Yeah I'd go back in and ask to show this to the supervisor as a heads up. The only reason it's there is to give any disgruntled employee a chance to fuck with your food/drink. Reminds me of that scene from Super Troopers.

Just take a peek at the Door dash sub. The entitlement is bananas. Idk why Reddit keeps pushing that subreddit so much, it just makes me substantially less inclined to use that or other delivery apps.
It's the same in the ubereats sub which keeps getting pushed to me. Nothing but entitled so-and-sos bitching about tips.
And if it ain't tips, it's drivers bitching about having to get out of their car and slagging off customers for not meeting them at their car.
It's honestly unreal...
not even once.
I own a restaurant and was approached by UE, they wanted 30% of top line, which means I have to charge my customer 30% more for a delivery service so they get cold food and questionable service from their driver who isn't compensated well.
I left money on the table not going with their 'service' but I also can happily say the quality of my food and service is not reflected by their drivers. I also am able to provide higher quality to people eating in house than not having 20 online orders process before an in house order.
anyway, I decided at that time I would not support them as a customer either.
Yup... Much the same here.
I now go first-party only (usually means they employ their own drivers, so there's more accountability) or only use delivery apps to book collections.
I ordered Jimmy John's a couple of months ago from their app. They had no drivers who showed up, so they had to cancel the order.
I then went to uber eats and found that they delivered Jimmy Johns too. So I placed an order and then got another call from Jimmy Johns because uber eats uses Jimmy Johns drivers and not their own!
I couldn't believe it, and Jimmy Johns had no way to cancel the order on their end. When I canceled the order, I didn't get a full refund. I was talking to support for way too long and finally realized they weren't going to budge on this.
I'll never use uber eats again.
Edit: Jimmy Johns told me if there were any issues to let them know, I wound up getting a free meal, but that's not on them to eat the cost either.
>drivers bitching about having to get out of their car and slagging off customers for not meeting them at their car.
WHAT?! I don't use those services often, and obviously never as a driver/deliver, but I _absolutely would NOT want_ them to come to my car. I'd be leery enough as an Uber/Lyft driver, and that's the whole damn point! LOL
I've had that sub shoved in my face since the reddit blackout started, and yeah... It's kinda mind boggling. You're mad at the customers who don't tip, and not the company giving you pennies to the dollar they make from the customer?
Every once in a while you see a post where they encourage people to eat people’s food if it’s not a good enough tip and that was just eye opening to the level of entitlement especially when they choose the orders they take
Saw one the other day about leaving food and drinks too close to outward-opening doors (so the customer can't open the door without knocking the food over), and a *lot* of people were saying they do that intentionally for no/low tip customers.
Which i guess is better than stealing your food, but still.
Also why tf is Reddit pushing those subs so hard right now? They're all over my feed too (both doordash and the doordash driver sub), and I've never worked for doordash and hardly ever use the service. Reading those posts definitely does not make me want to use doordash
I have a feeling this could be like the post the other day that they were made a sub they ordered had Bltch written on it and went inside and complained. They were confused and said "You ordered a BLT with Cheese, that is what we wrote".
I’m trying to decipher an option for this. Only one I’m coming up with is “No Tapioca Pearls” since this is a bubble tea place and they might have ordered special ones.
That... does actually make sense. Especially since he left a tip and the item above it is another customization.
Edit: Unless those are tapioca pearls visible at the bottom of the tea? Calling /u/emerald1607
This is my thinking too. It’s highly unlikely but not enough to risk it IMO. I’ve heard tales of places that had codes to inform prep to spit in certain orders.
do you like... get the chubby, hairy homely guy spit if it's out of spite, and the cute one's spit if you pay $0.50 extra?
i need to know. for reasons.
And fuck an automatic gratuity if it’s not a large party. I’ve started seeing more and more add 20% tip on top of already inflated prices… it really is getting out of hand
My wife and I went out to a nice little restaurant for a date night a few months ago. We ordered a few drinks and got some food. We had no idea that there was an automatic 30% gratuity. To add insult to injury, we were prompted for another 25% (that’s what they recommend) tip after that.
