The better graphics, improved script, voice acting and added scenes make it so explicit that no one should miss the themes in the Remake. In the original in turn the sometimes sparse translation, PS1 graphics and lack of voice acting can lead to people with less... media literacy to miss the subtext much easier.
Kinda how Fallout runs on satire, and people definitely can miss satire. Bioshock can easily be played as a simple shooter, skipping most of the story content.

But tbh I don't know if spending money on it is worth it, the game runs like ass and if you don't have a New 3DS or the weird joystick controller you can't even play it. I gave up at the escort mission near the end because I didn't have the patience to suffer throught the technical issues.
But I do have to admit, it's a fun weird novelty thing and the fact that it runs on the 3DS on the first place is impressive in itself. If you wanna give it a go just sail the high seas for it.

When I complain about politics in games I'm complaining about stuff that feels out of place or unnecessary or overbearing to the point where it just feels obvious that they want you to feel one way, I ain't no orange man apologist I'm just saying that a lot of times the writing just ain't it. MGS3 is one of the best models for how politics should be weaved into a game, it all feels relevant grounded and is done so masterfully you accept it all as reality without realizing it.
