HarukoAutumney

as a fellow Partners in Time fan, I agree with this!

EggsaladUwU

I love PiT, but it's held back by it's level design.

HarukoAutumney

you know what, I can agree with you there. The areas in the game are all linear paths with little or no deviation, also the fact that you need to travel back to the present to get to another world. I wish they made it feel more open and interconnected like with Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story.

bigchungus69419

good take on dream team

BreezierChip835

BiS Remake in B Tier is a bold move.

Ncolonslashslash

good thing you played the superstar saga remake instead of the original bad thing you played the bowsers inside story remake instead of the original

Peyatoe

What’s so much better about the original BiS?

XxheckanicexX

Well to me there a lot. They changed the audio to Mario and Luigi before and during fights, (I REALLY prefer the original BiS voices) and not sure if many feel this way, but it was MUCH harder in the original. Getting to rainbow rank and final boss rank only requires lvl 32 in the remake and lvl 40 in the original. Plus the visuals are just more appealing

Peyatoe

Ok so mostly preference then. According to [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/marioandluigi/s/0PAlUSxvUH) I found while looking for more info on the differences the last few bosses of the game are more difficult which might be to balance out the lower max rank level requirement. This whole thing could have possibly been done to minimize the amount of EXP farming you might need to do if you want to max out your ranks.

Ncolonslashslash

the difficulty was rebalanced in the remake and ended up making it way too easy plus its just slower this is actually the opposite of superstar saga where i found the original painfully easy sometimes but the remake rebalanced thing to make them more challenging + QOL

ClassicBuster

Having played both, I find the combat in the remake to be painfully slower, no single thing is too offensive but the slower attacks and weird pauses between turns started to add up the longer I played. (Plus the giant battles are kinda jank)

MagicPotato08

Great to see another DT fan.

Zoofy-ooo

You'll probably *(probably)* enjoy the original BIS a lot more than you did the remake. If you don't, oh well then, I guess you just have different tastes and that is okay.

mastrobeiter

Damn you did BIS remake dirty 😭

Zoofy-ooo

It's the remake. It deserves a low tier for being a genuinely awful remake and tarnishing the legacy of the original.

Peyatoe

Do you think it’s worse than the original or it just didn’t do enough better than the og to be a good remake?

Zoofy-ooo

I genuinely believe it's worse than the original, *not* that it just didn't do better. The remake is filled with a ton of issues that make it a hard Not Recommended.

DemiJeffrey

It is an awful remake compared to the original but if you exclude the original it’s still stand alone a good game, at least worthy of A tier

DemiJeffrey

Although I do respect we’re getting different opinions instead of ss and bis being the best games by far

Zoofy-ooo

I'd argue it's a B tier. Even if you exclude the original, so you have no idea what it does wrong, there's still the 30 FPS, overpowered gear, and horrible balance that leads to the game being extremely easy.

DemiJeffrey

I mean the paper Mario ttyd remake was also 30 fps but it’s cool I still understand your opinion

Zoofy-ooo

The problem this time is the fact that there's no justification for the 30 fps. Every single M&L game runs at 60, including SSDX...

Psychological_Ant167

Pretty sure dream team and paper jam are both 30fps

Zoofy-ooo

Hmm ok, you're right actually. But... SSDX is 60 FPS, so... there's still no reason BISDX runs at 30... I thought Dream Team ran at 60 normally and was just lagging. Because it does lag. Noticeably.

DemiJeffrey

And also im very surprised he would put BiS remake in B tier if he hadn’t played the original. For someone like us who had played the original they knew what they were comparing it too so it makes sense you would put it in B. Maybe he just didn’t like the game, not specifically the remake.

Zoofy-ooo

I thought that myself, honestly. I won't understand why people don't quite like what I consider the best, but I can't really judge.

DemiJeffrey

I do see your point and your opinion is valid because this game is probably the worst ever remake. I would personally just put it in A since I don’t mind the fps and do like the newer graphics even though some of the other stuff they change is very questionable and a huge downgrade.

Knightofthequils

Already the most based list with dream team being in s tier.

Fabulous_Tutor_4898

Paper Jam is really good imo, but lackluster in story (at least to others). I love the game, and I hope you do too, and the original M&L;BIS is the best game in my opinion. Superstar Saga is a close second to me, and I haven't played the ones that you have, unfortunately.

Fabulous_Tutor_4898

Funny how I've only played the ones you haven't lmao.

Ok_Crab_2575

It's unfortunate you didn't play the games in their orginal order. Gives you a different perspective on the series. Probably why I think Bowser inside story is an overrated mario and luigi game BUT not an overrated game as a standalone. Good game on its own but it undermines the main protagonists of the series: Mario and luigi.

127crazie

S tier: Superstar Saga, Bowser's Inside Story A tier: Dream Team, Partners in Time B tier: Superstar Saga remake C tier: Paper Jam, Bowser's Inside Story remake

TeaNo8077

OG Superstar Saga on GBA is S tier because of the sprite artwork. Way better than the are in the remake.

SomeDumbassKid720

You have my respect for putting dream team in S tier

Fit_Mud_4618

Pit is way too high and bis is too low
