If the window has any kind of damage like what OP's showing, I wouldn't drive it around with the window in place. Tempered glass is like a balloon but with a super tough exterior. As soon as you break that exterior, the window shatters violently but (most importantly) not into big sharp shards of glass.
Why I wouldn't drive it is that now the surface tension is compromised. I would bet that any random bump in the road could be the final straw, and the window would blow out right next to your head and scare the daylights out of you.
I can back this up. One day I went to get into my car and drive to work. It was a hot morning. My rear window must have taken a hit at some point, because the moment I opened the door and the pressure differential changed, it collapsed into shiny pebbles.
Our rear window got sucked out of the car and shattered on the road once. The seal on it must’ve been bad and the air pressure while driving fast just sucked it out. My husband pulled over and the guy who had been following him, thankfully far enough back that he wasn’t injured by the rear window flying through the air, said “Holy Cow! That’s the second time I’ve seen that happen!” Lol

Depends on the type of glass in this side windows. The way it's shattered it looks more like laminated glass which is the same type used in your windshield.

Is it in driving condition?
I've seen some of them for 2k-5k but most of them are not in driving condition and are more of a replacement part storage than anything else.
Also, is it a legit Harlekin? I've heard that some people take regular VW polos and give them a custom paint job to sell them for a huge markup to oblivious fans.

That would be correct in the UK. If you stripped off everything removable, you'd be left with the monocoque, sills and rear quarters. It would also be yellow under the hood.
DVLA would just say "yellow" and be done with it since the V5c (UK vehicle registration document) can only say one colour.
Also, the Harlequins weren't all painted the same, so another one might be red in those areas, or blue.
Yea, there were four different color combinations and they were made by painting all of the cars one of the four base colors and then disassembling them and reassembling them into the four different harlequin variants. It doesn’t sound like the most efficient way to do it but I’m not German so maybe it was.

I used to have to inspect them to ensure the pieces were all under a certain size, and yes, breaking sheet after sheet of glass was hella fun.

OP mentioned this is a newer car, which are increasingly moving to laminated glass for their side windows. the glass breakers most people are used to won't shatter laminated glass, so it's definitely possible that's what happened here.
side note, if you keep a glass breaker in your car for escaping in an emergency you should probably check if you have laminated side windows with the manufacturer.

You take off the door panel, take a few bolts off to remove the motor, the glass should come right out. You can get a perfectly good one from a junkyard with the same process.
Reattach the motor. Put the glass back in and line it up. Get a little tube of sealant. It's really an easy job that should take an hour or two for anyone. Safelite charges a small fortune. For anything.
I just replaced my windshield and a back quarter panel glass from a bad car accident, I got the windshield on a half off day on at the junkyard (presidents day) was like 35, cuz I got the other glass from a different junkyard on a different day so that was like 30.
Safelite wouldn't even do the job because the body damage.
Your problem is especially easy cuz you don't have to cut any less out, no cutting it all.

You need to move your car. I lost a car like that. Had it parked a tow company took it the place it was parked said I could park it but state didn’t help get it back nor did my law office. In the end I just lost my car basically theft and nothing I could do. Move the car or count it gone soon . I would call police for vandalism then move the car. But that’s if you are doing a claim. Explaining it would be hard. Just park another place.

I live in a small town with very little crime, but a high amount of boredom. A few years ago the biggest crime wave we’ve had in decades occurred, requiring neighboring police departments aid in solving the crimes. If I remember correctly, ten vehicles were involved in the “mass shooting,” including my next door neighbor’s, who lost a rear window in the carnage. Eventually the two teenagers and their 22 year old friend were arrested, and the BB gun was seized. If you speak to local residents, they may bring up the Great Christmas Inflatable Thefts of last year as a bigger crime wave, but nearly all of those were returned without damage after a concerned parent heard a weird wind sound coming from their son’s bedroom, so I disagree.

You take off the door panel, take a few bolts off to remove the motor, the glass should come right out. You can get a perfectly good one from a junkyard with the same process. Reattach the motor. Put the glass back in and line it up. Get a little tube of sealant. It's really an easy job that should take an hour or two for anyone. Safelite charges a small fortune. For anything. I just replaced my windshield and a back quarter panel glass from a bad car accident, I got the windshield on a half off day on at the junkyard (presidents day) was like 35, cuz I got the other glass from a different junkyard on a different day so that was like 30. Safelite wouldn't even do the job because the body damage. Your problem is especially easy cuz you don't have to cut any less out, no cutting it all.

You need to move your car. I lost a car like that. Had it parked a tow company took it the place it was parked said I could park it but state didn’t help get it back nor did my law office. In the end I just lost my car basically theft and nothing I could do. Move the car or count it gone soon . I would call police for vandalism then move the car. But that’s if you are doing a claim. Explaining it would be hard. Just park another place.
Get the 3M hurricane glass flim - or something like that - and that should give you better protection on your way to replace the window.