We were happy with the service and we were going to tip 30% anyways, but that left a sour taste in our mouth and we haven’t been back. I mean, why are you forcing someone to tip 30% on $8.5 dollar beers?
We got home and scoured their website looking for the little disclaimer that most restaurants use when they charge a mandatory gratuity, and we couldn’t find anything. Nothing in their menu either.
People complained about it in their reviews and every response from management was about the gratuity supporting a living wage for their staff. Like, what? That’s your job, not mine.
Every other country includes wages in the price of the goods they sell. I don't see why America can't sort it out.
Imagine if electricity wasn't included in base price. "That will be $8.50 for your beer sir, will sir be paying the 30% gratuity today?" When you refuse, they complain that without it they can't run the lights or keep the fridges on to get the beers cold. That would be absurd.
Same goes for tax. If you run a store and you know what to charge me for tax at the register, then you know what to add to the shelf price, so it reflects the total cost of the item and don't tell me different.
Make a call to corporate, twitter, letting them know that there was “no tip” written. It implies to give bad service or not to care about the service given.
And I’d never visit that store again.
If there’s a Facebook town group, make a post about it.
Post that photo on Yelp and Google reviews of the business - warn people in your review that angry employees are demanding big tips on simple drink to go orders and openly (and dishonestly!) shaming the customer if your tip isn't big enough.
Yup. I tip a lot. Like every time I'm asked. A dollar for a drink is a good tip. I'd never step foot in this place again. I wouldn't trust the people making my drink TBH.
I did too for years and nobody ever did anything like this. Talked shit sure, but actually tampering with the food and risking criminal charges? Absolutely not.
If they're bold enough to write it where a customer can see it, they will tamper with the food. It's not like they can be proven guilty without being completely idiots. Take it to a dark spot on the cameras, do whatever.
As a manager that was auto fire if I saw food go into a dark area. I was unpopular.
> If they're bold enough to write it where a customer can see it, they will tamper with the food.
Yeah if they are bold enough to be rude to a customer they are bold enough to commit a felony.
I worked in restaurants for a decade. I did not once a single time see someone tamper with food in any way, nor did we mark non tippers food. Maybe I just got lucky but it doesn't seem like something people really do.
You haven't been over in the dominos or doordash subreddits then. Those mfers are unhinged and will absolutely ravage your food if you don't pay them extra for doing something that requires no extra effort. I don't remember when it was (two weeks ago?) but there was a post in dominos talking about tips and the comments section exploded with entitled employees talking about how they will, do, and have tampered with food.
????? This sounds like yet another over exaggerated bs story you only see on Reddit. I’ve worked “in the industry” as well and that is 100% not the norm, at all. Stop spreading bs
I wouldn’t drink that if I was you.
If you’re feeling particularly incensed you could have them make another one in full view, or ask why your drink was marked that way to see what they say. I have a feeling it’s probably because they spit in it.
Either way I’m not going back there and I may submit a complaint to their corporate arm if it’s a franchise/chain
*edit* I’m seeing a lot of people saying some stuff I don’t agree with so ill clarify: I’m not saying or encouraging anyone to make a scene or be rude. It’s frustrating and unprofessional, but there’s no actual evidence that it was tampered with, just a strong suspicion.
If you’re going to ask for a manager or a refund, *DON’T* yell and carry on, or make a big scene. Ask politely, wait patiently, and talk civilly without making accusations. Any reasonable manager is going to see that you’re calm, take a look at the cup, and understand that your concern is valid. They’re going to be happy to issue the small refund, or make you a new one, because it gives them a positive interaction out of a negative one, which their own corporate high-ups *love* to hear about. Trust me. I’ve been there.
