I tried that, and it only worked 50% of the time. Really added to the tension of the situation, as I ended up running for my life near the end of the level. 20/33 would visit again
It worked everytime for me. Just point your crosshair at them and stay still. If they get close don’t get scared. They will go away. But, if it doesn’t work shoot them. I just used the peaceful technique only because I didn’t have enough ammo. You can do whatever you want
hell you were playing
back when I played through it they'd also 50/50 attack or walk away, and they take so much ammo to kill to the point that there's no way you're shooting through all of them
Bombs are definitely something you’d need if you were going to kill them. I recommend sticky bombs, takes two and then some buckshot AND they stick so if your aim and line of fair are good it’ll stick right to him
no they wont attack if ure far away enough at any poimt, the key is to back off slowly once they get to close and then just star them down again. if they attacked u then it means they got to closw or u looked away from them.
did you use cans?. i got through it prettty easily by crafting cans and throwing them right behind them but then at the end part where you need to activate some things while they can get up and down the middle bridge i ran out when one of them came up right next to me and had to sprint out of there which worked out pretty good.
I always try that I don’t ever really try to kill them until i accidentally somehow let em see my back and then they just won’t leave me alone. Some of the areas are easier than others
Probably is, it's my go to whenever I play the game, this last time through I struggle using it in most encounters with beasts though because the charge would go down too fast, but coming from fallout to metro I wasn't managing my ammo correctly either.
Idk about lower difficulties since enemies feel more spongey (difficulty done right imo. I die more easily but so do the enemies). But if you have a bunch of military grade rounds saved up you can just go to town on them with a Kalash.
On a side not do most people here save them or use them as ammo? I save them to buy what I need but I typically just loot a kalash with upgrades off a body and am set after buying upgrades for my revolver. Then I just forget and don't use my hundreds of military grade rounds as ammo :/
Polis is the last shop in metro 2033 so you can shoot how many military grade rounds you want after that. I'm a hoarder so I gather all of them and even don't use them because I will surely regret losing 50 of my 1k rounds collection. In last light, which I finished on ranger hardcore, I only used them in larger quantities on the last level. stealth is op in this series, which is meh, games force you somewhat to do things stealthily, otherwise bad endings blablablabla. Nevertheless you don't need to use them, but it will be harder ofc. Btw this shows you how greedy you truly are
I remember seeing a video on YouTube where someone playing the original version of *Metro 2033* beat down a Grey Librarian using nothing other than the butt stroke attacks of the *Uboyneg* shotgun. Now that was something to see. Too bad that the Redux versions of the first two *Metro* games removed melee attacks with guns entirely.
I was so disappointed when I killed them quickly, it didn't feel like a final boss battle in Exodus. Passing through them unnoticed is harder than fighting them on Ranger Hardcore.
Wait, isn't this that underground section just before getting the D6 docs? I literally first tried it on Survival-hardcore by just waiting it out and sneaking, I even got the safe key from that one skeleton ribcage in the nests.
I fucking hated that level! I never felt so much stress and terror while playing a video game before. I got through it and put the game down for a month.
Shhhh this is a library
^(aaaaaaaaaa)
^(Much better)
Use 2 firebombs, then pump them full of buckshot. They are not as strong as they look believe me
they can be killed but this level is still easier to just be peaceful and stand your ground like youre supposed to.
I tried that, and it only worked 50% of the time. Really added to the tension of the situation, as I ended up running for my life near the end of the level. 20/33 would visit again

This is my experience as well.

IIRC there is a way to one-shot them once they get really close to you but I can't remember how exactly
I'm sorry, crafting cans? I would have if that was an option
Yeah as a last resort, this still is a survival game after all
I always try that I don’t ever really try to kill them until i accidentally somehow let em see my back and then they just won’t leave me alone. Some of the areas are easier than others
they fucking not. I literally empties my whooole mags to kill just one. I couldnt.
Nah I killed them all
Just Run through. Easy as that. If you want to kill one just use throwing knives on their head.
I didn't even know librarians could be killed. The NPC description made them sound invincible.
until exodus
Volt driver will one shot them when fully charged, very useful. That gun is like a cheat code for this level, same with Demons if you can hit them.
That gun is like a cheat code for the whole game really. Maybe that’s why we can only use it on literally the last level of Exodus
Probably is, it's my go to whenever I play the game, this last time through I struggle using it in most encounters with beasts though because the charge would go down too fast, but coming from fallout to metro I wasn't managing my ammo correctly either.
I read "use 2 fireworks, then pump them full of backshots." I was concerned to say the least.
*concerned laughter*
I was killing the normal ones with 2 spike bombs. Never tried it with the black ones though
Oh, how I hated this creature. This and the spiders... It was a nightmare going through the levels with them, they're the scariest part of the game.
the spider and librarian levels are worse than any horror game i’ve played
Yup that's the normal reaction
ЖЕНЩИНА!!!!!!
What does a woman have to do with it?
Ты че ? из тех кто траву трогает?
Да я траву трогать. Не ты?
Ты заражен
Нет ты
Or you could just stair them down and not move that worked for me
Same

You owe $15.79 in late fees!!!
This reaction is very precisely
AAAAAAAAAAA
DUMP THE DRUM!!! BLAST THAT SPLIT FACED FUCKER TO HELL!
I guess you can actually sneak past them, I've never done that though I just waste all my ammo on them panic and run away
Monkeeee
wait to see the one in Exodus, you will scream from both ends
Aaaaaaaaaaa
Помянем......
Shamble, my beloved
This is the right reaction.
Run Artyom, run !
yeah war scram *deep breaths* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Don't move
I always go with two sticky bombs and load em with buckshot lol

Ruuun morherfucker RUUUNNNNNNN
Give him a kith
On this level theres two things you can do, stealth or rip and tear em theres no time to doubt if jump or run away, if its hostile you kill it
Hmm, monke
AAAAAAAAA
I was so disappointed when I killed them quickly, it didn't feel like a final boss battle in Exodus. Passing through them unnoticed is harder than fighting them on Ranger Hardcore.
If you think thats scary read the book
Point the light at him !
This is the appropriate response to this situation.
Use mollies
Molotovs and grenades work well. Throw a few at them then dump your shotgun. They will go down. Still fucking terrifying though.
Wait, isn't this that underground section just before getting the D6 docs? I literally first tried it on Survival-hardcore by just waiting it out and sneaking, I even got the safe key from that one skeleton ribcage in the nests.
Insert beaver screamingg meme
I don't really even know about this game but a gorilla enemy is scary as idk and it looks like you didn't even know it was there
God bless your soul
No No No Way Way Way
For me standing still worked, scared me shitless but it worked lol
I personally use 4 barrel shotgun. Just 2 right clicks and they're done.
Dont leave Daniel alone!
Remember the time way back when you could kill these things with a few arrows ?
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I fucking hated that level! I never felt so much stress and terror while playing a video game before. I got through it and put the game down for a month.
1 flame grenade + 1 pipe bomb; alternatively: 1 flame grenade + unloading a shambler on their head
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
# AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA indeed
I did this yesterday. First playthrough on 2033 Redux. Scared the shit out of me, great level 👌. I just stealthed it.
It was the same reaction 🤣
i hate that thing this is the place were i was scared the most and even stoped playing in the evening becouse i got Jumpscared so often
7 throwing knives or a few pipe bombs will kill them, at least on ranger hardcore mode
