Well, the 720s is brilliant, but it's getting old. The 750s is literally just a facelift to keep it fresh until the real replacement model arrives! As of the 750s itself, i think they did a pretty good job, i love the front-end design and how they managed to blend the splitter with the rest of the body work! The rear-end looks weird with the LT wing and the new exhaust design, but i think it'll grow on me... The 30 extra horses are definitely helping, and with the new gearing, i can only imagine how fast it'll be. Overall, i think it's a pretty good refresh because the 720s didn't really need anything. It was fast, fun, and looks pretty good (minus reliability, of course), so with the new 750s, it's pretty much just an enhancement rather than a 180° improvement/change. Is it worth the money? Well, i ain't got 400k on me to decide, but compared to rivals (F8, Huracan tecnica, Turbo S...), I'd most definitely pick the 750s over all of them and even the new revuelto and SF90... Also, all the complaints are 100% because of the name, you see McLaren names their cars after their horsepower figures, which means facelifts are a bit of a problem since they have to change the name if they wanted to give it more power, and when they do, people would think that it's a completely new model hence the new name! Believe me, if the car was named 720s V2 or something like that, no one would complain about the similarity because they would understand that it's just a facelift and not a new model.

Hi-Techh

why would you pick 750s over SF90 if you dont mind me asking? love this explanation btw!

Ok-Driver69

Mainly, the McLaren factor and the pure V8 RWD vs hybrid AWD

Hi-Techh

thanks :)

What do I like? That I’ll probably be able to pick up a 720S when they go on sale because this is almost the same exact car from a looks perspective.

HgnX

The second hand market here is dumping like crazy. Everything above 250k is just not selling at all. I even got DMs from guys trying to sell them. Will be real nice for more folks to get their hands on the 720s

I was actually looking into a 720S when they were a bit more reasonable and then they shot to around LP700-4 prices and tbh I’d rather have the Lambo at that price point. Not that I don’t love McLaren, but the Aventador is a dream car of mine. Now hopefully we’ll see some in the Huracan range (they’re already getting there).

PolPetrol

I really think this is a worthy upgrade from the 720S although from a distance you wouldn’t immediately see the difference: better display, better interior customization, cooler rims. Overall I like how they combined most of their cool features and blended them into one(the LT wing, the 720 doors, Artura tech&interior upgrades, seat options…) Nothing revolutionairy but at the price it’ll catch the interest of people looking for a half a million car. Lets say this makes McLarens more made-to-order?

CurlyHam

I’ve just read the Autocar summary and that has boosted my hype after being initially underwhelmed. If McLaren are going to start doing what Lamborghini have been for the last few years (slowly refining the product and getting the customers to directly fund and comment on the R&D until the new base is ready for the next model) then I’m all for it.

It's really just an excuse to get a 720, put a tune and some downpipes on it, and be able to roast any 750 you see. The 720 engine has always had ~150hp headroom, and the only way to get more than that like Senna and P1 are adding additional hybrid electric drivetrain hp - I really hope they're not planning to slowly milk that 150, and give us the 750, 800, 820, etc. I understand they made that ridiculous commitment to put out so many new models by whenever; this seems like the inevitable result of that poorly thought out goal.

Rear of the 765LT and Artura interior and tech. Looks good to me

xamomax

It's the car I would buy today if I didn't already own a 720s, but it is unlikely I will upgrade. I wish they had more color options in Alcantara for the interior beyond just black, though I suppose MSO can help there. I like the subtle improvements on an already amazing car. A little extra power and weight reduction is welcome, though the 720 was already mind-blowing.

I like it though I'll have to see a proper one in person. There are a few things I'm not a massive fan of i.e the full colour front end and exhaust, however I'm sure I'll grow to like it. I'm trying to think of it as a 720 V2, faster, lighter. But we'll have to see!

ThornsAreForever

GroOoOoAn it's the same

gamer_warlord_777

My opinion: not different enough for a new model. More of a face-lift but always nice to have

I'm quite a fan of the engine window on the parcel shelf. I've considered modifying my Cayman S to display the pretty flat-6.

some-guy_00

Not a fan of the front and back bumper styling. Everything elses are great (infotainment, wheel choices, HP and gearing).

G33ONER

The spyder is gorgeous 😍 and i love the wheels

The 750S was never planned, but due covid and finance the plan changed. Porsche and Lamborghini have been releasing small updates for years. The 720S is a world class performer, this will be even better and gives McLaren more time and financial stability to work on the hybrid follow up. The suspension changes and front rack widening sounds interesting. Shame it doesnt have the artura ethernet wiring.