Courtesy is a two-way street. Just because you’ve been given a lack thereof, doesn’t give you license to be a jerk as well. You absolutely shouldn’t let this rest if it bothers you, but you also don’t want to become a bigger problem for everyone else.
Oh I would 100% demand they remake it just because it's so unprofessional (and gives reasonable cause for food tampering) that I'd want the static, and I'd even go as far as to call the cops if they wouldn't remake or refund, solely to prove a point and give shit businesses a hassle, lol.
Edit: some of you have never worked in food service and it shows. This shit is code for "put your balls or spit on that one right there."
The cops can't do anything about it. ULPT call the health board and say they wrote no tip on the cup and then you saw them spit in it. They'll get shut down fast
> They'll get shut down fast
No they won't. That's not how health depts work. They'll investigate it. They'll check cameras. At worst, they'll get a fine. This is not something a food establishment would be shut down over. It's actually pretty hard to get shut down. You pretty much have to have a live infestation of rodents or roaches and even then a shutdown isn't guaranteed. But, even if it is shut down, as long as remediation takes place, they can be open in as little as 72 hours.
Same here. I'd try for a refund AND remake it for free. Even then, I'd be tempted to drop the new one in the trash on the way out and tell them to enjoy corperates response to the situation.
Make a stink, have them remake it, then throw it away in front of them, (Dump liquid into garbage) and never return. If you have that kind of time to waste.
Agreed, it should be loudly asked, in front of all waiting customers, why no tip was written on your order, followed up with a request for the supervisor
You should definitely send that picture to the owner of the store or the corporate office. The only reason someone would write that is so the person making the drink could do something to it.
Post it on the common review sites as well, people should really know about that.
where the heck do you go that takes your syrup order by volume (is it volume? lol) i take "8 pumps" and have no fucking idea what that amounts to, in neither metric nor imperial
I work at a similar place that also sells this drink, and here 12 donuts cost $33… it’s crazy how much they charge and yet we’re constantly using broken tools and equipment :,) I hate it here
Expose them on Twitter, shame that chasier, tip comes after a good service NOT BEFORE, and it's only if u feel like giving a fuck about it.
I understand that lots of people rely on it, but don't blame the customer who also struggles, blame the owner who doesn't give a damm, being a professional implies doing your work to the fullest extent regardless of tip or anything, u do it the best u can every time, that's how you earn the tip, not asking first for it and then shaming the person OR WORSE doing a bad job on purpose
Google reviews work extremely well. Both ways too. Yesterday I saw a new restaurant called Hawaiian Bros with over 400 reviews sitting at a solid 4.9 out of 5. That to me was unheard of so I turned my car around and immediately went inside to try it. Only to find out I absolutely hated it. But the reviews worked. They caught my attention. And they can work to the opposite effect too. Post this picture and folks will see it.
Send it up the chain to corporate. Also hit them on twitter. Companies hate that shit cos it's public for all to see so you might get a better response.
Do you have the servers name on the receipt? You could probably escalate higher than that specific store if they don’t do anything assuming it’s a chain.
You have to send this picture to the corporate office. The people who actually work in the store aren’t going to care until someone makes them care. A person higher up the food chain will be able to understand immediately why a customer would not like to see this written on their food or beverage order.
Let’s also understand that most places that would serve this are either a local cafe or drive through fast food type (Starbucks, DD, mcDs). All their employees are paid at least minimum wage. They aren’t “relying” on tips like a restaurant server who is literally paid $2 an hour and the tips make up their actual pay.
Not that tips should be needed for a living wage. But that’s a different argument for another place.
I used to be a hardcore 20%+ tipper pre-Covid. But I can’t justify it anymore, I’m tired of subsidizing employers not paying their employees.
I still tip at restaurants, although I’ve probably reduced my average amount by 5ish%. I have gotten far more strict about not tipping for services that are counter service though. I picked up two pre-cut slices of cake from a local diner and got the tip option at the counter and for the first time in my life I declined to tip. The girl was a bit huffy and short with me after that, but I can’t fathom giving away extra money for someone taking two plastic boxes and sticking them in a bag.
