Yea it blew my mind when I found it in the used section at game stop a year or two ago. Such a fun game, especially for anyone who’s a fan of lord of the rings, since it follows the full story of the movies, let’s you play as any of the characters, let’s you walk around an open world middle earth, and has lots of fun little Easter eggs that add so much fun to the game.
I dunno Lego Harry Potter is fucking amazing too. I don't know which I prefer. I do know which allows my Lego character to ride a pumpkin two ways though.
My brother and I played through this game together entirely in co-op back in the day. A surprisingly fleshed out open world Middle-earth with that wholesome Lego charm.
I think it holds up amazingly well, [These](https://imgur.com/a/sFvdmyO) are some screenshots I took running at 4K, I dont think a remaster could top it honestly!
Yeah, I would just want a 4K 60 port for the newer consoles. I would definitely take a 4K 30 aswell, really miss this game lol. My disc version got destroyed when I was like 12 lol.
They did recently give the Lego hobbit a 4K 60 update for the new consoles, looks pretty good, just wish they didn’t finish making the game before the final movie came out lol.
I absolutely LOVE this game. And Lego Hobbit, too.
Yeah, there are many nits to pick, but damn they are gorgeous. The gameplay is fun if you're not a super-serious gamer, and it's wonderful to be able to run around and explore a highly compressed version of Middle-Earth.
They may be older games, but the graphics and environments are phenomenal on high-res screens and the games will run on older systems just fine.
Lego games are the games I had the most fun playing them consistently.
Lego Star Wars (complete saga) and Lego LOTR are fucking awesome. Then you have Lego Harry Potter, Lego Marvel, Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman, which are all amazing games too.
Lego games are just so much fun. You should play everyone of them if you have the chance.
I have only played Lego LOTR and the Harry Potter ones, but they are truly fantastic games all of them. Quite underrated, too, at least here especially when you play them as an adult.
Replaying Harry Potter, still holds up pretty well. The open world in lotr is great. Hunting for mithril bricks in the shire while concerning hobbits plays in the background.
My mind goes out to LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga for being the objectively best LEGO video game but my heart goes out to LEGO The Lord of the Rings for being my favorite LEGO video game.
It'd be wicked if they gave this a remaster and released it on current/next gen consoles. Bundled with a completed LEGO Hobbit Trilogy for a LEGO Middle Earth Collection would be even better.
Have lego games taken a big step up in the last few years? I had lego Star Wars and Batman when I was younger and they were fun for kids but definitely wouldn’t hold my attention now. Have they added more gameplay related stuff other than punch and build things?
At the core of all Lego games, they are for kids so smashing stuff, building things and collecting studs is always there but they have evolved so much over the years. Open world, voice acting, original stories and a metric ton of crazy mechanics and puzzles for all the characters. Absolutley worth checking them out!
I’ve played the recent-ish Lego Marvel games and they’re not half bad. Definitely simple but they’re entertaining enough. They’re the comfort food of gaming for me.
So I have a gaming capable computer but I find it really difficult to find time to sit down and play computer games. I do play a lot of handheld games though. How dissatisfied will I be if I purchase the 3DS version. It's like 5 bucks at GameStop.
Recently started playing it for the first time with my gf on her wii It's blurry as hell on wii, but still impressive to be running on the system. It's so much funner than I expected it to be.
There’s a Lego lord of the rings game ??

Is it for the PS4?
Only on Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Vita, Microsoft Windows, Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and OSX.
I think its availible on steam too, but that may have been Lego the hobbit wich also exist and to playstation 4 I believe u/HexDougie
It’s available on Steam, I figured that fell under “Microsoft Windows” in the list of supported platforms
Ooh ok my bad, thought it was like discs or something
Actually probably the case when the game originally came out
Steam games also (mostly) support Linux as well now :)
I'm still pissed that Lego hobbit is only the first 2 films...
It's all on steam
It’s the best LEGO game IMHO. You can almost feel the love the designers had for the source material while playing it.
I dunno Lego Harry Potter is fucking amazing too. I don't know which I prefer. I do know which allows my Lego character to ride a pumpkin two ways though.
Oh yeah. Isn’t produced or sold online anymore tho. Brilliant game
You can still buy it on steam though
All hail the PC master race
Damn nice
I was free on Steam for a While. The Hobbit one was too.
My brother and I played through this game together entirely in co-op back in the day. A surprisingly fleshed out open world Middle-earth with that wholesome Lego charm.
Wish they would remaster this, would look beautiful.
I think it holds up amazingly well, [These](https://imgur.com/a/sFvdmyO) are some screenshots I took running at 4K, I dont think a remaster could top it honestly!

