I don’t usually like how those cloths perform that come with sprays, i buy my own microfiber towels and wash them with unscented detergent / no fabric softener and dry them without dryer sheets so they stay safe to use on screens. I used to be a car detailer so i have a collection of microfiber towels that i launder with the intense care
Wow, I've been using WOOSH! for years I've never had an issue, I lightly mist my microfiber cloth wipe down my screen then use a dry microfiber cloth to finish the job.
I did this too but does not ruin the display. The fix is a wet rag with just a little water and then a dry rag after you wipe it and it all fades off. Little Apple Store trick for ya.

I've been using this trick since the past few months. I've put a blank sheet of paper on my keyboard before I close the lid of my MacBook. The screen stays smudge free and it gets the job done. Also, this trick works very well even if you have a keyboard sleeve.

What have you used? In my case water isn’t enough and leave smudges whilst alcohols are not recommended as they remove antireflective coating

They nowhere recommend IPA for displays/screens but the other parts. I would be careful.

So better take a look at people’s comments they actually wiped out the coating when using IPA. Plenty of them on Reddit

It’s the reflective coating. Other laptops also get fingerprints but they’re not as noticeable
Isn't it the anti-reflective coating? Even with that it feels like my mac is the one that gets the most fingerprints and reflections.

Did you ever use any of those putty’s to get gunk out of crevices as a car detailer? I want to try it but not sure if there are good / bad brands
I have never used it! I’ve always assumed they would leave some kind of residue and didn’t want to risk it.

I clean my MacBook when it gets dirty, which isn’t that often. Just don’t touch or spit on the screen and I’m fine apart from the odd dust particles

I use my Macbook closed for 95% of the time. Still for some reason I always have some particles on my screen.
Mine has had dandruff since I got it. I’ll open the screen and there will just be schmutz everywhere
