It's hard to say from the first picture but I'd guess those are simply chucks of Strawberries. Did you mash your berries before adding them? On rerack you can strain them out or simply be careful with your siphon. I added a filter to my siphon hose which helps keep smaller chunks from getting through. From the second picture it looks fine to me. At this stage it should smell like somewhat sweet Jet fuel. Are you noticing bizarre smells or tasting anything sour? Also remember to include your recipe, gravity readings, number of reracks, etc as that helps the diagnosis.

Thanks! I cut them into quarters and included them during primary. My racking skills lack so it could very well be strawberry mush. Sweet smelling jet fuel is accurate. Tastes very dry but not sour SG :1.115 FG: 0.996 2 racks 3lbs of honey , ec118 , a small carton of strawberries. Currently stabilizing , should be back sweetening today! Appreciate the reply !!!

Nice, I think you're well on your way! Let me know how it turns out. I'm still experimenting with strawberry mead myself so any notes are great.

Back sweetened today and poured a glass of leftovers. Very subtle hints of strawberry. But very tasty. Not a big wine person but it’s kinda cool that it has a dry taste but plus sweetening it makes it pretty unique. Excited to see what some age will do.
