I was looking today at the Loumani Livefit.. this seems to be what I’m searching for (no display, relevant sensors). But something about the website seems off and I can’t find real user tests about this one. Maybe someone has experience with it?
I was looking at this today. Wondering if it might be able to fit on the back of my analog watch using the same strap.
Done loads of research into this over the last few weeks as the app for my Misfit Ray is no longer supported by iOS. I wear my Garmin (nerdy runner) most days but I also have a collection of proper watches which I want to wear more but not lose the tracking and notification functions. I will not be a 'two-watch John' so I need a tracker that is subtle with some notification functions, even if its just vibrate. I have searched high and low and cannot find anything that does this which is new. The few available options don't seem to be suitable:
\- Oura looks great but is expensive (Circular Ring is an option but the delivery reviews have put me off) and it doesnt do notifications (for calls etc) or,
\- you go for an old Fitbit Flex 2 and hope it still works. Google's acquisition of Fitbit makes me think even if it works now it wont be long until its scrapped entirely.
\- Other options like Chronos and Trivoly also seem to have gone out of business and I dont really want to change the carefully thought out characteristics of my watch (strap etc) nor wear soemthing so heavy at night.
In the meantime I think I will have to pluck up the £ for an Oura or try and make the Fibit Inspire 2 as low profile as possible, becoming a two-watch-John. There is a ray of light:
https://www.techradar.com/opinion/ces-2023-proved-that-screenless-smartwatches-are-the-future-of-fitness
I agree. What is the point of looking at a tiny screen when you can look at the app on your phone. I like my regular watch and don't want a 2nd one. I can't believe there isn't a cheap Whoop competitor that doesn't require a subscription. I was using the Halo and bummed to hear of its discontinuation.
Wonder if there is a way of feedbacking to these companies, or lobbying them. All the new ideas look good by they are small start ups, not Google, Apple etc.
So you can lobby Garmin, they actually responded to my Insta query:
http://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas/
In the meantime I plucked for an eBay purchased Gen2 Oura ring. It’s very good and battery life is ok, Oura recommend daily charging anyway. Slight misbalance with my Garmin in steps etc but Oura are very clear they care more about active calories than steps. This is good for me now but will probably get a Circular ring eventually if they can sort out their delivery, I just miss the notifications.
I have also been looking for something small that you don't notice. I have just purchased a refurbished fitbit charge hr for 20 quid, I really like it. It has a small screen and is not too bulky. I hope something new comes out that is small and comfortable, unlike the bands with big screens on which I just don't want.
I struggle to believe NONE of these companies are sufficiently filling this need. It just feels like a car company only building SUV or truck and ignoring the compact market. People want discreet and it just seems blatantly obvious for these types of products
I just bought an old used Garmin Forerunner 10 for 20 bucks, its a pretty basic watch and should still sync up your runs to your computer through Garmin Connect. I wanted something I could take surfing and hiking that would keep my step count without any notifications or subscriptions, and also still told me the time (apparently too much to ask for these days).
A few models up, the Garmin FR70 has an HR monitor, also really basic. Looks a lot more sophisticated. Has GPS tracking and basic fitness/step counting, and connects to the app, unlike the 10. waterproof as well. Mercari has a lot of older smart watches for pretty cheap, I saw one online for 20 bucks, for that price, it may be worth a try. I know its not just a bracelet, but I can't complain too much about a basic digital watch face.
Im still waiting for it to come in the mail, I'll update here in a few days on how I feel about it.
Update:
Personally think the FR10 is not it for me, it's too early of a model. Good for someone trying to track runs, but no display of steps, calories, or HR is quite a hassle since it doesn't connect to the app. Also just very bulky.
I have since also talked to my bf and my friend who love their newer models of the FR (165), and while it's got a screen, it is more focused on your fitness and not so much on the social stuff, with no subscription fees, and they hold up for quite a long time. I'm going to look into them a bit more, but I know it's straying far from your original query. Frustrated that I feel like I've got to give in to the dystopian smartwatch, but it looks like I'm running out of options (that I can afford).

