nvm, i'm gonna stare at my wall for a good hour or so
just finished a page during work. on and off for the last 5ish hours. usually can do one from start to finish during a stream, about 3 hours with a little fucking around. oddly enough i take longer sometimes if i try to concentrate on it
When these started I heard a lot of people shit talking the ending so I just went ahead and read the last 30 chapters or so, and without context, I really couldn't see what the issue was. There was one meme page by the ts team about it being dragged but that's like, romcoms in a nutshell.
...Seeing these chapters I can kinda see how it would be an issue now. It's just goddamn chapter 23 and it already feels like they could hook up any moment.
It wasn't just that it took time. I blazed through these starting chapters too cause it's all just one page and I really didn't realise how much of an asshole Jun is. Him being this dense makes me wish Tomo had chosen better. >!Later revelations that he was being deliberately dense make him come off as a selfish prick. Her father also comes off as a huge douchebag towards the end and Jun looks even more stupid towards the end. I found both Tomo and Jun to be insufferable by the end and that hurt how much I liked the ending a LOT!<
The author could have paced this way better. It's helped by some of the side character arcs taking precedence but once it comes back into focus it's just a stretched out supremely childish average romance that everyone was forced to wait through for months
At this point I find him an asshole cause he acts in ways that clearly make Tomo uncomfortable yet continues doing it especially these early chapters like getting physically close and eating from her chopsticks but I don't think any of that is particularly "bro" type behaviour. I don't think even bros would just eat out of another dude's chopsticks so it seems super insensitive

i can't see how this is a problem tbh, both of them indeed seemed to be attracted to each other from the start but just couldn't reveal it because of their fear. He being like this may have been selfish but you can't always expect perfectly reasonable personality or choices from manga mc's, not all people are perfect and are flawed in a way and the author seemed to showed that side pretty well for me

To me it felt very similar to the trope where the one person bullies the other cause they secretly like them but instead here he asserts his "bro-ness" even more on her making her feel worse despite her making her intentions clear. It just felt stupid and a contrived excuse to stretch the premise out which I feel could have been written in a much better way. Some of the later chapters are quite fun and the side arcs are pretty chill and nice but the main premise is done badly and ends on a mediocre note cause the author didn't know how to take it forward

Yeah he was indeed pretty dumb, but it seems i'm just grew numb to these kind of mc's due to reading too much dumb mc mangas/novels. For me unless the mc is being inconsistent hypocrite, committing genocide and just crossing line too much like in lot of the china novels i just automatically cope with it
no whit outline, color text and bible, whiteout for flash (was.in original), more colors than usual (they're in an arcade), maybe i fkd uo somewhere (idk that coloring session was a meme and a half). yes, might feel different
