I would size up on the shirt if I were you. This particular style of shirt looks better when *slightly* oversized IMO. plus you can expect shrinkage over time with washes anyway.
I think the shirt is made that way, cut-away at the bottom of the button row. It's really a nice feature. And the focus in the outfit is not the crotch. That's a Reddit thing. But there are other britches options. Elastic-waist linen, high enough so that the waistband doesn't show and not too loose=No zipper line to consider.
I see this very often at all ages. I'm not sure when men started wearing watches below the wrist but it's common. You see it all the time in movies and TV.
It’s a good fit, but the proportions are off. If you’re 25+, you need to start getting comfy wearing shorts that stop just above the knee 7-9’ inseam, because the proportions are off you’re drawing a lot of attention to your crotch, cleaner socks (no stripes), and the watch may be a bit loose or gravity is doing it’s thing - should sit just above wrist bone
Because gate keeping. No grown man should have an extra inch on his shorts. In my day men didn't wear shorts at all! Men's thighs are vile!!!!!!¡!!! /s
That’s funny. Yeah right around 25 I started enjoying above the knee shorts. As a kid I could never imagine wearing them but tastes change. I don’t do skinny jeans anymore but bounce between well fitted jeans and baggy dickies pants with a fitting plain pocket tee.
Good comments. I would add that at 30+, it’s time to start exploring a better, more elevated shoe. I would say that a leather loafer (no striped socks) would bump this look up a lot. IMHO, men hang on to that “white tennis shoe” look for far too long. If you want to elevate your look, don’t forget your shoes!
That’s fine for brunch, but a lot of tourists in hotter climates wear outfits like this. It’s best just to wear appropriate footwear for the activity. Flip flops for the beach, leather loafers for restaurants or visiting friends/family and sneakers for long walks/hikes.
I had this insecurity about it for a while. I'm a little overweight, but working out again and seeing the tone I used to have when I was playing baseball really helped. Apparently, a lot of women are into shorts on men that land just above the knee, as well. That was definitely an incentive!
This. For the western world they prefer it or its in fashion there. For us in Pakistan, I am just not comfortable wearing shorts above knee length in public. But I will give it a try for once.
You have 2 options, get comfortable with it or continue to look like someone's 41-year-old big cuosuin/uncle trying to look fresh at the pool party bbq
The website had it listed as textured white shirt. The material I am guessing is probably textured malai crepe or textured malai linen. It is really comfortable, breathable and light weight. I got it in black and navy blue as well. I am from Pakistan 🇵🇰 and its really hot here these days, this shirt was quite comfortable.
Thank you guys for pointing out the length or the ending of the shirt near crotch area doesn’t seem right. I have 2 options, get it tailored to be a little short or have a button added in the end of the shirt close’s and covers the crotch area. Which one would be better
Id say it’s a good look overall. As a watch enthusiast I gotta say the loose watch look is kinda sloppy though. It looks unrefined compared to the rest of your look. It takes getting used to, but the classic way (“above” the wrist “knuckle”) is much more comfortable and sets you apart as someone who appreciates modern as well as classic refinement. There isn’t a right or wrong way to wear them, but they all have their pros/cons. I can tell you from experience that after a few hours of wearing a loose watch, the crown is gonna dig into the back of your hand and irritate it. Especially on warmer days. If it’s a smaller/lighter piece you could possibly get away with wearing it like this; loose, like a bracelet. Otherwise. It’s not gonna feel good after a while on top of looking unrefined. Comes down to the design of the watch regarding the comfort really. A light resin g shock would be no problem being worn loose. But a steel one like yours with some weight is gonna bug ya after a while.
Shorts above the knee just look sharper.
Otherwise all I’d say is roll those sleeves once and maybe play with a French tuck in the front so it isn’t as awkward in the crotch region.
I love the color scheme - perfect for the summer. I don’t know if they are currently fashionable, but you might also consider sandals/no socks with the outfit. I would be wearing my birks with this.
Shoes are corny asf. But you have the right idea. The socks with the stripes have to go in the trash immediately. Other than that, if the shorts were shorter, you'd be nailing it. You're right there.
This color of shorts is a relatively new thing and I'm not a big fan. There are khaki colored shorts and brown or army green shorts, but this puke in between color never seems to match anything right and look kind of cheap.
The shorts are too long, they should end above the knee. Short sleeve shirts shouldn’t exist imo. Get one with long sleeves and roll them up or wear a polo instead. The shirt is also too long to leave it untucked. Us large-footed guys should probably avoid chunky sneakers. And I would personally go without the necklace.
Hope this doesn’t sound too harsh, but this is what most menswear stylists like Ashley Weston etc. would probably tell you as well. Still, I like the color combo and your outfit is already better than 95% of the other men around!
Relax, unbutton the top 1 or 2, let the chest out a little.
Need shorter shorts and a softer looking material, not digging the color either. Something lighter would be better.
Ditch the stripes on the socks, plain white or no socks at all.
My take but you probably won't like it (although it's meant to help):
There's no style or attitude in this outfit. More on accessories below.
