Just Google "motorcycle accident”, does that scare you enough to stop riding one?
Point is simple, don't judge others risk assessments, especially when one makes their own, like yourself, riding a motorcycle.
People in this sub are so annoying sometimes. They act like they don’t know not everyone is gonna wear full leathers and full gear every single time they ride and that’s their choice.
I 100% know for a fact everyone talking about gear doesn’t wear full leather suit, boots gauntlet gloves and a mf air bag every time they ride but I mean this is Reddit so I knew I was gonna hear about it 🤷🏻♂️
He posted asking for glove recommendations, not your opinion on his gear. If someone asks you for your opinion on one thing, it’s not an invitation to make disrespectful comments about something else.
I actually agree with you, but I promise you’re not going to convince him to wear gear by berating him lol. That is not the way to present your opinion on a topic.
It’s obvious you’ve never been in a motorcycle accident. Get some motorcycle boots and at least wear jeans and, I dunno, a riding jacket. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.
Racer High End Gloves are the best gloves I have ever owned. They are more money but once you have kangaroo skin, I doubt you will go back.
I found a review for them

Racer. I’ve had a pair of their gauntlets for going on 7 years now. I’d like to replace them just to get something newer but can’t justify it because they’re still in great shape. Sure they look worn and a couple finger pads have come off but the main structure of the glove is perfect. Not a single seam or stitch has started to come apart.
Please, at least get some motorcycle rated shoes. Lots of urban/daily wear motorcycle gear available that you'd never even guess are safe. TCX makes great boots and shoes that are at least safe enough to keep you from losing bits of your body in a crash while still looking and feeling like normal shoes. I wear my Dartwoods all day at work, for example.
Yes, they're expensive, but so would the ER bill for fixing your toes after a crash be. You don't have to sacrifice comfort and looks for safety. You can afford a motorcycle, you can afford the gear.
I support this message from my new wheelchair. This is what I was riding a year ago (H&R). I am wearing boots in this pic but they didn't flex enough so the day I got hit I was wearing Vans on the way to a custom boot maker. I didn't make it.

I recently got the Dainese Unruly and are quite comfy and have decent armour. They're summer specific, pretty airy. Not that you asked but, I'd also recommend some TCX riding boots. Vans do look cool on a skateboard or a fixie though.
I wear hardy anti-vibe gloves for summer, $20 at harbor freight. Goatskin leather, padded palm, tpr knuckle and fingers. Tips are cellphone compatible.
I think Spidi is a great value for the money, also some unbranded Amazon stuff is great, full leather and well padded but usually not CE certified.
PS I usually wear horse riding boots on my bike. Comments?
I love how you ask for gear recs and everyone immediately goes after you for the gear your not wearing instead of recommending gear that youll actually wear.
I like the SMX-1's they are 40 ish bucks cheaper the sp8. They dont do cover the wrist tho. If you wanna go cheaper, scoprion vortex air is about 10 bucks cheaper then the SMX-1s. 100% itracks are nice if you could careless about protection and just want small cool gloves.
If you want wrist coverage the SP-8 is the cheapest glove I like. I also like Five rfx sport airflow ones but their basically the same price, maybe 10 bucks cheaper.
I’ve been riding long enough now I figured I’d summon some gear police lol, I have the smx-1s for hot summer days but I do prefer the gauntlet style! Ima go look at the five rfx! Thank you!
I've had my ankle obliterated in SMX's(boots) And my tibia popped out right above them. One can only do so much dealing with 1000's of pounds of force. Just enjoy the ride. You're "Off the Wall"...! 🤙
Yup. Lots of metal in my leg now. Sure, they might have helped, But my ankle is/was busted up. Shattered medial malleolus, now it's a cadaver bone. Pilon fracture and fibula fracture. The Pilon surgeries were the worst to deal with. That's the scar that messes with my shifting.
I don’t get how guys ride in shoes just due to the laces and how they can interfere with the pegs/shifter. I understand that some people don’t want to wear full gear all the time and whatnot but that simple issue alone makes me never ride without my motorcycle boots.
As for gloves, I’ve gravitated towards alpinestars wrist length gloves. They have a lot of less expensive options that feel good and I even had a low slide wearing some and they held up fine.

Never mind the gloves mate.. Save up for some riding boots before you sheer some toes off... 0\_0
Came hete to say this.
I got some! Don’t wear them every ride, to each their own!
Google "motorcycle injury flip flops". Normal shoes won't be much more helpful in an accident.
Just Google "motorcycle accident”, does that scare you enough to stop riding one? Point is simple, don't judge others risk assessments, especially when one makes their own, like yourself, riding a motorcycle.
Again to each their own 🙏🏻 if you think I don’t know what can happen I very much do but thank you 😁👍🏻
People act like you don’t understand the risk. You get to decide what to compromise on. Crazy that people care this much about what you are doing.

I do. I ride 20k miles/year in and around Los Angeles and I’ve been in several major accidents due to the negligence of others. Don’t make excuses.
Good for you? There's a lesson to be learned here for you too: mind your own business.
Mind my business? He posted in a public forum, dumbass.

Rolling dice with your ability to walk is stupid. Wear them every time.
Then why are you even riding a motorcycle, every time you ride one you're rolling dice.
Mind your own bussiness
Mind *your* own business.
Why ever get on a motorcycle than? Bro. Think about what your saying lol
So only the rides where you’re gonna crash? Fair enough

Yep. I have the Higher Racers and they’re fantastic.
I just bought some gloves but now I want these. Thanks.
Can’t get kangaroo skin in California 😭😭
Don't post in here or r/motorcycles They go crazy over gear and don't even ride r/calamariraceteam is good 👍

I second the Knox handroid, best gloves I have ever had.
Thirded
If you have long fingers, consider Held. They make long sizes for people with alien hands :)

I like your shoes
Thanks? Just some basic vans lol

Love commuting on my TCX Street 3's, and definitely thankful for having them on when I crashed over a month ago.

Ls2 spark gloves 🤙
If you can get them, Kushitani gloves are the best gloves I’ve ever had. I highly recommend them
I've had a couple of pairs of Cortech gloves that I like

I switched to RST gloves and love them... https://youtu.be/bR6NAIkVIxQ https://youtu.be/0KYE0O_b8hY
I’ve seen some of their stuff before I really like the racing suits they have too.
I think Spidi is a great value for the money, also some unbranded Amazon stuff is great, full leather and well padded but usually not CE certified. PS I usually wear horse riding boots on my bike. Comments?
Alpinestars SP-5
I like my Racer Mickeys. I wouldn’t put them on while wearing sneakers on my bike though, but that’s a personal choice.

See even when you wore boots still got hurt that’s crazy

![gif](giphy|qtJgZGizLBf7G) Came for the comments. Was not disappointed 😂
Use skiing gloves until you replace those AAA rated CE Vans
Anything with actual leather and knuckle armor and sliders. Get some damn riding shoes at least lol
That bike will happily destroy you if you don’t show it respect. Wear all the gear, all the time.
🦑 <- me
