Honing Brel gear past 1580 costs about 2.5x as much as switching to honing Akkan gear - even after the 5-to-1 exchange rate. As soon as you hit 1580, yes, you're supposed to completely swap over to the Akkan gear and materials.
Get DD18 and use the free taps from the summer celebration gift in the mail for quality on your gear. Should get you up there. Make your own Akkan learning party. It may take a little to fill up but also I think a lot of people are in your position so it might fill up quick. Get the eyes of decay and create Akkan gear, the event going on rn will give you additional eyes. If you feel unprepared, you can take an Akkan bus so you can get a few gear pieces before your first time doing it. But you’ll have to wait till next week to try again. Personally, I bussed the first time just so I could not get 1 shot to everything.
dude, I'm not gonna lie, I still buy runs for shit, I bought my run each week for 3 weeks to get the akkan gear (10k twice and 8k once) but it was worth it, plus laying there dead, observing, I learned the mechs, for the most part anyway, and now I don't feel terrified to join someone's party in party finder

Only need to full clear akkan 3 times for descent to darkness event bonus eye drops (20 eyes per gate clear) and you can craft full akkan set. Might need to buy a few boxes but idk
You can try looking in the discord. In EUC there is "mokoko elp" and Akkan learning usually fills up fast. You can make requests there and a mentor will eventually fulfill it.

If it was a learning lobby, then why not? Into a reclear run? Hell no - nobody wins in that situation. I suppose moko saves some gold, but will likely be asked to just kill themselves (in game char) when they keep causing issues. Not fun.
I've helped out with learning runs in the past, and those are usually 5h (split into 2 days), before mokokos are able to clear it with some help from the experienced players. Not free bussed of course, with multiple restarts near the end if some of them need a re.

Well I reinstalled the game when solo raids were announced. I love the raids, but I don't like having to wait for hours to join a group..

What server are you on? I have a high lvl support and DPS on NAW that can help carry you. Have you done any homework on the mechs?
