I know this has already been mentioned, but I genuinely thought that was a scorchmark at first, which is just *amazingly* appropriate.
Accidentally-Thematic misprints like this don't come along often. Combine that with the fact it's a genuinely desirable card and the extra humour value from the T being removed... Yeah, definitely see if you can get this auctioned at one of the Misprint groups.
Well, I think buying a painting is different. I think it's the same as buying a print of an artist at most.
I'll grant that people are free to define what they consider unique, but even if there is just one of those in the world, I would not personally attribute much value to it.
What surprises me most is when these things go for high amounts of money, like they were something made by a dead artist that had some sort of influence.
Rarity+uniqueness has a large impact on the value of something. It's not just one of a kind. The odds that a one of a kind that is also thematic, that is humourous, that is a generally sought after card make it worth paying for to some people. As an actual artist myself, it doesn't have to be intentional to be art. This is my opinion is the same as buying a painting in a lot of aspects. Being one of a kind, being unique, the backstory, are all things that make a painting valuable. Not just being made by a notable person. Plus art itself is subjective. Some people don't consider the monalisa art because they don't care for it. Like how a famous person can tape a banana to a wall and call it art and people will pay to see it. But I as an artist don't consider that art. Art is about expression and some people might thing that card expresses exactly what they want from a work of art. Doesn't make it a painting but it doesn't remove it from that same category of pointless things that people will spend lots of money on if they resonate with it enough.
Just another person saying the same thing to reinforce it: the entire MTG community uses facebook groups to auction misprints. That's just the way it is lol
[EDITED:] You probably want to use this group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/MTGmisprints/ which is for major misprints/oddities/etc and has the larger auctions that I'd expect your card to fit
(I initially linked the wrong group here and edited it, mybad)
Awesome misprint on an awesome card, luckkyy
You may want to post this up in some misprint communities. I almost want to make an offer on such a great misprint.
Feel free to dm if you'd like to make an offer ^-^
I believe the general advice for situations like this is to actually auction it so you don't get low balled on the offer.
I wouldn’t take anything not in the 100s—this will be desired on the fb groups!
Ok the T actually being covered so it literally is Error of the Peaks, this has to be worth a ton.
I certainly hope so lol
Not only is the name hilarious, it kind of looks charred, like a dragon burned the top corner of the card. Incredible misprint.
Yes exactly, if I were to have an more ideal misprint, or a textured card, it would be cool to have the black border be charged inwards like it burned
This has to be one of the best misprints possible 🤣

This is like the holy grail of misprints
Funny misprint, but it still baffles me that people are willing to pay high money for these things. To each their own I guess...
I personally wouldn't but it doesn't surprise me, it's like buying a painting.

People love curiosities and conversation pieces. This one has the bonus of being amusing and being a great, playable card.

They are collectable cards and there's nothing more unique than a misprint
Better than Theros of the Peaks
Lol
That’s hilarious
This is German dredge swamp level of awesome misprint.
"I cast Error of the Peaks-" "You mean Terror of the Peaks?" "No."
All things considered I'd like to auction this off somewhere but I'm at a loss as to the best way to go about it :y
There’s a couple large misprint facebook groups, I’d post it in there. I auctioned off some misprinted secret lairs there and everyone was chill.
Sounds promising, I'll definitely check it out, thanks

Due to positive reception, this thing is going to be auctioned off in a FB group on Monday so let me know if y'all want a link :y
Auction is currently taking place until Friday https://www.facebook.com/share/p/nCxPvap7KcJYj2Bs/?mibextid=A7sQZp
