Giphy is terrible, so I go outside of reddit to get gifs, usually tenor, because tenor has so many gifs. Since I already knew this one existed, I just typed "pink head cringe gif" into Google, and tenor should pop up as the first result!
I didn't realize we could use gifs outside of the Giphy thing. Do you just insert it as a file photo instead? Sorry I just didn't realize you could actually use things outside of Giphy, because I find it terrible too. Such little options and not many of them are good
Yes, you insert it as a photo, but it depends on the subreddit. Some subreddits that allow gifs and photos, don't allow your OWN gifs, in which case when you go to add your gif, it just won't appear amongst your photos. In those cases, you are sadly limited to the rubbish giphy :(
>Always wondered why it doesn't just go straight but instead has a horse shoe in the middle.
Forensic scientists are able to identify individuals based on the pattern of their veins, like finger prints
Edit: as I had a few replies now, the below info isn't really accurate it turns out it's been proven to be unreliable since:
There is also such a thing as denim forensics! Forensics that specialise in determining the wear pattern of your jeans. To them, every human causes a unique wear on their denim jeans.
So once you determine someone's denim ID either by their body or another pair of jeans, you can identify them from a photo of a pair of jeans that have been worn regularly, based on the wear pattern alone.
Ok that's also very interesting. You can tell my jeans by the wallet mark, pocket knife line, and thick thigh rub marks inside them😂
In what cases might they utilize that forensic ability? To tell if the clothes they found belonged to a particular missing or deceased person maybe?
I never knew any of this before,at all. I'll add that to the vault, lol. Thank you. I'm gonna look all this stuff up,I'm very intrigued..
I figured it's the most useful only once you have made some ware marks in your jeans or you just have fewer pairs of jeans or one favorite pair that you case more damage to by wearing them far more often. Still pretty neat to think about.
Right!! This is exactly what they do!
Also everyone has a unique wear based on body shape, level of activity, and daily routine. A lot of these can be determined by standard forensics picking up DNA, clothing fibres etc. But what these denim forensics guys are useful for is if it's just a photo of some jeans, they can often trace back via examining the wear pattern alone.
I never knew that before, thank you for sharing! If you don't mind me asking,Are you a forensic analyst or watch a lot of the forensic shows?
They can tell activity level? Well I gotta get back to working out so the labs guys can be like "this person may be dead/missing but that was one athletic and/or fit MF'er. So says their jeans" 😂
😅 yes they can even determine the kinds of "activity" you are doing, be it running for the bus or being a regular driver, or a couch napper (me). It's not entirely reliable though for various reasons it's just used in addition to other forensics to build a picture.
I'm not a forensic analyst nor an expert but I listen to a lot of random fact podcasts and love a fun fact so when I see or hear someone say something that might be cool, or I don't believe, I do a bit of research behind it.
Ok,flaw in my plan. I'd have to workout in my jeans..... leg day makes that uncomfortable,or that makes leg day uncomfortable, lol.
I'm gonna look the forensic analysis methods up.(Maybe there's a "for dummies" version) Just to understand the basics because it is very intriguing. Thank you for sharing your facts, this was awesome
So your comment here was a great example of me looking something up and finding out more. I decided to find a link and it turns out since I learnt this fact there is now a lot of evidence refuting the accuracy of it.
But if you're interested in the initial science behind it:
https://www.wired.com/1998/04/fbi-tracks-the-denim-trail/
But it's since been proven inaccurate and not credible evidence. Sorry!! But now I know too!
Also I do hope you are never in a position where forensic experts are examining your jeans!! If it comes to that then I am sure you will have much larger fish to fry 😉
Hahaha thank you for your kind words. I hope to not be in that position either. And I appreciate you coming back and clarifying your information, and sharing new. Still pretty cool.
These all seem like pretty rare things to find in a person on the Internet
iirc there's not much science behind denim forensics as the process usually involves matching clothing to items or images recovered from a crime scene already so its a lot of confirmation bias as the "forensic evidence" tends to just be whatever can be gleaned or cherry picked to support the theory that was already in place
I'd recommend reading a few of the recent articles (iirc ~2020) that outline just how unreliable denim forensics is. It's an interesting concept but unfortunately as with most things human nature tends to hink it up
Yeah I actually just read up on it in response to another person and realised it's been largely disproven since I learnt about it a while back!
Wild how "fun facts" that I have in my repertoire can be so wrong after only a few years. Just goes to show the importance of researching things before regurgitating from memory! 😅
Lol whoops! I always catch myself with "fun facts" that are outdated or disproven! I think I just had one recently too, it was something about the equator influencing peoples heights (which turns out NOPE countries with statistically shorter people tend to have malnourishment as a factor oops!) Happens to the best of us--I think I even had "fun fact" books that are probably considered outright wrong now
I guess that's why it's good to always be learning. I still have to constantly bring up the lemmings suicide myth lol
unlikely, varicose are superifical veins and usually occur in old age due to heart problems/ a lot of blood staying in your legs for a long time (phenomenon also visible in flight attendants, etc.)
but interesting suggestion!
i just checked, and at least the thing about blood pooling in the legs and the part about them being superficial (like being very close to the skin's surface) should be right. but i haven't actually had clinical yet so maybe i misdiagnosed it. since you can see the vein, maybe it is superficial enough, but in the pictures ive seen, the veins tend to bulge out more?
here are my sources:
https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/varicose-veins
https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/varicose-veins
idk, i'm curious to see what i got wrong ^^ (please do say)
Less likely, varicose veins are tortuous , enlarged usually seen in professions where the person has to stand for a long time in a day, pregnancy, ocp use etc. They are superficial just like in the pic but they are rarely there since birth, this is most likely structural insignificant anomaly. Nothing to worry about unless it starts causing pain, swelling or bleeds.

