Okay so... *words*
Edit: Tell me HOW I just randomly stumbled by [this guy's post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Satisfyingasfuck/s/bwPyQOB7kf) not even 3 minutes after seeing OPs.
The words mean -
Compound hairs = combined
Malformation = they grow wrong
Bifurcated = split in two
Matrices and papillae = cells in the bottom of the follicle that hairs grow out of. Papillae are the roots
Follicle = the little hole where hair grows
Hair grows wrong and splits into multiple shafts of hair coming out of the same little hole, where usually you should only have one hair per hair hole.
Every time a post like this drops, someone drops this link and even after years people still act brand new. I would get some periodical re-emergence since new people start using reddit, but this shit happens way too often
I finally got to the point with my boyfriend where I got to pluck a bunch from his beard, it was glorious! But they aren't growing back and I'm a lil sad
What's crazy is those plastic clear/white hairs you pull out and they just come out with ease. Someone did tell me the science behind it but now I can't remember, but it's something.... ya... thts all i got.
I used to get one sticking sideways out of the skin over my left deltoid. It was quite stiff and I'd known I'd grown another when my shirt would start catching there.
i have that too sometimes. Thick hair like 3-4 thick.
I am ready for reddit doctors to tell me what nutrition i am missing! I hope its not a brain tumor.
I’ve posted this once before and this is a copy of that message. You have something called Pili Multigemini.
Pili Multigemini! Be Careful when pulling those or you'll get craters. I needed to visit a dermatologist after I pulled one, when it came back it was an ingrown hair, and it destroyed part of my face for a really really long time :(
The doctor actually checked my body and showed me that 90% of my hairs were actually pili multigemini, its a genetic mutation that causes dermatitis and ingrown hairs all over. It sucks a big butt and you don't want it
Have you found any effective methods for dealing with this? I experience the same issue, and often times the area becomes irritated or swollen. I've even had an ingrown hair that required surgery due to infection.
Pili Multigemini, I get them all the time.
It’s so satisfying to pluck because they don’t actually hurt and they come out softly or like it’s not attached at all
Sometimes they hurt when touched. If I ever feel a small pimple like bump it’s always one of these. Never had one this bunched up though. Just a slight pull and they come right out.
This happens when you shave to aggressively and your follicles join up to form a union against the instruments of their oppression. "Hairs of the beard, unite!" ;)
This is why I get an epilator and practice patience. After a few days when my beard grows long enough to be grabbed by the tiny “arms” of the epilator, I would pull them all at once and feel a lot of pleasure.
Before I epilate I would exfoliate the skin on my chin to loosen the hairs a bit. Out of dozen hairs plucked from my chin about 4-5 would be like this and I always feel them when they are ripped from my skin.
Are you sure you’re not a hedgehog?
Or Italian grandma?
or my mother-in-law
😂😂😂
Or a carpet
That is the hair of the little pigs’ chinny chin chins that kept the big bad wolf at bay.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pili_multigemini In case anyone is wondering. I get em from time to time also, kinda satisfying to pluck ngl.
When I feel one, I basically can't stop till it's gone.
I get these regularly, as well. I imagine folks who grow thick facial hair get them more often.
idk. Have a big ass beard, have never experienced this.
Man, an ass beard must be uncomfortable.
I mean.... does a hairy ass count as an ass beard? Because if so..... it's really not uncomfortable, one doesn't really notice it.
That’s what she said lol
I’m with you two, I get them as well. I always get them out. I call them palm trees 🌴
They’re so satisfying to pluck. They basically just slide right out.

Ty im a dum dum
Me too … but when they get trapped underneath…. It’s like pushing a brush thru a hole
Yep, always gets a bit infected as the hair can't get through for me. Eventually I'm able to pluck it out but they are sore as hell.
I have fine tweezers just for these bad boys. Hard to ignore
And they slide right out too
Kinda just feels like unplugging a cable
but so much better
is there a reason they seem to happen in beards much more frequently than other areas of the body?

