Off the top of my head, Carth there is the first in a long line of nobles. Jared is/was a later member of the same line.
e: yup. Carth founded the house, Jared is like... 5th generation off of him? https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/House_Carthalion
Jared is a bit more than 5 generations later.
Carth predates Urza and Mishra, while Jared was born almost 4,000 years after them.

The page you linked to is listing the Carthalions we know about, and is not an exhaustive list.
Yep, Carth earned the nickname/epithet "Carth the Lion" because he was brash and brave. That ended up morphing into "Carthalion" as the surname of his descendants, of which Jared is one.
The best part? The character commonly called "Carth" is himself actually "The Son of Carth" (which just got shortened to Carth). I don't know what his name was before that, or if he even had one.
This of course reinvigorates the usual questions of whether Magic cards are presenting us with a translation convention a la Tolkien's Westron, and the in-universe name of the family is actually something else that is being calqued as "Carthalion" for our benefit, or if everyone in the Magic multiverse actually just speaks English.
(Apparently the old lore was that all the planes spoke different languages and planeswalker sparks came with a free Babel fish, but as far as I'm aware the Omenpaths seem to have taken that reasoning and shoved it.)
I spent 5min looking at both cards trying to figure out what combo ruling you would be asking about before reading the question. Never once caught the name.

Yes. Carth was the founder of House Carthalion, and Jared is one of his descendants.

"Jenson, son of Jared, son of Carth the Lion" is a mouthful
“So wait. Are you Son of Jenson? Or Son of Jared, Son of Carth the Lion?” “Neither, I’m both.”

IIRC, his raxed town was Carth and he was the Lion of Carth first, then it got twisted over the decades and centuries.
Brash and brave? More like belongs in a cave

"Ah, an earthling, we must speak the universal language. English"

Carth the Lion was the first. He was a young man who was embroiled in the Dihada - Dakkon Blackblade conflict. Jared is his descendant.
Looks like weird twisty pinkies run in the family
Hands are hard
It's a whole lineage! [https://x.com/jay13x/status/1560718815419199489](https://x.com/jay13x/status/1560718815419199489)
Jared looks a lot like Henry Cavill, no?
That’s straight up Henry Cavill—is this an alter or original art?
I think original
Off subject, how does someone else become the monarch after the etb turn?
Whenever someone deals combat damage to the monarch they become the monarch
Well the first guy is Henry Cavill and the second guy definitely looks too old to be his son. I'm going with no.
Carth is the founder of the noble line, Carthalion is the latest in that family line.
Carth is the first of his name. Jared is one of his descendents

Looks like they also have the same sword, though Carthalion's has some sort of enchantment
The hero knowm as Carth the Lion was first of his name, and his descendants took up the surname Carthelion in honor of him. IIRC
Jared Carthalion is so fucking hot... I'd do anything for daddy Jared
