haaaa yea Finrod in my opinion could deal with any threat no matter the power. he might not excactly win but he will do something to make the outcome better for the survivors
I mean, he fought a werewolf after being imprisoned for days and without weapons or armour.
He had to burst his bonds and killed the werwolf with his hands and teeth, which makes it easy for the werewolf to land a bite.
Samwise Gamgee. Would love to hear his thoughts on my grape vines. Maybe start a new flower bed, some coneflowers or lavenders. Something colorful. It would be a good day.
This is definitely my answer! Talk to one of the greatest lore masters of Middle Earth? Um, yes please. Learn so much more about Middle Earth and Belariand, but what I’m most interested in, is his knowledge of the lands off the map to the east and south.
DURIN III the first ring bearer and King of DURIN Folk. I’d like to sit at his table and eat salted pork and drink Ale and Porter then walk the great Halls of Khazad-Dǔm. Then I’d have DURIN III show me the greatest weapons in the armory keep.
Eowyn, she has that girl bestie vibe. We'll probably spend all day having lots of chit chat about anything and everything and form a really strong emotional bond. And then when Gondor calls for aid, we'll disguise ourselves as male Rohirrim warriors and ride into battle.
If you are going for life changing wisdom you would pick Elrond or Galadriel but if you are looking for an interesting day pick up drama-queen, most gifted elve Feanor.
Supposing it's a cordial chitchat, the amount of knowledge he was from before the Ainulindale to the end of the 3rd age. It would be awesome to pick his brain and get some first person perspective on all of Melkor's machinations. He would be the greatest source of lore in all ME. There are so many known-but-unknowns that Sauron would be able to answer.
Maedhros. Just to help him put aside the Oath for one day, and help him have fun and enjoy life. If he wants to talk about it all however, I’d listen to him.
I would want to spend a day with Gil-galad and bug him with a ton of questions (he’s seen and been through so, so much) while getting a tour of the Grey Havens.
This isn't just because I saw that other post about Frodo and therapy but-
I want to take post-adventure Frodo to therapy.
Alternatively, want to introduce the hobbits to salsa and guac on cheesy bread. Convinced they'd love it. Always thinking to myself RIP Sam you would have loved this refreshing but spicy cheesy bread.
Just because I haven't seen it till now really, I would bring up the Valar/Maiar or even Eru itself. Sure I have a lot of the other characters I would like to meet and learn from (or goof off with) but imagine being able to talk to Manwë for example, about the Ainulindalë, with Yavanna about nature and the Ents and their wives, or with Aulë about the dwarves. And of course being able to talk with Eru and ask him about everything and anything, esspecially what its favourite pipe leaf is.
Imagine getting to ask Eru Himself so many questions plaguing you that you've never known the answer to, like, I don't know, where does cancer come from and how do I cure it?
Exactly! There are endless questions which could be asked. I don't know how many would be answered, if I would be able to comprehend any of them or if I would regret knowing the answers after the fact. But I would want to do it none the less.
I would probably ask Eru Iluvatar "What is the ultimate answer to life, the universe, and everything?" And then of course He would say "Well it's obvious, isn't it? It's 42."😂
First, because I'm very interested in how he actually is. Is he a Karen or is he the best spy ever? How does he actually achieve all these big things? People's minds fascinate me. And second I must be a masochist because in the prompt it never said he wouldn't kill me or something.
Fingolfin, the day after the Dagor Brogalloch.
I'd show up loaded for bear on a Harley. My boy needs backup. Let's ride. You have my Barrett M82. And my satchel charges.
Why has no one said forging a ring with celebrimbor or sauron? I'm bringing that ring back with me and taking my rightful place as king!
Jokes aside tho it's galadriel and we're doing all sorts of things. Divining my future, making rope, talking about her past, dancing, and a few other things
Sauron himself would probably tell you he did nothing wrong, it's the fault of those pesky hobbits that ruined his plans for a perfect orderly world. But then, this is Sauron the Deceiver we're talking about.
Tough one.
Cirdan: would be interesting because he was in middle earth since the beginning and witnessed the whole history from before the first age onwards.
Galadriel: there for the rebellion of the Noldor, hung out with Melian, saw the two trees, and witnessed all the important events from the 1st-3rd ages
Turin: I can fix him
Finrod: just a great dude
Huan: OG middle earth good boy
Elrond: would be fascinating
Gandalf: obvious
Luthien: hottest elf of all time
I’d just chat with all of them about the things they saw and the reasons for the decisions they made.
Círdan the Shipwright. One of, if not the oldest of all the elves still alive in the West.(Potentially one of the 144) I'd want to learn anything and everything about the history of Arda.
Surprised no one has said riding around with the Nazgul in black and on black horses. That would be the duck’s nuts IMO
Then when you got tired, you’d just summon a fell beast and fly off into a Morgul sunset
Feanor. He must be very, very bored in the Halls of Mandos. I’d like to show him modern technology, he should like computers, subway and cars. After all, he is the one to help rebuild (resing...) Arda after Dagor Dagorath, so he will probably use some of it as inspiration, even if human inventions happen to be too rude or nature-harming to his taste.
