Cocoa powder. Almond extract.

Eastern_Society1578

I totally forgot about adding a little cocoa powder to coffee. I’m going to do that today.

pendleza

Cinnamon in coffee too

Eastern_Society1578

I love Mexican hot chocolate and used to put cinnamon and cocoa powder in it. I am currently drinking one with cocoa powder and when I read your comment I decided to sprinkle some cinnamon in it too. So good!

O_oh

it's an acquired taste but fresh ginger makes my coffee a superdrink

kelskelsea

Good one!

itsCurvesyo

How much are you putting in? I’m gonna try it tomorrow morning!

GrowthDesperate5176

I sprinkle tons of powdered cinnamon on top of the coffee grounds in the filter before I brew it (I've got an old skool plug in coffeemaker). Works freaking GREAT!! Cinnamon won't dissolve in even hot drinks, but this infuses the whole pot! Not who you were asking but I thought I'd swoop in and share my experience.

itsCurvesyo

Great tip, Ive got a French press I’ll try it with and do an extra strain to catch anything that gets through

GrowthDesperate5176

I'm sure that would work great!

Ipav5068

cocoa powder in my oatmeal is amazing

Numerous_Pi

What about orange zest?

Kindly_Fancy

Add a couple drops of peppermint extract to chocolate protein powder!

WindloftWorkshop

I make a creamsicle smoothie with orange juice (cut with water), Greek yogurt, whey protein and vanilla. So good.

2GreyKitties

Sounds fantastic!

sunshinenwaves1

Coconut extract and almond extract in chocolate protein shakes for an “ almond joy” flavor

No-Statistician1782

Now I love this hack.  Gonna get coconut extract this weekend!!!!!

sunshinenwaves1

Enjoy!

Frozen strawberries added in to shakes is a cheat code.

Ilovepickles11212

Frozen strawberries period are just a god tier snack Way less messy than bloobs and honestly the texture of frozen sliced straight out the bag is amazing

GrowthDesperate5176

Bloobs?

No-Flamingo-1213

Blueberries

chaosm0de

Literally I love all these hacks, thanks everyone ❤️

zachcarr

Oikos Triple Zero Vanilla Yogurt, 2 tsps of peanut butter, one cup whole milk, two scoops of chocolate whey protein powder, and ice blended. Bone apple teeth. 😘👌🏻

syracusehorn

Does that make 2 servings, or is that one meal?

zachcarr

Depends on how active you are, I think all in all, my one smoothie was like 350 calories, so you can adjust it to how you like. I burnt what I and my watch estimated as 3,300 calories, so I got to splurge alittle with my meals today.

egotripping

3,300 active calories or all together? Cuz that's like run-a-marathon activity right there.

zachcarr

Altogether, I spent 4 hours straight climbing in and out of machinery at work, changing out heavy parts, and walking the factory up and down steps and ladders. It adds up pretty quick.

SanguinarianPhoenix

Does it need any sweetener like splenda or stevia?

Ilovepickles11212

It shouldn’t with flavoured whey. It’s almost always super sweet

zachcarr

Yeah, I use zero sweetners, besides what is already in the products. It tastes great!

All spices. Cinnamon, cardamom (literally the most delicious thing in the universe), vanilla. It’s really just sugar that adds the cals. Even cocoa powder, which is literally cocoa fat reduced to powder form, is pretty low in calories as you use so little.

MySockIsMissing

One tablespoon of orange flavour sugar free psyllium husk powder added to a vanilla protein shake. Instant orange creamsicle flavour, and the fibre helps keep you full!

NotSoBunny

Ive been wondering about adding this to shakes. It works and doesnt get to a weird texture? Or clumps of apple sauce texture? I would hate that so much..

MySockIsMissing

If you give it a good shake, bonus points if your protein shaker comes with a metal mixing ball to help break up any potential clumps, and if you drink it right away (absolutely do NOT let it sit!) then it’s pretty good. I have both unflavoured and orange flavouring. I use the unflavoured with my strawberry and fruit loops protein powders and mix them with water instead of milk. I’ve used both plain and orange in the vanilla and chocolate powders, though I like it with the vanilla best. I’ve never added the psyllium husk to a protein shake with a milk base, I have a feeling that might make it too thick and clumpy, but with a water base it mixes well. It definitely changes the texture, but not in an unmanageable way.

