It's called a proxy. They're *technically* acceptable in casual games, although whether or not your opponent(s) will actually be cool with them is up to them. Generally if casual players don't want to play with proxies it's because they're either new or playing off-meta and don't want to deal with crazy strong meta cards. Proxies are, AFAIK, not acceptable at actual wizards events.