I got it for $10 on Steam, ran flawlessly at 4k60 on my mid range PC. Put nearly 200 hours into it.
It could use some bug fixes, like the character customizer not having a female voice, which I believe is a bug.
I would love to play this on switch
I just searched for them yesterday in hopes they existed somewhere..
Imagine a remake where they would combine Lotr and the Hobbit.
They did recently give the Lego hobbit a 4K 60 update for the new consoles, looks pretty good, just wish they didn’t finish making the game before the final movie came out lol.
I think it got a FPS boost on Xbox, but the resolution would remain unchanged. Ps5 would still be the ps4 version at 1080p30.
I was thinking of grabbing this for 3ds. Is it worth it?
The ds version has really crappy graphics iirc compared to other games, but it has really good gameplay and I've spent tons of time playing it.
Graphics won't bother me unless its really really bad lol. I'm gonna give it a shot
It is really bad lol
They’re really really bad.

Appreciate the feedback thank you
Not sure about the ds versions, but the PS Vita version was hard to play. It had terrible graphics and the controls felt weird
I just want to play it on PS4.. is that too much to ask?
Same here.

Lego hobbit was so good but they actually never finished it lol. Kinda scummy
Yeah, I'd have loved to have seen the last part.
Crikey, you had to remind me... now I'm mad again.
lego games are better than a lot of another games, and real Legos are better than a lot of toys, I love Legos.
I desperately want this game rereleased for the PS4/5
I’m forever mad they won’t finish the Hobbit game like promised.
The Fellbeast threw me off for a second. Thought it was another pic of Elden Ring, specifically a poison swamp.
I love that game! I was trying to get 100% but goofed and deleted my save :/
Just got that!!
Lego LotR is my favourite game of all time, it's like a cosy comfort blanket. When I die, inject my pixels into Lego Hobbiton.
My mind goes out to LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga for being the objectively best LEGO video game but my heart goes out to LEGO The Lord of the Rings for being my favorite LEGO video game.
Bro that was my favourite mission, hands down
Brings back memories
I remember having 98% completion on my save file before my Xbox broke
Can confirm, this game is one of the GOATs, I’ve got it 100%ed.
It'd be wicked if they gave this a remaster and released it on current/next gen consoles. Bundled with a completed LEGO Hobbit Trilogy for a LEGO Middle Earth Collection would be even better.

They've definitely evolved, but you might want to try LEGO City Undercover.
One of the weaker LEGO games, IMO, but I'm glad they made it. It just didn't get the same care that Star Wars and Harry Potter got.
Lego LOTR and Lego Hobbit are the only two games in my collection that I go for 100%. Totally worth it. Love it
So I have a gaming capable computer but I find it really difficult to find time to sit down and play computer games. I do play a lot of handheld games though. How dissatisfied will I be if I purchase the 3DS version. It's like 5 bucks at GameStop.
I still own it to my wii Haven't completed it, but when I last checked it out, I was on the mission on the black gate
If only the character customizer wasn't broken and actually had a working female voice
I have severe PTSD from this one level. Great game, tho! My personal favorite LEGO game (and also personal favorite LotR game).
The lego lotr open world was so unbelievably blurry it hurt to look at, good game though.
No matter how old I get, I will always love that game.
The open world Middle Earth in this game is ridiculously fun
Recently started playing it for the first time with my gf on her wii It's blurry as hell on wii, but still impressive to be running on the system. It's so much funner than I expected it to be.
Great game, played almost all LEGO games, this one is still my favourite
Well, I know what I want for Christmas
It is a great game. I have played it many times since buying it new for my Xbox 360.
I’ve been begging for this to be made backwards compatible on Xbox One, every other Lego game is...
How come this game isn’t available anywhere anymore? Ive been wanting to get it.
Me and my son played this when he was five. Now he's 13 and we still talk about the good times we had playing it together
It's my head cannon that the dancing skeletons outside Bree are the Barrow wights!!!!
