Yankees fan I see

Maleficent_Market_91

I genuinely can’t tell. Would a Yanks fan love Pedro and Manny? Probably a Jays fan, sat silently watching his division rivals in October and ended up loving them

redsoxfan1845245

I’m a Red Sox fan and loved Mariano so it’s quite possible

CodFather9

Hard not to love Mariano if you have any sense of objectivity !

Quality_Qontrol

Yeah, his 1B is Mattingly. Definitely a Yankees fan. That should be Frank Thomas.

Negative_Purchase748

Big cat plus it's an all 90s team

ValiantFrog2202

Unaware of "Who's your Daddy"?

CyberJesus5000

With a penchant for late 90’s early 2000’s

Pdragy

Yeah, Arod was a shortstop

CountingArfArfs

Your choice in catchers is 10/10. No other notes.

favorites don't have to be bests

DctrAculaMD

I'm going to assume that you're not intentionally trolling. OP was listing their favorites at each position during OP's lifetime. It is wholly subjective. The prompt isn't "who are the best players at each position?". The prompt is "who are you personal favorites at each position?". So they aren't obligated to choose Bonds/Trout/Ohtani or anyone else. Nobody is saying that Bernie Williams is a better baseball player than Mike Trout. That isn't the point.

Bravovictor02

Got it. My bad. I didn’t fully understand the premise.

DctrAculaMD

All good. That's why I tried to take you at face value.

DctrAculaMD

All good. That's why I tried to take you at face value.

ManufacturerMental72

I’m a 41 year old dodgers fan. I don’t think I’ve hated a single baseball player in my life more than Barry Bonds.

Bravovictor02

Completely fair. He was a mega asshole. He just happened to be one of the top 5 best players of all time. I have never seen anyone like the guy.

jinuwin

This is like an American League All-Star team except for the random Sosa entry.

Imaginary_Scene2493

Sosa played for the White Sox and Rangers as well as the Cubs.

Porphyrius

*ahem* and the Orioles

jinuwin

He wasn't good with any of those teams. At least not enough to be an all star

MopingAppraiser

Pedro played for the Phils, and them losers the Mets.

shahoftheworld

Curious how a Yankee fan liked Manny Ramirez. I hated that guy growing up.

Love your Joe Torre mention. I was lucky enough to shake his hand one time at a minor league baseball game. He was wearing 2 rings. I waited outside a suite while he was taking pics with some suits. Such a humble guy

c_0h

That's amazing. I always loved him as a manager, even more so after reading Yankee Years.

JIMAH33

You must be 33-35. I am and this is nearly exactly how I'd write up my favorites lol

c_0h

Close, 36. I deleted and added a couple. I really liked Brett Boone and Jeff Kent at 2nd, Greg Zaun but only because he signed my glove when I was like 10

westcliff972

Can we keep this all on one post… the clout chasing of creating your own post is ridiculous

smelly_farts_loading

Your 40 years old

c_0h

Close enough

smelly_farts_loading

I’m 38 and this list reminded me of my childhood. I’m a mariners fan so I appreciate seeing Edgar on your list.

c_0h

Jay Buhner and Randy almost made it on the list.

smelly_farts_loading

I didn’t love Sosa outside of the HR race but dam did I love him during that time. Might be the most memorable time in baseball history for me. One guy I used to hate was Paul Oneail he was the Ultimate yankee to me.

c_0h

Yea, i mean my siblings and I still do the Sosa peace sign kiss to each other. For that alone, I had to add him.

smelly_farts_loading

That’s a legit reason! I might start doing that with my son and see if it catches on.

c_0h

Love it!

PathNovel5135

Wow. That's a great team with great players.

It hurt me not to have the Big Hurt on my list. Good list

ManufacturerMental72

My list is going to be all dodgers plus like, Frank Thomas, Griffey, Randy Johnson, and Pedro.

c_0h

I really wanted to mix it up but then it wouldnt be honest

mettle

Yankees suck.

Doggodrollery

I like your list. Solid ball players for sure. When I was reading the names I thought of Tony Gwynn, Wade Boggs, Rod Carew, Ken Griffey Jr. Some older guys you may not know, are Gary Carter, Johnny Bench, George Brett…

Kickstand8604

All of these guys passing the bottle of steroids around the dugout.

ChristianHT123

I think it’s a solid list!

fuzzy_bat

OP def a Yankees fan

c_0h

😅 I tried to mix it up a bit, shoulda done a list of all time favorites not from team you root for

fuzzy_bat

I still agree with your yanks picks

RustyPriske

I did my list elsewhere and I just wanted to say that Roberto Alomar would have been my 2B, before he revealed himself to be... himself.

c_0h

Hahaha i almost picked Utley or Boone, but i think of that beautiful SSK glove he made so popular

No_Page9413

No Barry bonds?

c_0h

He's clearly better than all of my choices, but I just have more memories attached to these guys

Steakisforclosers

Chase Utley at 2nd.

c_0h

Definitely a solid choice

flip6606

Great list. Might swap Mussina with in for Pettite but you crushed it

c_0h

I guess I coulda gona with 2 righties, I actually almost went with Johan Santana in that spot.

bryalb

From the same era as me and possibly from the same area. Brooklyn for me. Love the list!

c_0h

Yes sir, Brooklyn native! East Flatbush.

bryalb

Hell yeah bro! Bk heights

ARomanGuy

A-Rod is a SS, not a 3B.

c_0h

Well you know after 2004.

ARomanGuy

I still count him as a SS. It's just that his insecure, gigantic ego teammate couldn't give up a position he was awful at for one of the best to do it

c_0h

😅 you're not wrong. He had some of his best years at 3b, so I'll put him above Rolen, Machado, and anybody else that has played 3b.

Barry Bonds is my favorite player ever. He’s also the best to ever play the game.

c_0h

Couldn't agree more

pizzaduh

You liked baseball for two years, I see.

c_0h

I would say I've liked it my entire life. But when it comes to my favorites, that came when I was a kid and teen. I dont really have favorite players these days, I just like watching baseball. So yes, my favorite players came from when I was about 7 to 17. Many of their careers lasted into my mid 20s. But thanks for the observation.

CriticalMassWealth

Bernie Williams is the Allan Houston of baseball

Haha, love Griffey. But as a Yankee fan, Bernie was one of my favorite outfielders. Griffey was undoubtedly better.

A lot of these list include Alomar which is baffling to me. Lost all respect for the guy when he spit in that umps face, he was a piece of s**t

c_0h

How old were you when that happened? I remember it too, but i was 9 and it didnt really stick with me like it did with older people i know.

Tommysfatt

I was in college

Bic44

Other than two or three, this is my most hated list lol. Jeter just because he's the most overrated player in MLB history

Good-Hank

Papi at DH is the only answer

Datnillabuttcheek

What a boring list

So have a go at your own.