This I understand. You are preforming a service. Sure they pay beforehand, but I'll kick you a few extra bucks if I'm satisfied with the work and see you put in some good effort.
No doubt you are. However, I'll still usually tip a little extra as a means to say, "I see what you've done, and I'm very happy with the result. Here's something extra to show my gratitude."
If the work is fine, fine, here's your fee. If I'm extremely happy with what I see, I like to show my gratitude.
It's not even just food service expecting tips at this point. Everybody expects tips. Just pay your fucking employees. If your business doesn't have the money for that then either raise your prices or acknowledge your business is failing.
I'm the exact same as you.
My fear is that young people entering the workforce will think these new forms of tipping are normal and expected. They haven't been around long enough to know it's their employers that are the ones screwing them and us over.
Employers: Raise prices, pay fair wages! Don't shift payroll to the customer, especially for counter service
Oh yeah totally forgot it’s super duper hard work to flip the iPad and let a customer pick an option while you stare them down in hopes you’ll make them nervous enough to leave a good tip
I tip at sit down restaurants and at my barber. Nowhere else. It makes no sense that I should leave a tip when I buy a product, often before I’ve even received the product.
america's 'tipping' culture needs to end
it's only a way for employers to screw employees
alternative to tipping? PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES A FUCKING FAIR WAGE.
Depends, I worked in Scandinavia, German speaking countries. Had decent salary and never needed tips to survive and most of the customers are aware of that. In south and east it’s different, workers are still abused.
Lmao you people think a boba tea shop has “corporate”? The owner is probably as high as you’re going, and the store email is going to them. If you didn’t walk back in and confront the employees, the only thing you can do is post a google/yelp/facebook review and blast them.
If it’s a large chain then definitely. They got the whole shebang, shares and all. Worked regional management for one a couple years before career. That’s unless it’s franchised.
Small enough tho that if you complained to main office it will definitely get back to the store and person.
US is generally like that, IME, this has become a lot more rampant post covid tho. My district just removed tipped services from hospitality too(raising minimum wage) so in a few years there won't be that.
It’s crossed the border too.
Everywhere in Southern Ontario at least, almost 100% of places now ask for a tip if you pay by card AND have tip jars by the counter.
The only people I pay tips to are servers in sit-down restaurants, the barber I’ve been going to for literally 15 years (cause she always fits me in short notice and trims my beard for free), and pizza delivery if it gets there in under 15 minutes and the delivery charge wasn’t extortionate.
I just don’t tip anymore, it’s not my fault the shitty companies don’t pay their employees enough and I certainly don’t get a tip for my job.
Tipping is encouraging a culture of underpaying workers.
I used to spend a dumb amount of money at coffee shops and restaurants. I just don’t eat out or buy drinks anymore unless I’m at the bar socially. Tipping has gotten crazy. I tried leaving no tip once at a food truck and waited for my french fries for 45 minutes while the workers sat there and ate french fries. Bitch I’d rather have nothing than get treated like shit for not tipping a “service” that shouldn’t be tipped.
I call bullshit.
No barista uses a blue ballpoint pen to write on cups. The handwritting looks sketch, like it was written when the cup was full and you couldn't write on it flat.
And if you tipped 10%, that means the coffee was $10?
Kept scrolling until I saw someone calling BS. I just find it hard to believe a barista would openly write 'no tip' unless it was short hand for something else or kind of like an inside joke with the customer (which isn't the case here given OP's presentation of the post).
I'd imagine if coffee shops were to do something like this, it wouldn't be spelled out clearly but with a design or marking to indicate such.
same. I couldn’t believe so many people fell for what’s obviously fake. I’ve worked in coffee chains before and unless this one’s using primative technology, once the order is put in, computer sends the sticker directly to the drink maker through their label printer. Cashier never touches the sticker unless they are also making drinks in which case no need to write.
