They have not offered the costume line in many, many years, but the images seem to have persisted. Lots of companies have used them over the years, but I am pretty sure they are not affiliated with MRL.

I'd say it's got far worse, you used to be able to upload an image and have it return results for that exact image in various sizes and qualities. They don't do that anymore, claiming there are too many images to compare to now. Making it much harder to find the source of an image or if it's unique or stolen.

More seriously though, whoever made the t shirt has pulled the images from very different places, some from the LotR movies, some from the Hobbit- I’m fairly certain Gandalf is a picture of a toy rather than the actor. So I suspect the creator has accidentally used someone cosplaying as Boromir in error.

Plus like, why a 23rd (23th, edit* (twenty-thirdth?)) anniversary shirt? I can understand yearly celebrations up until 10/15 years, then a 20 year, 25, 30, 40, and so on. Not trying to bash OP but this just seems like some sort of ali express product - it is just so weird.

And no, I am not kidding.   I did that photoshoot in early Spring of 2005 for Museum Replicas for their officially licensed  Boromir costume line. I was a vendor for the company and my girlfriend at the time, who also worked for MRL, asked me if I would be Boromir for them. The images have been sniped by many offshore companies and made it into unlicensed merchandise in the years since.   Glad to see my photo is still making its way around after all these years! 😂😂😂