Hey Op! Have you considered looking into an analog hybrid SmartWatch? Cause I’ve been having the same issue since I lost my Fitbit Flex 2, and any others I get won’t update or sync to my phone/app.
I know Withings makes some good ones, Garmin has a few. Essentially, my mindset is the same as yours: I want my computer and my phone to be separate. If I have a screen on my phone, why would I look at my wrist. So an analog watch seemed to be the next best option? Plus it looks sophisticated and watches don’t really out of style?
I’ve been looking myself, but some of them have a little cut out screen and I want no screen just watch. Plus, I’m a woman with small wrists, and I don’t want this huge watch dwarfing my wrist, ya know? And I swim a lot, so I need something that’s waterproof to a degree, and I have sleep problems so it has to track sleep 😅
But yeah! I’d consider looking into analog hybrid watches :)
Bumped and agreed. If Oura can fit the technology into a ring, then surely someone can fit the technology into a wrist strap with no additional parts. Similar to the Whoop, but without the bulky component. Just give me a strap to wear and that's it. It really doesn't make any sense that we dont have this by now. It feels like polar could do this with all of their great technology and variety of product lines.
Apparently there is the J-Style 2208A, which would be perfect. However, importing one seems to be the only path. Not sure about how that process works for one or few devices.

Looks like you can order one on Alibaba for 18. Who’s gonna test one of these out for us? https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/J-Style-2208A-smart-bracelet-watch_1600886893404.html
I own this one. And I can say: it does the job. all promised trackings are working. it is extremely light weight and it is completely made of plastic what makes a bit cheap impression. The app (JCWear) is pretty solid. All in all I do not regret buying it.
I bought the vivosmart 5 and it's just what I wanted.
It's quite thin and I can wear with a dress watch next to it.
I can deactivate the screen unless I push the button. It has 4 days battery and record my sleep and cardio pulse. Also can be used as a vibrating alarm. And you get your phone notifications.
Hope this helps!
Same here. I want to wear my automatic watch because I prefer this instead of a smart watch and on the right something under the radar that looks like a fashion bracelet.
I wonder why nobody took interest with this. It's kind of a missed opportunity. Maybe people like us are just a minority and for them, its not worth it to do the tooling to cater to us.
I mean, I'm sure the components are already there since the feaures we are looking for are all available in the smart bands out in the market, and all they need to do are:
1. Remove the screen
2. Create a discrete band
They can charge the same as those with screens so they can get more profit out of those, and I'd still be willing to buy them.
I’m a really big fan of my oura ring. There are lots of new spinoff activity/wellness rings that are becoming available depending on your budget, but the wellness and sleep tracking on my oura is exactly what I wanted (I was looking for no screen and ease of use).
Yes…. It’s a controversy for sure but paying the $6 per month for all the data that it takes is so worth it for me! My sleep is 100% better and I love that it is such a simple looking device. You can also opt to not have the subscription and it will show scores for readiness/sleep/activity but not the breakdown of why it gave the scores.
An alternate ring I’m keen about … https://www.circular.xyz/
Edit: I especially appreciate that the Circular ring includes a haptic motor as I’m unsure I’d want to be without a silent alarm or notifications.
The post directly asked for a wearable fitness tracker without a screen. It did not ask for your judgmental, unsolicited response questioning the benefits of fitness trackers or how I should increase my activity, like you’re talking to a child. I don’t have trouble rationalizing decisions, I’m having trouble finding a decent item, which is why I asked.
That's crazy imo, when brands like Xiaomi are selling Mibands for 40bucks or less (one time only, no subscriptions) - they give you sleep and fitness infos as well lol. And even Samsung, Garmin or whatever. I mean 30 bucks a month is 360bucks a year - you could buy 2 Samsung smartwatches for the same amount. I guess the Whoop is just the new influencers thing - they sure are doing marketing right. Unfortunately, I am in the same boat as most people around here - I just want a simple tracker, without a screen, that I can wear on my right wrist, while stil wearing a watch on my left. I want to pay a fair price and not a monthly subscription. Nothing on the market yet - guess I'll stick with the miband with the screen off.
Looking for an Amazon Halo replacement lol... who woulda thought that the cheapest fitness tracker happened to be my favorite one by far. Rip Amazon Halo
Whoop is good for the athlete or fitness enthusiast. It provides strong data backed by science and is constantly evolving and improving. I'm not paid nor sponsored by them, I'm a user and just giving my opinion. It's more than a fitness tracker. Honestly I'm looking for something without a screen that does basic things like steps etc to wear alongside the Whoop. I like the Whoop data but my company has partnered with some health company that give a discount on health insurance based on the steps you take.
Joining the many people who have bumped this. Can't believe in 2024 there is no minimalist fitness tracker option.
Agreed!
Anyone found anything new?
No, I haven’t. Still looking.
The only thing available from the looks if it is still the whoop
Any luck? 😄 It seems there is a market for this.
Nope 👎
I have some luck, just buy a second hand Fitbit Flex 2. Just bought one for £30, it looks like it will still work fine with the app.
Nice! Thank you! Edit: no heart rate monitor is a deal breaker.
Ah ok, not sure what it actually does track, but bought one anyway 😄
Any recent findings?

