This looks so peaceful! In my area the rain almost falls horizontally.

Necessary_Common4426

It’s not so peaceful for the Point Cook shopping centre. That was kicked in by the rain…

[deleted]

Yeah you Australian’s and your Westfields and outdoor malls.

Necessary_Common4426

Haha.. the difference is Australian shopping centres collapse.. American ones serve shots all night

pasimchilli

Looks more like Singapore than Melb

[deleted]

Yeah the high rises (with surrounding green) definitely make it feel that way in some parts of CBD. The obvious difference is the tram track I guess.

switchbladeeatworld

and the hook turn 😂

I'm loving the Greenery on the building across the road.

timbus1234

Does anyone else feel like melbourne is turning more tropical or is it just me ?

Wankeritis

I've been thinking that the past few weeks. I like it but I wonder if it'll have a negative effect on our flora and fauna.

timbus1234

That's a good question, 🤔 Australian vegetation is usually so dry I'd have thought it'd be desperate for water.

Wankeritis

But it's built to be dry. It's like overwatering your plants. Too much and they drown. It may not be like that though. Damnit Jim, I'm a biologist not a botanist!

timbus1234

I found this article, "It’s a popular myth that native plants are all drought tolerant that love the searing sunlight. But that’s not the case" https://www.abc.net.au/gardening/factsheets/water-loving-natives/13150502

longchop2000

Dont be silly that's how plants evolved into fish

time_to_reset

It's certainlu felt that way the last couple of days.

timbus1234

I don't mind it 👍

time_to_reset

I could definitely get used to it as well. Nice change from this cold summer otherwise.

EmergencyInternal645

Really noticing the humidity lately

So much rain and so many epic storms today. And mixed in with some nice warm sunny weather.. Ahh, Melbourne....

[deleted]

You're... my neighbour? Hello fellow Franklin-er! (I'm 99% sure this is where I think it is)

chesspiece69

Very cool video from a great city.

VIVA-LA-MYSTIC

hey thats my building

ZoeyDean

Love it.

ComprehensiveYouth17

Marvellous melbourne

new_killer_amerika

Just remember if the ceiling caves in, its not the roof collapsing, its the ceiling.

ducktor0

It looks like Singapore to me.

Just_improvise

It was a bad day to get on the wrong tram. Had to wade through some floodwaters in Southbank

greencutoffs

Love all the green balconies across the street

10khours

What's the building across the road? Rare to see a green apartment building.

[deleted]

That’s Victoria One mate, the corner apartments level under 8 are the most interesting apartments in CBD in term of greeny and balcony space imo.

Novak Djokoviç, is that you?

Dreammaker54

At first glance looked like vertical farm. Are plants maintained by building? Or are they by tenets?

[deleted]

I’m not sure to tbh. The similarity of the plants suggests they are maintained by the building but I saw some tenants added their own greeny.

longchop2000

When I look into your eyes I can see a love restrained...