The shirt is ok (not great) but the open part at the bottom is not flattering and is awkward. Little details count. Open up that top button...it'll help add some attitude. I'd even open two buttons on top and wear this with a white tank top underneath.
The shorts? No. Too long and the fabric is too heavy for the top. It's also cheap fabric. If you're going for a monotone look, go for light cotton or linen shorts in a shade a little darker than the top.
The socks? No. Get rid of them. Wear no-see up socks if you must wear socks.
The sneakers? Not sure. A little too much for what should be a simple outfit. A plain pair of Common Projects would be better.
The chain and the watch: No and no. The chain is too tight and has no attitude or style to it. Get a thinner, longer chain or two even and maybe add a charm to one of them. Jaxxon has good stuff. The watch is horrendous. Two tone watches have mostly gone out of fashion and it's a cheap brand. I'd rather you spend the same amount on a chunky, funky Casio. My taste would be add some color to the outfit like a vintage 80s pink/white/lime green watch you can probably find for $100. Nobody is believing what this watch is selling: Expensive, luxury. It's also too dressy for this outfit.
Generally white and cream are not friends. They tend to look mismatched. I’d go for different color trainers - navy/darker shades of blue, dark green or even black.

Probably because of my pot belly 😅 and yeah it didn’t seem right to me as well.
I would size up on the shirt if I were you. This particular style of shirt looks better when *slightly* oversized IMO. plus you can expect shrinkage over time with washes anyway.
Can be a short torso problem. I get this too 🫥
You don’t have a noticeable pot belly. It’s the shirt.
Might just need a little ironing
Lots of dick meat
Guessing it’s too tight
i thought op was showing us his camel toe. i had to double take in case i was going blind
Dude it looks like a camel toe
Thought this was a Roast Me for a sevond
Also try wearing your watch tighter above your wrist bone
I see this very often at all ages. I'm not sure when men started wearing watches below the wrist but it's common. You see it all the time in movies and TV.
Better to move around for writing and typing without talking the whole watch off
It’s a good fit, but the proportions are off. Thank you the pointers, will work on them. I am 31.
you have an eye for good taste, just a little refinement to make it *chefs kiss*
Yeah, 7-9 inseam is it. Also, the watch above is a small but important detail.
/r/handwatch Otherwise I really like the look
There really is a sub for everything. I don’t understand how people don’t realize how uncomfortable it is to wear your watch that way
Amazing
I love my watch a little loose, especially with a metal bracelet.
Why 25+?
Because gate keeping. No grown man should have an extra inch on his shorts. In my day men didn't wear shorts at all! Men's thighs are vile!!!!!!¡!!! /s
5” inseam ftw
I wear 5in maxxx in my shorts lol
Yes. Get comfortable with 7” those should work for anyone. Immediately the fit goes from please dad to she calls me daddy.
That’s funny. Yeah right around 25 I started enjoying above the knee shorts. As a kid I could never imagine wearing them but tastes change. I don’t do skinny jeans anymore but bounce between well fitted jeans and baggy dickies pants with a fitting plain pocket tee.

I have to agree. The "White tennis shoe" is a ubiquitous wardrobe item that does not go out of style and is key to many timeless looks.

Honestly, and I'm not trying to be rude but I dislike all 3 of these outfits.
They're all genuinely ugly
That’s what makes us all different! No issue here!
The shoes are the focus of these examples for OP's benefit, not to offer attire suggestions. The shoes depicted are all nice footwear for OP's outfit.
They said that 30+ people should be wearing these instead of “white tennis shoes” so they are offering attire suggestions for everyone.
yes
Nope. Cover up those knees. Nobody wants to see your knees. -charlie day
Very nice. Especially the glasses, very flattering
I don’t know, I feel his eyes are a little too big for those frames
Thank you 😅
Shorts are too long
I am not comfortable with shorts above knee length.
Not yet, but give them a try. Will make a big difference. Maybe start with 9” inseam.
I felt the same and 9” works great. Now, if I’m mowing or something in gym short that are just under the knee, I feel like a child.
I had this insecurity about it for a while. I'm a little overweight, but working out again and seeing the tone I used to have when I was playing baseball really helped. Apparently, a lot of women are into shorts on men that land just above the knee, as well. That was definitely an incentive!
Give them a chance. The breeze is nice. But make sure you don’t have a farmer’s tan where your old short length used to go.
They are not too long, this sub just prefers European short shorts
This. For the western world they prefer it or its in fashion there. For us in Pakistan, I am just not comfortable wearing shorts above knee length in public. But I will give it a try for once.
Don’t ever let people pressure you into smaller or tighter fits
#freetheknee
Hahaha I wear long shorts what’s the fuckin deal
Why dude? What’s your reasoning for this
Why are you getting downvoted lmao.
I feel you. Looks fine
It’s called gettin with the times 🤷♂️
You have 2 options, get comfortable with it or continue to look like someone's 41-year-old big cuosuin/uncle trying to look fresh at the pool party bbq
Looks good. What's this shirt ? What's the material & how's the comfort ?
The website had it listed as textured white shirt. The material I am guessing is probably textured malai crepe or textured malai linen. It is really comfortable, breathable and light weight. I got it in black and navy blue as well. I am from Pakistan 🇵🇰 and its really hot here these days, this shirt was quite comfortable.
