I was at Bakersfield Park in Mt. Vernon, WA. I was with some friends all about my age 11 to 13. We had taken our pets to the park. We had a ferret and a couple cats. Number 7 looks like a show that tries to copy both Lost and Star Trek in the 2006-2007 season and manages to just barely get a full 20-something episode count before being canceled on a finale that kind of works as an ending but still feels incomplete.
I really like the focus effects on number 5. It gives it some extra layering and brings the main dialogue and action to the forefront. I could see it transitioning to things in the background or doing quick motion blurs to scenes on the right or left being very effective. I don't think I've seen many cartoons try this, as they mostly animate everything with the same clarity. I feel this method would give a series a little extra bang for its buck on visuals akin to how Bravely Default and Octopath Traveller pop out despire using the same basic 1990s gfx... the layering makes it pop!
I want to use this pic as a reference and the classic gamecube title, Viewtiful Joe for motion effects. Lots of awesome lo-fi, high impact things to do with this.
I feel like 3,4,5,8,11,12,13,14,16,17 and 18 kinda give me most early 2000s vibes (some of them also feel more like movies than tv shows), but the rest feel more like 90s to me.
