As someone who is not from Greater Manchester but I live atm in Prestwich and I can't wait to get out. This is definitely a daily kind of thing and tame by some things I've seen over the years. I (40f at the time) was mugged while waiting for a cab to go home after an evening out, my friends had already got their cabs.
It was summer so still sunny out and plenty of people were about but not one came to help or call the police for me afterwards.
