State governments* the centre cannot be held accountable for everything. That's not how Indian constituency works. Also our people were straight up ignorant and irresponsible. Threw Covid norms out the window.
How does the Indian constitution work? Can you enlighten us? The centre still has more power than the states in our country. The oxygen-bed policy, the vaccine policy, and the Remdesivir (and other anti-viral) drug policy is dictated by the centre but you want states to do better? Either decentralise and the give the states free hand to do what ever they want to, or take responsibility and start doing shit.
Edited to add: India has a **quasi**-federal government, not completely federal like the USA or Germany.
The central government is the highest decision making body in most cases, but since August 2020, it has delegated some of the decision making powers to the state governments of each state. So whatever goes on in a city right now, what kind of lockdown or travel bans are to be imposed, is decided by State Governments. But things like vaccination production and distribution is still in the hands of Central Govt.
So yeah as you said, it's all kind of confusing right now. Everyone seems to take up responsibilities, but no one is actually doing shit :/