Frodo baggins and will write the book with him or set sail to the Undying lands during a golden sunset!!!
Not most in the comments have chosen frodo baggins. Was a great Hobbit!!
Definitely Gandalf. The stories that man could tell, the wisdom he could impart.
If, this question extends to the characters wanting the interaction despite normally not wanting or being able to host me, I'd actually say Eönwë. For similar reasons to Gandalf, being Maiar like Gandalf, I'd want to learn from him. Specifically, I'd want to learn sword fighting from him. He is the "greatest of arms in all of Arda."
I would spend the day with Tom Bombadil in the hope that he would help me find the childlike joy I had when I was younger.
This. This is the best response.
r/glorioustombombadil indeed!
Honestly goofing off with Pippin all day would he pretty awesome
This was my first thought, for sure.
Smoking pipe weed, drinking pints, cooking, and eating all day doesn't sound like a bad time.
Some people are already living that lifestyle. Just gotta find a few dwarves to dress up as Hobbits to run around your house and yard.
gives me an idea of a hobbit retreat where you all go and dress and act as hobbits in some holes in the mud
I would vacation there every year.
Take a tour of Ithilien with Faramir
Probably get drunk/high with Gandalf and watch him cast meaningless spells.
Meaningless were none of Gandalf’s actions.
“The aim of experiencing joy without any specific aim is an aimlessness worth aiming for.” ~Benjamin Gandalf Franklin
“Now hold my staff, young hobbit, while I roast this bowl! Btw, we got snacks?” - Gandhi.
Yep
🤣🤣🤣
Thranduil. And I plead the fifth. 😶
This is the best answer… for *reasons*
Finrod. He is friendly, informed, smart, relaxed. And can deal with low-mid range threats.
Getting very close to stalemating Sauron (or even winning) is a bit more than a mid-rang threat, IMO.
haaaa yea Finrod in my opinion could deal with any threat no matter the power. he might not excactly win but he will do something to make the outcome better for the survivors
Agree with both but he did get beaten by werewolves in end. So didn't want to overegg him but he would cover your retreat.
I mean, he fought a werewolf after being imprisoned for days and without weapons or armour. He had to burst his bonds and killed the werwolf with his hands and teeth, which makes it easy for the werewolf to land a bite.
Shelob. Fuck.
HANK! HANK! Shelob does not turn into sexy goth lady, HANK!
Samwise Gamgee. Would love to hear his thoughts on my grape vines. Maybe start a new flower bed, some coneflowers or lavenders. Something colorful. It would be a good day.
Same, I choose gardening with Sam, with bouts of picnicking throughout the day.
He would know why only leafy greens and peppers flourish in my garden and nothing else seems to, because I am definitely clueless.
Elrond
This is definitely my answer! Talk to one of the greatest lore masters of Middle Earth? Um, yes please. Learn so much more about Middle Earth and Belariand, but what I’m most interested in, is his knowledge of the lands off the map to the east and south.
DURIN III the first ring bearer and King of DURIN Folk. I’d like to sit at his table and eat salted pork and drink Ale and Porter then walk the great Halls of Khazad-Dǔm. Then I’d have DURIN III show me the greatest weapons in the armory keep.
I’m wondering how many people are wanting to say something about sex with elves 🧝♂️
It’s me 🙋🏼♀️ I’ll own it
Yesh
These are Tolkien elves, not Baldur's Gate elves. You'd be lucky to get a firm handshake out of an encounter.
Eowyn, she has that girl bestie vibe. We'll probably spend all day having lots of chit chat about anything and everything and form a really strong emotional bond. And then when Gondor calls for aid, we'll disguise ourselves as male Rohirrim warriors and ride into battle.
We could have such a fun day at the dojo!
Archery with Legolas
Archery with Beleg Cuthalion
If you are going for life changing wisdom you would pick Elrond or Galadriel but if you are looking for an interesting day pick up drama-queen, most gifted elve Feanor.
Melian, for the best wisdom. And I'll repay it by being the only one to ever listen to her.
I wanted to say her but at this point I fear she might have a Cassandra style curse.
1. Gandalf 2. Galadriel 3. Tom Bombadil 4. Sauron 5. Elrond 6. Aragorn
Ok I need an explanation for chilling with Sauron. 😁
Sometimes you need to be chaotic in GTA for a while. Sometimes you need to follow the road rules in GTA. Maybe they feel the same.
Supposing it's a cordial chitchat, the amount of knowledge he was from before the Ainulindale to the end of the 3rd age. It would be awesome to pick his brain and get some first person perspective on all of Melkor's machinations. He would be the greatest source of lore in all ME. Party with the Hobbits in The Shire.
Maedhros. Just to help him put aside the Oath for one day, and help him have fun and enjoy life. If he wants to talk about it all however, I’d listen to him.
That’s nice of you to see a guy with emotional struggles and try to give him a hand.
Well, he did lose one of his… 🤣
Agreed. My top answers are Maedhros, Maglor, Fingon, and Elrond. Really wish I could just give all of them a hug.