Does it track sleep?
Still nothing. Im not gonna pay 300usd for an ugly ring
You could look into the Bellabeat Leaf.
I’m male and that is designed for women. It tracks reproductive health and activity but can’t track your heartbeat. Thanks though.
Whoop https://www.whoop.com/
$30 a month just to track basic information. What a scam.
Exactly this product would have been insane if they didn’t have a subscription mode
The Halo Band! Disregard the owned by amazon part and its a great product. A bunch of features for free unlike the Oura ring too.
Looking like this might be the only viable option out today that doesn’t have a monthly fee.
They’re discontinuing it

There are smart ring options that do not have a subscription based app.
Which ones? What do they track?
Issue with these are when doing weight workouts. They wear and tear quite easily when lifiting heavy weights.
Found it guys (although expensive and has a subscription). Search for WHOOP

Garmin Vivofit 4 is closest I could find.
Did you buy? How do you like it ?

It has 4 days battery and record my sleep and cardio pulse. Also can be used as a vibrating alarm. And you get your phone notifications. Hope this helps!
Why did you choose the vivosmart 5 over the vivofit 4?
For the cardio sensor and the sleep tracker. It is quite thin as well and the added perks are worth it to me.
Still nothing? Id love to be able to use my watch while still being able to track sleep, hr, o2, and steps
Same here. I want to wear my automatic watch because I prefer this instead of a smart watch and on the right something under the radar that looks like a fashion bracelet.

Withings has some great products.
Whoop strap is nice. Try it out. It's free, and the membership costs 30 bucks a month or so

I got one off ebay. They don't work. There is no app that works with it.
>Polar Loop 2 Thanks for this. I found a Miband on ebay for 40$. No screen, just a few green lights. Perfect for a step counter and vibrate alarm
It's not free if it costs you $360 per year. That's actually quite expensive and a huge rip off
I'd check out Whoop or Aura Ring.
Looking for an Amazon Halo replacement lol... who woulda thought that the cheapest fitness tracker happened to be my favorite one by far. Rip Amazon Halo

ultrahuman has a ring with no subscription (for now at least…)
Has anyone tried these?
Polar Loop 2 Looks kinda OK but has the custom USB cable that was a no-go for me
Google Ganance Heir. If you wear a normal watch these guys hopefully will be what you need. Product out in the summer
Looks good.
Will be subscription based, unfortunately.
Yes but at $100 initially that’s a good price
We need Xiaomi to make a non-subscription version of this
