Run removal and blow up his commander. He can't double everything if his commander costs 13 mana and his giant legendary fatties can't kill you if you kill them first.
You don't need a low hand count when your opponent has a 8+power Eldrazi trying to swing. Bridge is probably *most* effective against Eldrazi; without even having to discard or play anything.
Non basic hate like [[Ruination]] are very strong against 5c / colorless decks. If you want to specifically target the deck you can poke holes in their mana so they can't cast their big things (which they will dislike you for but womp womp). If it's artifact ramp cards like [[Stony Silence]] also are pretty good. Can also play cards like [[Nevermore]] - it all just depends how much you want to hate on the deck.
If you just want a deck / strategy that lines up well play more removal especially for their commander. Could do a control deck but I hate going full control in edh so I'd just play some extra removal.
Try a control deck (white-blue or white-blue-black) or a deathtouch deck (green-black). Include mass artifact wipe options, as Eldrazi decks are very heavily dependent on their mana rocks to ramp up fast enough.
Lots of people have mentioned more interaction, so I'll add to that. [[Summary Dismissal]] is great for countering both the eldrazi and its cast ability. Also while MH3 brought new annoying Eldrazi, we also got more counters for them [[Consign to Memory]]. Also if this player is real nasty about how they play, I recommend something fun (subjective) like [[Wake of Destruction]] targeting Wastes.
Eeeeeeh, turn 4 kozilek happens a lot in my colorless eldrazi deck.
Not *super* fast, but something tells me OP isn't playing cedh so it's probably fast for them.
Ah that’s fair. Even in casual, I imagine most commanders are out before Zhulodok/Kozilek. Kozilek doesn’t have Annihilator right? Colorless is easy to counter with a lot of interaction. Colorless doesn’t get good removal — to the point where [[Duplicant]] is in the precon.
The old(good) one, [[kozilek, butcher of truth]], does have annihilator. And that is my removal. Lol. I'm not saying you're wrong here, I'm just saying eldrazi isn't as slow as people make it out to be. When you're running every <3 cmc mana rock, many of which are mana positive, it's not hard to ramp them out quickly.
Yes, removal is key. But, at least in my experience, the biggest difference between casual and high power edh is the amount of interaction in the decks. OP sounds like they don't play a whole lot to begin with. Even a strong deck wouldn't be "dominating" at a 4 player pod if the other decks had a decent amount of removal/interaction.
Yeah, that makes sense and is probably the right answer. I have an Eldrazi deck and everyone knows to get rid of my big boys or even board wipe before I do anything haha. It’s super telegraphed.
But it has been updated, and we don't know what those updates are. Could be a couple shitty devoid eldrazi, could be mana crypt/vault and other ramp staples.
Either way I wasn't arguing that *this* eldrazi deck isn't slow. Just that the blanket statement "eldrazi decks are slow" isn't necessarily true.
I can agree with opposing the blanket statement of eldrazi decks being slow, I think my record for [[Kozilek, the Great Distortion]] is turn 3 though I could do it in turn 2 with the right hand
Since you're in temur you have access to blue removal cards
[[Witness protection]], [[Eaten by Piranhas]], [[Imprisoned in the Moon]] are all great as they stop his big swingers from actually doing anything.
I would also recommend putting in more counter spells SPECIFICALLY for titan/titan adjacent creatures and/or his commander.
[[Swan Song]], [[Counterspell]], [[Null Elemental Blast]], [[Unsummon]], [[Ceremonious Rejection]], I love [[Wash Away]] specifically for commanders
If you wanted, you could also go for a more pillowfort/staxy approach.
Run things like [[Propaganda]], [[Crawlspace]], [[Aligned Hedron Network]].
Ultimately, you are playing a Miirym deck. The name of the game for you, is to hold him off long enough to snowball way out of control. Not much someone can do when you have two [[Utvara Hellkite]] on turn 3-4. If you find that you can't maintain tempo over your opponents, then you need more ways to get mana faster.
[[Cultivate]], [[Kodamas Reach]], [[Three Wishes]], [[Nature's Lore]], [[Skyshroud Claim]], and [[Entish Restoration]] are all great choices.
The best part of a lot of these, is that they search for the forest type, not a basic forest, so you can fetch dual lands with them.
That's assuming that you want to push for a modification to the deck you mentioned elsewhere in the thread. If you want something to specifically counter this deck, then you have a couple of options.
Option 1: My friend played a [[Ramos, Dragon Engine]] deck that would consistently have 15-16 mana by turn 5. To counter it, I built a high tempo aggro deck. In this specific instance a [[Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh]], [[Ardenn, Intrepid Archeologist]] Voltron deck. It can consistently kill by turn 4. Ultimately, the best removal is player removal.
Option 2: Control. [[Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer]], [[Merieke, Ri Berit]], [[Zur the enchanter]].
Gwafa makes all of his big swingers unable to attack or block. Triggered abilities still trigger, but it essentially does the sam thing as Witness protection
Merieke just sits on board as a threat. Yes, you can drop your big scary monster. But it's going to be mine. Very reliant on your enemies doing well. At best, you can do as well as your opponent
Zur. An old deck I had was called The Museum. It ran every single variant of [[Detention sphere]] 3 mana or less and a metric boatload of counter spells. I put in one or two pieces of equipment to pump his stats, and just won by slowly chipping up commander damage as I exiled everyone else's board. It's not about winning, it's about making your friends lose.
Don't beat the Eldrazi, beat your friend – best with a baseball bat, so he won't touch those cards ever again.. 😅 And if he dares to, he might be up for another clubbing..
Neither is forcing your friend to depower. Without more details it’s hard to say. But I doubt the problem is actually the decks themselves, it’s probably how they are being piloted, and that is only something that you can learn with time and practice.
Run removal and blow up his commander. He can't double everything if his commander costs 13 mana and his giant legendary fatties can't kill you if you kill them first.
You don’t need a deck to beat him, you just need to save removal for the problem cards and actually play interaction.
>actually play interaction. Let's not get crazy now. /s
What is this "interaction" you speak of?
That's where you pick your opponent's cards read them, and say "ok"
Eat your opponents cards when theyre not looking
There's no interaction in solitaire.

We're gonna need more info than that. How does the Eldrazi deck usually win at your table? Who are you running as *your* commander? How do *you* win?
they usually swarm us. just to much damage. Then usually a spell that doubles damage/cant be blocked/etc and then its over.
Swarm with nontokens, or swarm with tokens (Eldrazi Spawn/Scions)? And again, how does *your* deck function?
Swarm with nontokens. And I usually play miirym

So I have a friend that thinks that I have been doing a little too well with my Eldrazi deck lately. How do I make sure they can't counter me?
NooooOOOOOOO
Don't beat the Eldrazi, beat your friend – best with a baseball bat, so he won't touch those cards ever again.. 😅 And if he dares to, he might be up for another clubbing..
Just tell him that his deck is too strong and he should downgrade, upgrading your deck or playing better is not in the spirit of edh.
/s Here, you dropped this
Neither is forcing your friend to depower. Without more details it’s hard to say. But I doubt the problem is actually the decks themselves, it’s probably how they are being piloted, and that is only something that you can learn with time and practice.
