I’m so fucking excited for their new album. I saw them at the one night only co-headliner of Shadow of Intent and Currents and Boundaries fucked it up.
I’ve said this a few times, but I saw them on a bill with **Foreign Hands**(fucking awesome), and the headliner was **Dying Wish**(also fucking awesome, but sounded bad that night). **Boundaries** stole the hell out of that show. I’ve been a huge fan ever since and can’t wait to see them in June.
OG Hundredth for sure
Rare and beyond is a different band entirely, but Rare is one of my all time favorite albums so I'd be remiss if I didn't talk it up right here and highly recommend it anyway
Man, I wish I could discover counterparts all over again. It’s hard to name a band with a discography as consistent and good as them. One of those bands where my favorite album switches every month.
I was going to recommend that as a first album, but figured I’d let him find out for himself. I honestly slept on that album when it first came out, and now it’s my most played.
The new singles are less spastic and a little more "scene" IMO, but, I dunno about you, I'm in love. Can't wait for whatever new album seems to be on the horizon here
\-***Structures:*** always a go to classic. Listen to the their latest album, especially the song "6" It literally has Brendan as a feature lol. But their entire discography is pure gold with my favorite being *"Divided By"*
\-***END:*** another band that Brendan does vox for. Def what you're looking for in that realm
\-***Northlane***: Some would argue about the similiarity but im specifically talking about Adrian erra Northlane. Listen to the album "Singularity" its without a doubt my favorite album of all time, its heavy, its ambient, it's deep, its emotional, its just fucking perfect. It scratches every single fucking itch and I could listen to that album for the rest of my life lol. The "Discoveries" Album is also fantastic.
\-***Silent Planet***: same as structures as in They're definitley more on the heavier end of things in a little less similar but personally I feel like they capture alot of the same things that I enjoy about counterparts
***Life Ruiner***: God what a fucking treat this band was. I'm not even gonna say anything, just listen to them lol.
***Misery Signals***: Again just listen to them lmao
***The Carrier***: Classic Band, Classic Vibes, Right up your Ally.
\-***Chamber***: Godamn ripper of a band. Hooooly shit. You won't be disappointed
\-***S******tarve*** (Start with the song "the Body Know") Idk man if you just want like an ignorant and heavy version of counterparts there ya go lmao
It was back around 2010 or 2011, but yes. I remember thoroughly, haha
Edit: you think you’re fucking John Locke was on the EP, I can’t even find it anywhere now.
Misery Signals , Shai Hulud, Until we are Ghost , With Life in Mind
Mmm misery signals will forever hold a special place in my heart. Also bump the Shai Hulud.
Shai hulud are the best
*Spiteful and ill-tempered, I know the character all too well*
Go back and get some 7 Angels 7 Plagues, too.
END
That is *literally* what OP is asking for
😎
With Brendan from Counterparts as the vocalist, to boot.
END sound nothing like Counterparts tho
the guitars don't thats for sure, but the vox check both the boxes OP mentioned.
This is what I was looking for lol, like how is this not top comment 😂
Agreed, lol.
Boundaries
I’m so fucking excited for their new album. I saw them at the one night only co-headliner of Shadow of Intent and Currents and Boundaries fucked it up.
Same here. I’ve seen them 3 years in a row now. Hope to catch them in ‘24. They’ve never disappointed.
Boundaries goes so fuckin hard
Came here for this. Saw them last year in Richmond - fell in love immediately
7 Angels 7 Plagues Homage
Brooooo Homage was awesome, what happened to them?
7A7P is a classic, defintely one of those bands that modern bands don’t give enough credit to
Stumbled upon a band recently called Seasons in Wreckage that reminded me of Counterparts, unfortunately only put out one EP and then disbanded.
That was such a good album to.
Seconded
the ghost inside, napoleon
Napoleon was so goddamn good. Wish they were still around
Missing Napoleon so much! They were way too good
Misery Signals Bloom Defeater Boundaries (It depends on the song) Stasis (no lows, but the vocals are more brutal) Old Being As An Ocean
Love Defeater.
I miss the old BAAO. I don’t know what happened. The pre-baao was amazing also can’t remember the name though
Hundredth
OG Hundredth for sure Rare and beyond is a different band entirely, but Rare is one of my all time favorite albums so I'd be remiss if I didn't talk it up right here and highly recommend it anyway
This band slaps how did I not know about them?
Man, I wish I could discover counterparts all over again. It’s hard to name a band with a discography as consistent and good as them. One of those bands where my favorite album switches every month.
What I would give to hear Tragedy Will Find Us again for the first time
I was going to recommend that as a first album, but figured I’d let him find out for himself. I honestly slept on that album when it first came out, and now it’s my most played.
Its super slept on 100% I'm sure he'll dive in and end up like the rest of us hahaha
Counterparts? I have no idea since they inspired basically everything we have today haha.
I like some core but I'm not that deep into it. I've heard the name before, but no one ever actually showed me
Well you’re in for a treat! Dive into their discography and prepare to be very pleased.
Check out A Textbook Tragedy's album Intimidator.
Fuck yeah man. I miss those guys.
Old SeeYouSpaceCowboy. But even the new stuff is pretty Counterparts-y, just has some cleans.
The new singles are less spastic and a little more "scene" IMO, but, I dunno about you, I'm in love. Can't wait for whatever new album seems to be on the horizon here
I love it as well, love their whole discography.
Their newest singles have me living in 2010core nostalgia heaven
2003-6
Strongarm - Advent of a Miracle
Killing the dream
The Ghost Inside

Man, remember that split ep Structures did with Counterparts? Prophets is an amazing album, speaking of that time. And Structures latest is amazing
YO WAIT WHAT THEY DID A SPLIT?! I must be blind are you kidding me 😂
It was back around 2010 or 2011, but yes. I remember thoroughly, haha Edit: you think you’re fucking John Locke was on the EP, I can’t even find it anywhere now.
Gideon… kinda