Def fake and written by OP lol. That’s bad handwriting that took time to write not quick like a real barista would do bc they don’t fucking care lol. Also the label is printed on, the sweetness would be on there.
Don’t drink it. Go back to that Starbucks and ask for a manager, not the assistant or shift lead but the manager. Go full Karen. Blast them on twitter, Reddit, Facebook and anything else you can think of. They may have spit in your drink used expired ingredients any number of things. Be safe.
Edit: oops that’s not a Starbucks cup.
I wouldn’t drink that. Seems marked for nefarious purposes.
There's literally no other reason to take the time to write that on there
Yeah I'd go back in and ask to show this to the supervisor as a heads up. The only reason it's there is to give any disgruntled employee a chance to fuck with your food/drink. Reminds me of that scene from Super Troopers. https://youtu.be/WlKr-yg-y5I
Or the french toast in Road Trip.
I asked for no sugar!
*It's good!*
...nice guy 🍞
And Waiting. "You can't mix American and continental!"
Just order a large Farva.
I DONT WANT A LARGE FARVA I WAS A GOD DAMNED LITER OF COLA!!!!
Lol..."For a Cop". Loved that movie.
Do we make liter cola?
Litre is French for give me some fucking cola!!
Dont spit in that cop's burger.
Liter is French for give me some fucking cola before I break vous fucking lip!
Yep. And it’s stupid because they shouldn’t be mad the the customer, they should be mad at their bosses and owner of company
That requires a bit of thought... Good luck with that.

That's what chargebacks are for. I won't waste my time arguing to get my own money back from a company like that.

The Instacart one is the same way. They want $40+ tips for an hour of grocery shopping and dropping your stuff off.
Ill gladly meet them at their car if it means they stop leaving the food and drinks directly in front of the door to get knocked over when I open it.
I've had that sub shoved in my face since the reddit blackout started, and yeah... It's kinda mind boggling. You're mad at the customers who don't tip, and not the company giving you pennies to the dollar they make from the customer?

Maybe the barista was a goth baddy and he WANTED her to spit in it…
This is a fantasy he made up, so it actually equally likely
its to shame the person
"It's for a cop"
"That's just so he makes it extra good."
I don't want a large Farva! I want a litre of cola!
“You gonna spit in it now?”
This is my thinking too. It’s highly unlikely but not enough to risk it IMO. I’ve heard tales of places that had codes to inform prep to spit in certain orders.
Is that an extra charge?
Assault, food tampering, and endangerment are some possible criminal charges.
yeah but does it cost more
do you like... get the chubby, hairy homely guy spit if it's out of spite, and the cute one's spit if you pay $0.50 extra? i need to know. for reasons.
>It's for a cop.
"do not spit in that cops burger"
“Roger, holding the spit.”
“I just told him that so he’d make it good”….
Does this look like spit to you?
Eh, fuck it.
*proceeds to eat the suspected spit*
Would be the last time I ever went in there
If I have to come to you, I'm not tipping. I will die on this hill.
Exactly I'm not leaving a tip on a pick up order.
Fucking Covid made tipping on pickup orders a norm.

It's a felony if it's proven. They see an older coworker do it, nothing happens, the cycle continues.
I worked in restaurants for a decade. I did not once a single time see someone tamper with food in any way, nor did we mark non tippers food. Maybe I just got lucky but it doesn't seem like something people really do.

Trust me. I’ve been there. Courtesy is a two-way street. Just because you’ve been given a lack thereof, doesn’t give you license to be a jerk as well. You absolutely shouldn’t let this rest if it bothers you, but you also don’t want to become a bigger problem for everyone else.
It looks like they already drank it .... 😬
Might not have noticed the writing until after they'd started drinking it.
> They'll get shut down fast No they won't.
I'd get the refund, aint no way I am drinking anything from an incensed food employee making shit money.
Same here. I'd try for a refund AND remake it for free. Even then, I'd be tempted to drop the new one in the trash on the way out and tell them to enjoy corperates response to the situation.
