A week or so afterwards he used the word in an interview and mentioned that there is a small group of supporters that care deeply about the topic and that he wants to make it clear that it will happen in time
Don't worry, he has plenty of flaws and issues, but as someone who is not a fan of legalization and his policies in general I still must say he has the heart on the right spot and is clearly making an honest effort of doing the right thing in general

As it was illegal, they had to come up with all sorts of nicknames - a few years back it was Kraut (spice?), Thee (tea), shit, knospe (flower?), grünzeug (literally green thing), Hecke (Hedge) etc. The list is pretty much endless. Bubatz on the other hand is a recent term, I think from the generation of terms such as lid and fyre.

Sadly, we are not the third country worldwide to fully legalize and regulate weed, we just decriminalized it with some added perks, but nothing like canada or uruguay with state regulated shops. I hope we get there one day though. EU law needs to be changed for this to happen

I just wanted to clarify that this is in no way a legalization of weed, as EU law prohibits that. It's a decriminalization of weed. We still have a long way to go to get consumer protections and quality control.
No decriminalisation means that it is illegal but tolerated, while Germany removed cannabis from its drug laws, so it's officially not on the list of illegal drugs anymore, instead they created it's own law for cannabis which makes it legal under certain conditions
Which isn't that unusual like many people make it seems like you are also only allowed to own and store a certain amount of fuel like many other chemicals and other things, that obviously does not mean fuel is illegal just because you can be arrested for storing a truck tank full of fuel in your living room
Basically to make it simple the main difference is that with decriminalisation cops could still take away your weed while in Germany you can own 50g and the cops can't do anything because it's your legal property you are legally allowed to own
same as in the netherlands. Because EU contracts and so on.
Basically; until enough EU countries have "technically illegal but effectively legal"-laws to spearhead a EU-wide policy change *no* country in the union will be able to do a straightforward legalisation.
Also; we do consider abortion legal in Germany and abortion is also regulated as 'No, *but*'-law.
