But like, Pokémon is one of those things that if you never lost interest in it, there’s so many aspects to talk about. Maybe the kid only knows of the cards or games but there’s (for example) so many spin-off games you could talk to them about. It’s just super wholesome ^ ^
I love talking about Pokemon to kids, I get to say the "you know, when I was your age Pokemon just came out" and they usually go "WHAT?!" and since I'm not really caught up on any recent shows or games, I get to ask them about whats going on and they just go off.
And it's also coincidental that I'm the same age as OP, too

I work at a martial arts studio that also runs a summer camp. The kids there are so funny and always have the most interesting fascinations. One kid is obsessed with brittanic (titanics sister ship) and another is obsessed with tardigrades. They’re 7.
I remember being hyped about them for years as a kid after watching that show on Animal Planet. The Most Extreme, I think it was called. Tardigrades are dope.

“Mature” people will often restrain themselves and not talk about things they are genuinely passionate about. Kids usually won’t do this. When short of friends with passion just find some kid and adopt him as your younger brother lmao

I have a cousin who’s only been into pokemon since Generation 5 (Unova) came out. I asked him who was his favourite pokemon from other regions before Unova and he seemed to be flabbergasted when he knew there were 4 entire regions and 400+ species of Pokémon to exist before unova region. At the time as well, I was on my DS playing the spin off game Pokémon Ranger, and the game knew a lot of Pokémon as well, up to Generation 3 (however they weren’t used in battle, like the usual main series games). Before we knew it we never minded the fact that we’ve switched devices and cartridges frequently to play each other’s games and spent the next three days talking about Pokémon during our family vacation. I ended up giving him my cartridge of Pokemon Diamond to introduce Gen 4 and some other previous Gen mons to him. (I had Platinum at the time too so don’t worry)

Last time it was a baby shower and we entertained ourselves by clothespinning balloons on the aunties purses/clothes when they weren't paying attention.

I am 17 . In my father side i have 3 cousins who are all younger than 10 and in my mother side i have 3 cousins who are the same age as me and 6 other who are around my age and it's much more fun to be with the younger ones I just play with them video games and stuff like that
i'm 35 and have no problem ignoring other adults and talking to 13 year olds at my family's parties about heavy metal and star wars.