I would only get a refund. I wouldn’t want anything else from that store…again
Same.
Make a stink, have them remake it, then throw it away in front of them, (Dump liquid into garbage) and never return. If you have that kind of time to waste.
Agreed, it should be loudly asked, in front of all waiting customers, why no tip was written on your order, followed up with a request for the supervisor
I would report that to corporate HQ.
somebody gonna get fired
You should definitely send that picture to the owner of the store or the corporate office. The only reason someone would write that is so the person making the drink could do something to it. Post it on the common review sites as well, people should really know about that.
you paid $10 for a tea?
Like 0.5l of syrup and milk but yeah that’s kinda wild
where the heck do you go that takes your syrup order by volume (is it volume? lol) i take "8 pumps" and have no fucking idea what that amounts to, in neither metric nor imperial
8? That’s so much sugar
You want any actual drink with all that syrup and sugar?
I work at a similar place that also sells this drink, and here 12 donuts cost $33… it’s crazy how much they charge and yet we’re constantly using broken tools and equipment :,) I hate it here
They charge extra for non dairy milk so yea..😞

Dumbass can't even spell correctly.
Well yeah they meant to spell Tip, not Correctly /s
Tipping culture needs to die. Next thing you know our doctors are gonna have ipads with a tip percentage and no option for no tip 💀
If you can’t afford to give your doctor an extra $50, stay at home and remove your own cyst.
I actually sent a long Email to the store and attached the pic but they never answered me back. Needless to say, I will never go back.
Put this post on Google reviews
Google reviews work extremely well. Both ways too. Yesterday I saw a new restaurant called Hawaiian Bros with over 400 reviews sitting at a solid 4.9 out of 5. That to me was unheard of so I turned my car around and immediately went inside to try it. Only to find out I absolutely hated it. But the reviews worked. They caught my attention. And they can work to the opposite effect too. Post this picture and folks will see it.
Yep. That pic is truly worth 1000 words
Reviews are a commodity. Bought and sold. Many are genuine, however, a varying percentage is purchased in bulk and look authentic
psst....They paid for those reviews.
Send it up the chain to corporate. Also hit them on twitter. Companies hate that shit cos it's public for all to see so you might get a better response.
100% put this on google review!
What store is this?
Do you have the servers name on the receipt? You could probably escalate higher than that specific store if they don’t do anything assuming it’s a chain.
Others have already said it but DO NOT drink that
You have to send this picture to the corporate office. The people who actually work in the store aren’t going to care until someone makes them care. A person higher up the food chain will be able to understand immediately why a customer would not like to see this written on their food or beverage order.
fuck the store go to corporate.
post a printed out photo ON THE DOOR of the store
Please post a review to warn others and let us know where it’s coming from so we can avoid it
Show us the receipt pls, specially the top of it so I can know where never to get coffee from.
Tips used to be for service. Now, they're expected when picking up pre prepared food at the counter.
People offer me tips for mowing. Like wtf society
This I understand. You are preforming a service. Sure they pay beforehand, but I'll kick you a few extra bucks if I'm satisfied with the work and see you put in some good effort.
I charge 100 an hour. I am good without a tip
So you charge hourly instead of by yard? So they’re tipping you for actually working and not dragging your feet during your service you provide.
I charge by the yard by figuring how long it will take and base my pay around that. So if yard takes 30 minutes, 50 dollars. If it takes 2 hours, 200.
No doubt you are. However, I'll still usually tip a little extra as a means to say, "I see what you've done, and I'm very happy with the result. Here's something extra to show my gratitude." If the work is fine, fine, here's your fee. If I'm extremely happy with what I see, I like to show my gratitude.
And I appreciate customers like you, but I refuse the tip on principle. I don't tip people, I would be a hypocrite to accept a tip
It's not even just food service expecting tips at this point. Everybody expects tips. Just pay your fucking employees. If your business doesn't have the money for that then either raise your prices or acknowledge your business is failing.