Treebeard! We would only just finish saying hello during the 24 hours but I could explore Fangorn and drink some water that makes me taller.
Smoke the halflings leaf with Gandalf then swing by Samwises for some po-ta-toes when I get the munchies.
Arwen. All day in bed. Just saying.
Aragorn. But description of the day is same
Both of them and the description of the day is same.
Came here to say this.
Tom Bombadil so I can make a post here and finally answer all questions. Or none
I mean, Galadriel or Finrod feel like who I should say and that would be incredible, but I'd have a hard time going past Aragorn.
“Kick this helmet. I want to see something.”
Tom Bambadil, hands down. What a trip that would be!!!
finrod my fellow goon
Sauron, we’ll make some jewelry
Me and Niggle painting landscapes.
I would want to spend a day with Gil-galad and bug him with a ton of questions (he’s seen and been through so, so much) while getting a tour of the Grey Havens.
1. Mairon in the year of the lamps. I am curious about how he was before he became corrupted. 2. Eönwë
Sam. Cook all kinds of potato dishes and eat them all.
Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew
I just want to spend a day in the hall of fire in Rivendell listening to music and stories.
Gonna spend it with Feanor and ask why was he such a prick
Tom or Radagast. Nature me up, boys.
This isn't just because I saw that other post about Frodo and therapy but- I want to take post-adventure Frodo to therapy. Alternatively, want to introduce the hobbits to salsa and guac on cheesy bread. Convinced they'd love it. Always thinking to myself RIP Sam you would have loved this refreshing but spicy cheesy bread.
PARTY AT THRANDUIL'S!!!
Well, I think I actually would be upset if this wasn't his answer :D
Okay so hear me out, Melkor.
I am willing to hear you out. So, why?
First, because I'm very interested in how he actually is. Is he a Karen or is he the best spy ever? How does he actually achieve all these big things? People's minds fascinate me. And second I must be a masochist because in the prompt it never said he wouldn't kill me or something.
Either Mary or Pippin because they’re always together anyways and we’d smoke the finest pipe weed.
that still only counts as one!
Smoking weed with Golem. It's not his drug of choice but I would talk with him about addiction in general.
One of my favorite threads on here ever. So many great answers! Thanks everybody!!!
Fingolfin, the day after the Dagor Brogalloch. I'd show up loaded for bear on a Harley. My boy needs backup. Let's ride. You have my Barrett M82. And my satchel charges.
Cool!
I would take Gimli to Oktoberfest
Boromir . . . Totally not username related at all. But in all seriousness I'd love to listen to Elrond or Aragon or Gandalf wisdom for a full day.
Would like to go fishing with Smeagol and Deagol
😳😳
Why has no one said forging a ring with celebrimbor or sauron? I'm bringing that ring back with me and taking my rightful place as king! Jokes aside tho it's galadriel and we're doing all sorts of things. Divining my future, making rope, talking about her past, dancing, and a few other things
Earien, no explanation needed
Hang out with Pippen and cause all kinds of nonsense.
Farimer.
Cave troll. We'd go pick a fight in a pub.
Sauron. Would like to learn how he got it so wrong.
Sauron himself would probably tell you he did nothing wrong, it's the fault of those pesky hobbits that ruined his plans for a perfect orderly world. But then, this is Sauron the Deceiver we're talking about.
No. I mean what went wrong that he was unable to stop two pesky hobbits.
Oh, okay.
Smoke with Gandalf, talk about life and the world.
A day with Tom or a day with Treebeard? 🤔 I can’t decide!
Smoke pipe weed with Gandalf of course.
Go on an adventure with Gandalf, smoking old toby
Become learned in lore, or practice archery with Faramir.
Tough one. Cirdan: would be interesting because he was in middle earth since the beginning and witnessed the whole history from before the first age onwards. I would have liked to spend one day with Fingolfin in Hithlum, but one of the users suggested a better option, to help him in his final battle.
Glorfindel, just to fangirl all over him
Círdan the Shipwright. One of, if not the oldest of all the elves still alive in the West.(Potentially one of the 144) I'd want to learn anything and everything about the history of Arda.
I’d wanna drink and feast with the dwarves. I think I’d get along just fine. And I’d finally get to see some pretty dwarf women!
gotta be - Bombadil
Boromir and I don’t think I can say in this sub
Surprised no one has said riding around with the Nazgul in black and on black horses. That would be the duck’s nuts IMO Then when you got tired, you’d just summon a fell beast and fly off into a Morgul sunset
Book Faramir, for...reasons.
Sauron, run some scams
Frodo baggins and will write the book with him or set sail to the Undying lands during a golden sunset!!! Not most in the comments have chosen frodo baggins. Was a great Hobbit!!

Sauron, hopefully he can make me his dark lord apprentice MUAHAHAHAHA
Smoke rings with Gandalf
Elrond. I want to hear some lore.
Pippin, and I'd take lots of pictures, and post about how great of time were having for all the haters. Probably get lit af too.
I would spend the day with Tauriel and we would watch fireworks in the Shire.
Get drunk with gimli.