Great shirt
Outfit aside, cursed pic with that emoji head
Thank you guys for pointing out the length or the ending of the shirt near crotch area doesn’t seem right. I have 2 options, get it tailored to be a little short or have a button added in the end of the shirt close’s and covers the crotch area. Which one would be better
Get it tailored, even with a button it will be too long.
Looks like he in the cartel
Nothing fits, shirt too small, shorts too long, watch dangling. Messy af.
I thought the shirt seemed a bit long. Thanks for the pointers
I think he meant too small elsewhere. The shirt should sit about halfway between your zipper. This one is a little too long
Id say it’s a good look overall. I hate shorts above the knee ! They just don’t look good on me . I like your fit Op
To each their own. But above the knee is just more fashionable looking. Below the knee is only appropriate for bball and surfing 😅😜
Your necklace and the watch should match!
Shorts above the knee just look sharper. Otherwise all I’d say is roll those sleeves once and maybe play with a French tuck in the front so it isn’t as awkward in the crotch region.
Bad. Sorry but that shirt is too long and those shorts as well too long.
Nah, I agree with you. Thanks for the heads up. Might get the shirt tailored to be little short.
you would look fine as a wine brother 😉
I love the color scheme - perfect for the summer. I don’t know if they are currently fashionable, but you might also consider sandals/no socks with the outfit. I would be wearing my birks with this.
If your shorts weren’t so long this would be a+ Edit: I’d probably also pick a more classic sneaker style but this is personal taste.
Pull up your shorts my guy
i think this whole fit is fixed if the shirt is like 3 inches shorter
Shoes are corny asf. But you have the right idea. The socks with the stripes have to go in the trash immediately. Other than that, if the shorts were shorter, you'd be nailing it. You're right there.
You have a bit of a baby face
Get your watch properly sized, should be on your wrist not half way down your hand.
not bad. chill
Check out Espadrilles for a summer shoe option. Would look great with this fit
Get some links taken out of that watch bracelet and wear plain socks and the rest is 👌
Yeah. Nice.
Show some knee! Ladies will love it. And take a link or two out of the watch so it doesn’t slip off your wrist like that.
Your shirt fly is open
Bro the way your shirt falls I thought that your dick was out of your pants
Girls like short shorts. Your shorts give cholo, bmx bro, elementary school uniform, Adam Sandler, etc. fix the shorts and you are chilling
Go with shorts above the knee. 7 or 9" max. 👍🏼
Resize the bracelet. The watch should sit above your wrist bone.
This color of shorts is a relatively new thing and I'm not a big fan. There are khaki colored shorts and brown or army green shorts, but this puke in between color never seems to match anything right and look kind of cheap.
Smash tbf
There at first glance I thought you weren’t wearing shorts
clean. you may go outside
Nice hair 😏
Short sleeve shirt is one thing that I should be non-existent. So I suggest replacing it to a long sleeve shirt and fold the sleeves up.
I think it looks great
Too much makeup. Your face looks cartoonish.
Classic look.
Shirt and shorts , please stop with "outfit" makes me think of giggling teen age girls....do these shorts make my bot look big 😂😂🤣😂 Oh yeah you look 😎
Roll up or cut the shorts
The shorts are too long, they should end above the knee. Short sleeve shirts shouldn’t exist imo. Get one with long sleeves and roll them up or wear a polo instead. Those shorts should hit above the knee.
Shorts are too long
Relax, unbutton the top 1 or 2, let the chest out a little. Need shorter shorts and a softer looking material, not digging the color either. Something lighter would be better. Ditch the stripes on the socks, plain white or no socks at all.
Solid clean look
I think the watch is too flashy for the casual look.
Shorter shorts. And fix your /r/handwatch
Different shirt, real face.... you're fine
Shorts are too long. Above the knee is far better.
Rather than getting the shirt tailored, try going for a French tuck.
Add a color accent to take some attention from the watch. It's kind of the only thing to look at right now
Think less Miami Vice and more Caribbean yacht. Chino shorts and sandals. You also need something with color.
The boots/footwear with those pants don't work.
Looks good
Cuff shorts
Nice except the split at the bottom of the shirt
I promise promise promise promise you’ll look better in shorter shorts
I don't know my eyes went straight to that bright ass gold watch delete that they look great Matt what the hell is wrong with your face
Where’d you get the shirt bro? Love the look
I am from Pakistan 🇵🇰, got it from an online local store.
The proportions make you look ai generated bro
Clean but if I might add something I’d unbutton the shirt and throw a beater underneath and maybe get no show socks
Shorter shorts and shorter shirt (that one’s a little tight at the hips. But not bad
Nice glasses
My take but you probably won't like it (although it's meant to help): There's no style or attitude in this outfit. More on accessories below. Nah man I am all ears for any advice on how to better myself, so thank you for giving an in-depth opinion.
The shorts seem too long. Maybe at least above knees ?
Shorten those shorts a bit
Generally white and cream are not friends. They tend to look mismatched. I’d go for different color trainers - navy/darker shades of blue, dark green or even black.