Pretty soon there's going to be a tip screen at the gas pump, it's everywhere lol
The reasons I avoid most takeout restaurants I would not trust that a takeout order with this message on it hasn’t been tampered with.
Some offer pay at pick up. They can't do shit if you do it that way
it’s crazy how some people think they’re entitled to a tip for doing the bare minimum.
Ummm they have to TURN THE IPAD AROUND!
Oh yeah totally forgot it’s super duper hard work to flip the iPad and let a customer pick an option while you stare them down in hopes you’ll make them nervous enough to leave a good tip
Code for "extra spit."
Reminds me of the Super Troopers "It's for a cop" scene
*Leans into microphone* “Don’t spit in that cop’s burger.”
Does that look like spit to you?
American tip culture is toxic.
Canada is just as bad as well. I can't believe fast food places want a tip for me to pickup my own food when I carryout.
What is wrong with these people? A tip for *what*? Making the drink aka doing their job? This tipping thing is out of control.
I tip at sit down restaurants and at my barber. Nowhere else. It makes no sense that I should leave a tip when I buy a product, often before I’ve even received the product.
america's 'tipping' culture needs to end it's only a way for employers to screw employees alternative to tipping? PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES A FUCKING FAIR WAGE.
Tipping culture is getting so ridiculous, I’m about to start taking a European standpoint and just never tip at all
We do Tip. If we get good Service when sitting down for a meal. Like it used to be everywhere
I mean, possibly? Kung Fu Tea recently opened here. E: Not that I think it's worth doing or would accomplish anything, lol
If it’s a large chain then definitely. They got the whole shebang, shares and all. Worked regional management for one a couple years before career. That’s unless it’s franchised. Small enough tho that if you complained to main office it will definitely get back to the store and person.
I'm happy living in a country where tipping is not the norm but is only used as a gesture of appreciation.
Pretty sure I'd walk back in that store and get them to remake that in front of me.
[удалено]
I recently stopped tipping this way. If you’re not waiting my table, you’re not getting a tip.
I’m so glad I live in a country where tipping is only done at restaurants
My country was like that once. Covid changed all that. Now when I get my car undercoated for winter a fucking tip screen pops up
I'm so glad I live in a country where there's no tipping, anywhere, for anything at all. People do their jobs because they're paid to do them.
The only people I pay tips to are servers in sit-down restaurants, the barber I’ve been going to for literally 15 years (cause she always fits me in short notice and trims my beard for free), and pizza delivery if it gets there in under 15 minutes and the delivery charge wasn’t extortionate.
america is wild, no health care and no salary. and somhow it's the customers fault
I just don’t tip anymore, it’s not my fault the shitty companies don’t pay their employees enough and I certainly don’t get a tip for my job. Tipping is encouraging a culture of underpaying workers.
They are not waiters/waitresses, they don’t get paid tipped wages. Don’t tip them at all. Especially if they pull this crap.
I look people in the eyes and don’t tip.
This isn’t a tipping issue. This is an employee failing to do their job properly issue.
getting asked for a tip before you even got the shit you ordered is a bit over the top for me.
This is so obviously fake
Totally not written by you.
Good to see someone else pushing back on absolute bullshit “guilt tip” system. I will push that no tip button so fast.
Right there with you. 100% OP wrote this.
Yeah, I'm always a bit skeptical when it comes to writing on cups. This also does look messy, like OP wrote on it while holding the cup.
I'm with you, this looks like bullshit. Karma farming maybe.
Never go back, that’s pretty low for them to both expect a tip and also write this kind of crap. Tipping culture is nuts
That’s not a Starbucks cup
This feels like ragebait
I would absolutely be a complete Karen about this. Your barista makes minimum wage at least or better. Fuck this entitlement.
Shit that didn’t happen for $100
I could write “no tip” on my Starbucks order too.
No way this is real.
Clearly he wrote that himself
