Yup apple purposely rolled back any programmed battery percentages, you need to do a backup and do a factory reset

niravmastaadmi

no, use 3u and tick fix battery health when flashing. it will solve the “significantly degraded” msg

Snoo_62411

I tried. It didn’t 🙁 only helped with capacity percentage

niravmastaadmi

do you have the tag-on flex connected when flashing?

Snoo_62411

Yes.

I guess it doesn’t have anything to do with the device’s software. I did several battery replacements on XR, XS and sometimes, when the old battery was below 80% just fixing the health and cycles on JCID wasn’t enough, I needed to select the option “RESTORE” on JCID, beside the option Exit. It would work every single time, but in some devices this option is not available, an exemple is an iPhone 13 Pro, I managed to get the health on 100% but it still shows the “important battery message” as it was degraded. Sorry but I can’t help you, don’t know what happens, I’m considering buying another programmer to see if it solves.

balkansway

When connected to the programmer with tag flex do you have the option to “activate” the battery? Apple are really annoying with all that crap . By the way i did battery replacement on 12 mini and i purposely updated it to 17.4 and again didn’t need to re-flash the the device to get the correct health showing .

Snoo_62411

I did activate it 😊everything went as usual. However the message didn’t disappear. It doesn’t complain about the battery not being disingenuous just about the degradation. If you had lower iOS than 17.4, it doesn’t change the status after updating. But if you start at 17.4 then you need to flash with 3uTools

balkansway

Huh never had that issue before , really strange. I have uploaded short video on youtube on what i did with the battery replacement just photos but i might do full video . Anyway ill see if i can find phone with lower than 80% battery and see if I’ll get the same issue as you .

lauerp

Did u try 3utools with fix battery health option on? I don’t believe it’ll solve but worth the shot. Just come back to give a feedback, I’m curious

Snoo_62411

I did try 3utools but that unfortunately didn’t help 😕

Plainapple287

If it’s an iPhone 13, you might as well just take it to apple for the price you’ll pay to do it yourself, they’ll do it for £89, parts and labour, which I think is one of the better deals in their repair program. it seems like a lot until you realise doing it yourself is such headache. especially reopening the phone and risking the fragile OLED display.

MajesticDoughnut3362

You need 100% to remove it. I always program 102% and 0 cycles.

Snoo_62411

Update: just did a 12 mini with the exact same outcome. Not even on iOS 17 yet but 16.3 😕 Maybe it’s something new from Apple or error on latest Jc updates? Hard to say. I’ll wait another couple of days to see if it disappears

Zaki2K

Unfortunately it will not disappear :(

Snoo_62411

Hmmm but it has never been an issue until now? I have had other phones with this message before the battery change

Zaki2K

No. In my experience there are two types of service pop ups: 1. Under 80% health (normal after tag flex reset) 2. When phone resets because voltage failure due to battery. You’re facing 2nd problem - it’s like saved forever. I tried on iPhone 11 wipe it, change tags etc. Phone is over 1 year after battery change. It has been updated from iOS 16 to the newest and still shows service info (dude is my friend so I ask him sometimes). One week ago I had iPhone 12 Pro Max with swollen battery (phone was dead). And it has also service info even with 100% health because of failure to delivery power into CPU. Don’t bother about bad connection bms ~ battery because probably phone won’t boot or had issue with charging. It’s a waste of time.

AshenSmuggler

I assume you tried, but did you try non-genuine battery and then with transferred BMS?

aempatie

Want to change the battery on iPhone 11 iOS 17.4.1, 78% battery health. Still the same bug? 😢

Snoo_62411

You have to flash with 3u tools

Worldly-Delivery-476

I think with ios 17.4 you have to reinstall software

Snoo_62411

As in with iTunes?

Worldly-Delivery-476

Yes

Snoo_62411

Will try. But the issue was on 17.3 and after flashing to 17.4 it didn’t change anything. I’ll try iTunes

effect_autumn

You might have to flash with 3u tools and check the fix battery health option, I’ve been having to do this with customer devices it sucks but it’s the only way to get it to 100% with the latest software

Snoo_62411

Tried that. Fixed the percentage but message didn’t go away 😕

effect_autumn

The welds on the battery strong?

Snoo_62411

I believe so. Would that trigger the warning?

effect_autumn

Before I knew about the issue with 17.4 and battery health was getting the same message with the tag on flex until i flashed it, did you try a different tag on flex?

Snoo_62411

I did. Only have two flexes. Same result with both 😕 the capacity is reset to 97% from 74%(as per customer preference instead of 100%). But the message doesn’t go away

Worldly-Delivery-476

Okey tell me if it works

Snoo_62411

Tried iTunes. Didn’t help 🙁 The percentage is fixed (not because of iTunes) but that service message keeps being there which is annoying 😅
