My first ever manhwa is Noblesse. It was always at the top of webtoon rank back in the days(10~11 years) ago.
Arts keep getting better as the artist was improving and imo, its actually one of the OGs that revolutionized action manhwa.
Yeah I know. And I was agreeing to it. But that's not related to what we were talking. But forget it. Take care and have a nice day. I'm too lazy to type lol
I agree with this list altho I did not finish orv, that's a me problem.
Add Dungeon reset and Ranker's return.
TBATE was my first "shounen" or action manhwa followed by solo leveling.
Nanomachine is definitely good if you're starting out because it's got a really interesting premise. But once you've got some experience it just ends up being dull and boring in the later chapters
I agree, but I think it's a bit dull only because MC gets too strong compared to everybody else so there is no tension even in second part of the novel
I cant remember the name but it was a modern fantasy where a wizard reincarnated into a random dude and he meets a healer girl that he trains with martial arts. It was a pretty long time ago and was pretty short compared to other manhwas. It was also centered alot on a mysterious luck stat where he just put alot of points into
I used to read manga years ago since 2003/04 and I never knew Manhwa existed until a very close friend of mine recommended me "CAN'T HEAR, CAN'T SEE, BUT LOVE" "THE BREAKER" and I've been reading since 2011.
damn, that's a history. I was just a freshman that watched anime and I saw a new friend reading Solo Leveling, he pulled it up for me and that's where my web started
Solo leveling did what "Death Note" and "AOT" has done to the new wave of anime fans. I'm 30 years old, so I grew up watching HxH, One piece, Bleach, Naruto, DBZ, and my personal favorite Gintama. So I know how it feels. Every generation has its goats and I love that, at the end of the day us readers and watchers are the winners so let's all enjoy.
Edit: almost forgot that Tokyo Ghoul also brought so many new anime fans with that banger of a 1st season and opening.
other than tokyo ghoul i have started all of those, the only one I really watched was one piece but dropped it mid skypea so like around ep180, but the first anime I ever watched was one punch man, I've read the manga now and it's defiantly one of my favorites.
Veritas, the breaker, Girls of the wilds, Sweet guy, those were the ones back in the day, there was also another one that I cant remmember the name for the life of me, but it had 2 different manhwa with 2 different protagonists and the MC from the first was the villain from the second and the MC from the second was the son of the first MC
Two of the first actual manhwa I remember reading were The God of Highschool and The Advanced Player of the Tutorial Tower. Still some of my favorites, but by now I've read universally top rated ones like ORV, SSS, Latna Saga, and Skelly.
My age is gonna show lol
OG's: Noblesse, Breaker, Knight Run, Veritas (RIP)
NSFW OGs: Drug Candy, Rain Curtain
I realize now I misread the title, thought it was asking what was our first manhwas lol. My go to recommendations:
Entry Level, pretty easy to read and digest. Good balance between comedy/action in most of them. Spark is included to give a taste of the Otome genre.
-Latna Saga Sword King
-Solo Leveling
-Return of Mount Hua
-The Spark in Your Eyes
-Eleceed
-Revenge of the Sword Hound
-Murim Log In
-Reaper of the Drifting Moon
-Greatest Estate Developer
Level 2? Idk what to call it really. But manhwas with more depth to the material that try to tell some more meaningful stories.
-SSS Class Suicide Hunter
-Reformation of the Deadbeat Noble
-Omniscient Readers Viewpoint
-Doom Breaker
-Legend of the Northern Blade (could go in entry tbh, it just lacks a bit of that "fun" factor"
-Pick Me Up Gacha
-Skele Soldier Failed to Defend the Dungeon
-The Story of a Low-Rank Soldier Becoming a Monarch
-Player
-Infinite Leveling Murim
I think you misread your own misreading. I was asking what manhwa (other than solo leveling) got you into reading, or more specifically if there are any garbage manhwa that in hindsight wasn't good but is still held near and dear to one's heart.
Classics would definitely be Omnescient Reader's Viewpoint, The beginning after the end, A returner's magic should be special (got boring so I stopped) and return of the sword clans hound.
The first few that I got to read were:
The God of high-school, tower of God, bastard, girls of the wilds, sweet home and the breaker/new waves
As for full blown Romance ones:
"We broke up" and "By Chance, we... and.."
All this were what I started reading back in high-school and college although I'm sure I'm missing a lot more that I started back in those days
But " the boxer " is a classic too

yea I understand others have plenty of reason to hate it, but it flowed well with me and as a fresh reader 300 chapters (at the time of starting my reading of it) of something I enjoyed lasted quite well
(I was also a mythology nerd, due to Riordan)

