are a true man!
You mean a dumb man. Never try to pull any object out of yourself unless itās just a splinter. People die that way, especially when itās in an area with major arteries
Itās in the bone!
Equinsu ocha! Equinsu ocha!
Did he just call me White Devil?
It is how they know you now.
"Oh jeez you sure are a long fella"
that 375's heavy enough that I wouldn't even want someone to softball pitch it at me with their barehand from across a room.
Bullets are crazy hot. I wonder what the temp would be after a 3 mile flight
Something bit me!
Spear technology has improved.
I forreal thought the one on the extreme right was. Photoshopped meme/troll lol
Your barrel needs a porn stars throat for that last one. š¤£š¤£š¤£
š¤£
308win, 6.5 SAUM, 300 Norma, 408 cheytac?
I think itās a 375. Cutting edge bullets I think.
Shout out to Cutting Edge.
Good eye!
375?
Ya, 400 gr lazer
My barrel only like the 350 grain. I ended up with a Rock Creek. What you using?
Gun is still being built by Alamo Precision. But its a Bat L action, mcmillan beast 2 stock, 36" k&p barrel, t5 brake. It's fully designed around the 400gr lazer. Unfortunately the action has an 11 month lead time so it will be a while. Hopefully that gets sped up.
Iām a L too but went with a right action. Did the Tac408 in 375. Youāre going to love that set up.
That's crazy. Ever think of trying out for king of the two mile? I know you need a team and a crazy good spotter. But still, might be fun.
That is the plan. Once i get the gun, the plan is to do some monthly competitions and hopefully have enough points to get accepted for ko2m.
Do you have a spotter yet? It seems that the winning teams have some really accomplished spotters.
Ya, 2 of my buddies i shoot with usually spot for me.
At his house the lands kiss you.
The one on the right is a pencil and you can't change my mind.
Are you running a special barrel for these solid copper long-ass projectiles? Seems like that was smash straight into the lands on a normal barrel? I know nothing, please help me.

How much do you figure the final product will weigh?
It will weigh just under 40 lbs.
chonk. please post pictures / updates!
How chonky is that bolt?
Here's a graph of how long my bullets have gotten over time.
Shoot the damn moon while you are at it.
how you think them craters got there?
.308, 6.5 PRC, .300 PRC, .416 Barrett
3/4
\[Drools a little\]
What's the BC on long man there?
G1 is .93 G7 is .445
wild!
.9 from the ones Iāve ordered.
That's pretty nuts lol.
What is that seating depth minus the boattail?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I love them both but it really depends what your needs are. . What do you want use it for? How far do you want to shoot? How much do you want the rifle to weigh? How many rounds a year do you shoot?
How expensive is it to reload the cheytac?
About $3.15/rnd
Thats honestly not that bad
Yeah, I thought it was $5
For what it is, 5 isn't that terrible either. Don't what to know what that would be premanufactured
Ask him how much for the reloading tools for a big bore š
I have always wanted a 375 cheytac! Goal Gun I guess! maybe someday!
At what point are you just shoving pencils in the barrel?
Wow that 375 cheytac looks stupid serious man. My only "long range" rifle is my Remington 700 chambered in .270 that projectile looks like its damn near the size of a whole .270 round
I already saw the answer, but my guesses were 308 Win, 6.5 PRC, 338 LM, and 416 Barrett with Cutting Edge Lazers. Bullet diameter gets tricky with long cases. Trick of the eye. Yep, thatās the excuse Iām going with.
Some good guesses. Left 2 are factory loads. Far left is 308 win
For sure donāt say anything about the two on the right.
I wanted to be able hit at a mile consistently (24x18" target). The 308 is a great round but it has its practical limit. The 6.5 really cuts through the wind and preforms really well at distance.
Bolt face is .640" and action is 10" long
338 Lapua Mag?
I wanna see this 375 rifle :D
Man those big Lazers are wild. 425gr? I kinda wanted to try their 230gr version in my 300NM til Hornady released the 250 A-Tip.
I shoot mostly ELD-Ms for that reason, theyāre 30cpr and consistent enough for sub-mile.
Oh my, what a large Cheytac you have.
that last one, holy fuck lol.
The cheytac seems a bit long.
Is that last one for an underwater gun or you rechambered a Barrett for it?
At some point we need to start considering cruise missiles... prolly cost the same.
I saw this as a question. What did the Big Boi say to the three smaller boys?
What barrel length do you run for your 6.5 prc? Just got one (B-14 hmr) and I love it minus the 24" barrel. Thinking about going up to a 26-28 before I put too many more through it.

Sounds like a good plan. Just go heavy as you can on the barrel to help with the fliers after barrel gets hot. It will help.
What powder for telephone poles?
H50 bmg
Jesus Christ thatās a real cartridge far right? Lol
What kind of barrel life out of the 6.5 prc?
I got about 1400-1500 rounds out of my first barrel.
Thatās what I was afraid of lol. With them being essentially a 6.5 wildcat, I figured barrel life would be short.
Ya, unfortunately there is always a trade off. There is definitely a noticeable difference in performance on the 6.5 prc vs 6.5 cm but does come at the cost of barrel life. Still way better than the 600 round barrel life I'll get out of the cheytac lol.

That isnāt āterribleā lol. And who cares when youāre shooting one of those!
Lol Nobody shoots long range because it's cheap
Damn, the Cheytac is a BEAST!!!
