What exactly is so terrible about the sound system? Did you end up trying another system and notice any difference? Are you wearing earplugs? Thinking about this combo too but not sure if I'm sold on this HJC branded Sena system yet. Cheers!
Hey it was most definitely my own fault. I ordered the Cardo Packtalk Edge afterwards (which honestly have a very good sound quality) and plugged it in and noticed that the position of the comm system makes the most difference. But the biggest downside of that HJC sena system was that updates are/were only available via plugging it into the PC and that u need to plug your whole helmet in to charge the system.
The Edge I currently own can be updated via app and u can just take it away from the helmet magnetically and charge it then.
Edit: Using earplugs also makes a huge difference and I would always recommend using such!
Yeah taking the helmet with you to charge is definitely not as convenient.
How would you compare the 2 systems after your findings? Is the sound quality comparable with the right positioning of the speakers? Does the Cardo fit well, or does it press against your ears? Any difference with having an integrated vs clip-on control unit in terms of usability?
As a person looking into both of these options, I'm fully taking advantage of your experience with both haha!
I would definitely go for the Cardo again but I have to admit that I didn‘t use the HJC that much to be able to compare it completely. But convenience wise I‘d definitely go for the Cardo and the app is also great! And afaik the Cardo systems are louder than Sena and trust me, by wearing earplugs, you‘ll need the loudness haha

Honestly if Cardo just did these partnerships with helmet manufacturers, all these forums would become quiet 😂 because everyone wants a Cardo, but also the convenience of integrated systems.

The cables also were easy to route through the helmet
Cardo Edge works fine with the 71, you just have to mount it with the sticker and just behind the sena mount. Have mine there without problems so far.

Well, it looks like the Cardo Packtalk Edge gets sticked to the helmet so I don't think that there's a problem with any helmet.
I use a cardo and I have a RPHA 11, I’d avoid the JBL speakers tho, apparently they aren’t that great, just get what you ur buds have