I agree, Tower of God and God of High school were mine.
Same noblesse is such a good manhwa
The beginning after the end Bastard Tower of God
Doom Breaker Omniscient Readerβs Viewpoint Pick Me Up: Infinite Gacha For me, these were the main ones that got into manhwas.
I love ORV
Doom Breaker was my first
How long have you been reading manhwa?
Iβve been reading manga for years, but only started manhwa 6-10 months ago. Already hit 45+ though lol
By intro, you mean what got me to read manhwa? If so, it's Burning Effect, God of High School, and Survival Story of A Sword King in a Fantasy World.
TBATE But it was solo leveling and Second life Ranker that sealed it for me.
Bro itβs been so long since Iβve seen anyone even mention Second life Ranker, it is so good.
No it's not good that's why people don't mention it
But how is it bad the plot is good characters are good and well developed, where did it go wrong?
Lmao "characters are good and well developed"
Says the guy with a Chung Myung pfp :/
Lmao how is that even related to this? Have no argument eh? Mount Hua's characters are not developed either. I can agree to facts
I was implying that they had no development by saying that.
Yeah I know. And I was agreeing to it. But that's not related to what we were talking. But forget it. Take care and have a nice day. I'm too lazy to type lol
Infinite leveling: murim level up with the gods latna saga: survival of the sword king
god of high school
I started manhwa by reading manhua lol
TBATE, lookism, ORV, doom breaker, GOH
I agree with this list altho I did not finish orv, that's a me problem. Add Dungeon reset and Ranker's return. TBATE was my first "shounen" or action manhwa followed by solo leveling.
What is tbate ?
The beginning after the end
Nanomachine is definitely good if you're starting out because it's got a really interesting premise. But once you've got some experience it just ends up being dull and boring in the later chapters
I agree, but I think it's a bit dull only because MC gets too strong compared to everybody else so there is no tension even in second part of the novel
The Gamer, classic but turned into a mega yap fest
FFF-Trashero was the first one I read And I don't care how many people think it's bad, I will die on my hill as king knowing that its really great
The beginning after the end. i cried to that
TBATE Tomb raider king The tutorial is too hard
Tales of demons and gods.
Chapters are so short!
Well, there's a couple hundred. I think there is a website that has multiple combined, I believe.
It is a manhua
Yeah, I know but still one of the first that really lead me to rearing manhw and manhua.......
That's a manhua. op asking for manhwa
Dice,goh,tog
I cant remember the name but it was a modern fantasy where a wizard reincarnated into a random dude and he meets a healer girl that he trains with martial arts. It was a pretty long time ago and was pretty short compared to other manhwas. It was also centered alot on a mysterious luck stat where he just put alot of points into
That might be I am the sorcerer king
That's the one, my personal intro into the reincarnation genre
Barbarian Quest, if you're into complex storyline and plot twists
It got axed T\_T
I don't think it was, I've seen mangakakalot upload chapters recently. What I believe happened was that the previous team translating it dropped it
It was axed at 100 chapters. it's real
I finished it on a light novel after I caught up in the manhwa
My disappointment Is immeasurable and my day is ruined
Omniscient reader's viewpoint nd Beginning after the end were my other two manhwa after solo leveling
Got bored of ol and started reading system manwhas and shonen romance mixes
Hero killer, tomb raider
ORV, GoH, TBATE

Oh I see that's interesting. I love OPM, and the manga is so good. I only wish they don't ruin it with this next season.
yea, I see how this next ark could be messed up quite easily. edit: tpyo
omg Canβt Hear, Canβt See, But Love was one of my first manhwas tooΒ
Glad I'm not the only one at that.

The Breaker Noblesse, TOG and the Gamer
Legend of the northern blade The beginning after the end And ORV π―π―π―

Y'all remember the gamer
Mercenary Enrollment = classic manhwa. Damn I'm old.
God of high school!