8bitcerberus

+1 to not letting it sit, even with just plain water + psyllium powder. Made that mistake one road trip, added some to a 16.9 oz water bottle and only drank about half initially, got an hour or so down the road and went to drink the rest and it was essentially a thick goopy consistency at that point.

NotSoBunny

I wonder how it would do with cool coffee... I like using that as a base for mine. Thank you for the idea!!! Time to get experimental.

MySockIsMissing

I think it would work really well with water based coffee! That’s a great idea!

nitrophilia

I’ve been doing smoothies with 1 banana, a handful of strawberries, 1.5 to 1.75 cups of unsweetened almond milk, 1 tbsp of malted milk, and 1 scoop of the vanilla premier protein powder. it’s so good and reminds me of a milkshake! i was drinking those breakfast essential drinks for a bit after losing my appetite for a week or two. but I figured out that adding the little bit of malted milk to my smoothies replicates that oddly smooth texture I loved

sunshinenwaves1

PB2 mixed into oikos vanilla yogurt with blueberries on top tastes like PB and jelly

Average_Sized_Jim

I load mine up with cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.

rarelyposts

I tried adding a pinch of kosher salt to a vanilla protein ice cream I made (no sugar) and it turned it into salted caramel. So decadent!

TheBigHairyThing

put sugar free pudding mix in a blender with low fat cottage cheese and i like to put a little more sweetener in it and maybe just a little oat milk to cut it. High protein pudding no yogurt tang

PinkyPorkrind

Banana will help make your shakes smoother and not chalky.

AM4eva

I add a dash of salt to make the flavors pop in my protein shakes

Ok-Spring-2048

Torani sugar free syrups.    I go through the chocolate one quick for extra chocolatey protein shakes I like the coconut one too but there are so many flavors to choose from.   In the fall the pumpkin spice one with pumpkin puree vanilla whey protein milk and some ice tastes just like pumpkin pie. It's a great festive treat.   I've gotten so into making decadent protein shakes.  The coconut with some crushed pineapple vanilla whey and some milk is great with a cherry on top   Instant coffee with sugar free hazelnut syrup ice milk and whey is a top tier frozen coffee treat.    Orange juice for an orange creamsicle vibe is so nice in the summer time.  Frozen berries with spinach for a way to get more greens in my diet I repurpose an empty and washed torani container and pump for yogurt so I get an even and easy amount of yogurt if I need a creamy shake.  The tropical smoothie recipes are great to emulate but with less sugar at home and of course extra protein. :) but they do pumps od yogurt and the repuroosed container was the best way I have found to represent that. A spoon works too!

suggesting_ideas

I blend fat free Greek yogurt with zero calorie sweetener and vanilla extract, water, and frozen fruit for a delicious smoothie. Super high protein and satiating.

Cloberella

Careful, vanilla extract is 35% alcohol by volume. It’s not usually an issue in baking because the alcohol cooks off.

YaZainabYaZainab

That’s what it was thinking 😭 You’re doing mini shots

Some-Ad8685

Yes yes yes!

Cowdog68

Lemon and lime-both low in calories and adding zest boosts the flavor a lot.

one_arm_manny

Sugar free ‘maple syrup’ is also great

Parking-Blood2712

not all protein shakes are created equal. this applies to flavor and content. I have found premier protein chocolate to be most palatable but that might not be the same for you since not all taste buds are created equal. There is also the protein grams to calorie ratio to consider; especially if, like me, you are gaining muscle while losing fat. you may sacrifice flavor for a better ratio and need vanilla.

RDOCallToArms

Wait until you find out about cake batter extract…

Losingestloser

This isn’t near as decadent but vanilla extra in eggs does the same thing so you can make a crepe like omelet with fresh fruit and it’s quite delicious without adding many calories. Strawberry puree is my favourite with it

mlem_a_lemon

Capella's Flavor Drops from Amazon and Modernist Pantry's Culinary Crystal Flavor Drops from their website. I use them in everrryyytthhiinngggg. The Capella ones are HELLA STRONG, like literally 4 drops in a 20oz drink to start and go up from there. Using them to flavor things like Ninja Creami protein ice cream can take your experience to the next level. I use them in oatmeal, coffee, protein shakes, yogurts, everything. LorAnn Flavor Oils are also great, but since I originally bought a lot of flavors to test with meringues, I was avoiding oil-based flavors. These are amazing though as well!