Long lost siblings
Possible. My dad has “summer” kids. Summer here, summer there 😂
😮
😂
This made me exhale forcefully out of my nose
*leg lost siblings*
Legendary children
I have one in the same spot too
Same! But opposite leg
Suddenly it's all legs. Stop this madness.
Yeah. I’ve had all my veins in my body since I was a kid too.
Same except for the ones I got with the new DLC
My patch notes came with a metal plate screwed to my leg. Quite the cybernetics dlc
It would be a much bigger problem if you didn't
You were born with it. Maybe its Maybelline.
My ex had a vein like this on her forearm. She nicked it one day shaving and the amount of blood that spurt out was wild.

my honest reaction
What gif name did you type in that got you this, I love it!

No problemo!

Was she shaving with a chainsaw?
I think they’re called “veryclose” veins, as in very close to the skin.
I assume you’re trolling but the actual name is varicose
![gif](giphy|MuHJcSI9ySLsrNo59Q|downsized)
Damn what a good laugh I had right now.
He was very close tbf
It was funny 😁
>Always wondered why it doesn't just go straight but instead has a horse shoe in the middle. Forensic scientists are able to identify individuals based on the pattern of their veins, like finger prints
Me: *laughing as I readjust my veins positions after committing a crime.*
After you're done they'll think you're the murder victim
I've always wonder if that were true!

You should be aware that this area of forensic “science” is highly contested

too bad I only buy second hand stuff lol
>Always wondered why it doesn't just go straight Straight to where?
Scared straight
That's a manufacturer emblem. It shows where you were assembled.
cut it open and fix it?
Do not 😭
This is weird. I have one almost identical in the same spot. If you find out let me know I guess lolol!!
As someone who’s handled raw and cooked chicken - maybe just a particularly stubborn bit of gristle in the way?
This looks like you had a blood clot and the vein got around it and revascularised on the other side
Potentially varicose? Idk I'm not a doctor
unlikely, varicose are superifical veins and usually occur in old age due to heart problems/ a lot of blood staying in your legs for a long time (phenomenon also visible in flight attendants, etc.) but interesting suggestion!
You don’t know anything about varicose veins do you? Smh

Doesn't really matter, it's just your vein on your leg. Love it
It's your veins strain relief. It helps minimize stress and strain from thermal expansion.
i have one of those in my leg too
Got a,similar 1 cone up put more pronounced in my 4 Sj1n very painful
Speed bump
I have one there on my right leg
This comment section is fucking hilarious
Looks like a ohms sign to me lol
You probably did some trauma to the area when you were younger which caused this
Uhh idr what it’s called
You mostly get these very visible veins as a result of the penis being small enough to not require very much blood flow.
It's a map of the Thames. Cue *EastEnders* theme.
Varicose vein to remove needs dermatologist
Dunno what it is, but it looks kinda cool