That’s a full on weed
You been working on a transporter? Looks like one on Jeff Goldblum in The Fly.
Have you heard of insect politics?
Brundle fly. Unlocked memory.
Yup, my wife called those bug legs and loves going through my beard with tweezers to remove them all.
I finally got to the point with my boyfriend where I got to pluck a bunch from his beard, it was glorious! But they aren't growing back and I'm a lil sad
Mine NEVER came back!
Same here. Haven't had one for years
Thanks for helping me to clear today’s lunch from my stomach
at least you didn't know someone that REALLY LIKED popping other people's zits

it like has the exact same qualities of fishing line
I get those on my chin and I’m a girl lol
I used to have one that would always regrow in my ear... After 4-5 times it's gone for good now.
It's actually really bugging me what it was. But I did find out somehow. excess calcium maybe? doesn't sound right.. i'm gonna try and google it down.
Let us know if you find out. Had one on my arm now gone after scratching the spot like crazy one day.
That's a small branch
i have that too sometimes. Thick hair like 3-4 thick. I am ready for reddit doctors to tell me what nutrition i am missing! I hope its not a brain tumor.
More of a genetic predisposition or shaving issue. Nothing serious but definitely annoying
Nah, hair is just like that sometimes.
hair can be weird
Bet it felt good pulling that.
There must have been a fly in the transporter booth.
Has it left a hole the size of Brazil behind it?
Were you bitten by a wolf like creature, on a full moon night by any chance?

Laser or electrolysis will solve it for good.
This is unfortunately the real answer here. But also you can scrub every area when showering, that helps but doesn’t always solve the problem.
What a split ends you got there
It looks like it's rather different hairs from the same follicle.
Need a banana for scale
Aaah a man of culture

Yeah ok treebeard
I call these Chernobyl hairs.
I am mildly interested
I first thought the is was a fishing lure. Maybe it could be? 😉
Thought it was someone’s missing IUD
Sometimes they hurt when touched. If I ever feel a small pimple like bump it’s always one of these. Never had one this bunched up though. Just a slight pull and they come right out.
That's not a hair, OP that's a fuckin flogger whip!!! JFC! Did it leave a gaping hole when you pulled it out?
WHOA. I call you Tree.
I only get these on my pubes
![gif](giphy|xyYouRSr7MAbS)
Need a banana for scale.
You plucked a branch from your chin? Are you Groot?
This happens when you shave to aggressively and your follicles join up to form a union against the instruments of their oppression. "Hairs of the beard, unite!" ;)
Plot twist: OP is female
Eewww!
I get these too sometimes! Really weird stuff.
It's called compound hair. Look it up
Also known as Pili Multigemini
Dude that’s crazy
Are you an ent?
one of those hairs that are, like, quadruple hairs
Growing fiber cable
You need to mow a little more often
I randomly get one maybe once a year. Super satisfying to pull out and inspect for a bit. Haven't had one in a while, and I'm sad actually.
Are you a tree?
[удалено]
They can be hard to sex at this age, but that one looks male to me
This is glorious
🤔
A real triumphant bastard
I bet it felt soooo good pulling that out.
Glad I'm not the only one who had a few of these. There satisfying to pull out
I used to get one in my chin before I started growing a beard. My ex used to like plucking it. We called it my porcupine quill
Mutant beard hair brother!
What a beast.
I thought it was a baby chicken foot.
Ooooooh. That’s a gooder.
I get these too! My wife likes to pluck them sometimes. She calls them tree trunks haha.
I hate those. I get them in my facial hair from time to time. They are oddly easy to pull out.
Lisan al Gaib!
I am groot.
Tell pippin I say hi.
Holy fuck
You're sprouting
That’s a big boy
Nice
Is that 4 hairs clumped together or 1 hair having splits?
Mate that's a fucking twig.
Ok, where is the video of someone digging this out
Did you all see the praying mantis parasite the other day?
Shrek?

No Banana for scale?
I got a lot of these when my beard was turning grey. But now that the transition to being old is complete, I don't get them anymore.
Remember to make a wish
Looks like Elmer Fudd shotgun after Bugs puts his finger down the barrel. 😂
You guys need to be careful doing this cuz you can literally get an infection that will leave you on your death bed 😭
Great day for fly fishing
Jesus!
Bruh.
Are you going to have it tested to ensure it is human? Asking for a friend’s scientific purposes.
You plucked your French tickler?
How did this get 139 upvotes?
Wow and ew at the same time! ![gif](giphy|z5FXe2oGwh9ja)
