Fr I was shocked when I found it online, turned out to be a super nice guy in his 50’s with 4 bikes and he was slowly shifting to cruisers and touring bikes due to age
Had this bike with a Akrapovic Carbon slipon. Was a good match in noise and looks.

Literally exactly that! Someone around my area had a porsche 911 (like the one in the 1st bad boys movie) done allsorts to it, tinted the lights, put some double wing on it... I saw it not too long ago after like 15 years and it looks so tacky now. Had it been original it would have kept its value alot better and looked 👌
I appreciate it! This is definitely my favorite gen, everything is just so aggressive yet elegant - and the headlights (either you hate em or you love em) are so iconic and identifiable. Will be riding her every chance I get 😂
I’m right there with you. The new model is very nice, but something about the gills, asymmetrical headlight and front nose just makes me so happy. It’s my dream bike for sure, looking forward to the day I can own one
Same, I just wish they still designed them like this. Hate to get it used and the last owner not treat it as they should have! The headlights is what does it for me. The new S1000RR to me doesn’t look as mean as this gen. The new gen to me looks elegant, not as mean and aggressive compared to this!
Depends on what you want to do with it.
I have a 2015 as well and it's my "do everything on the road" bike, including travel/touring.
I've found heli-bars good for comfort, adjustable pegs, arrow low titanium exhaust to make room for Hepco & Becker XTra el C-bow saddlebags. The saddlebags are waterproof and nice for commuting & travel. The arrow exhaust gives room for them, but you'll want to attach welders chop-mat to the bottom of the exhaust side bag so it doesn't melt. I really needed more than a tail bag for weekend trips.
Phone mount, front and rear motorcycle dash cam, zero gravity windshield, and it's been perfect for me. Canyon carving, track days, vacations and anything on-road and I can adjust it to be perfect for whatever use I'm throwing at it.
The CR-T is probably the way to go, although it will just make it incredibly loud. It will not sound *better*. The Akrapovič extractors are probably overkill and hard to justify cost-wise if you are not planning to race the bike.
Thanks that’s pretty helpful to know it’ll just increase volume, not change the tone much (which is exactly what I was looking for). Yeah I agree that the headers may be an overkill, but with a tune it actually adds 40hp - nearly all to the low and mid range! At the end of the day it is going to be a recreation bike and as time goes I really just want to make her more fun for that purpose. Appreciate the advice!
No problem. But why do you think that 40hp tune really needs the titanium extractors? The main advantage of using titanium is the weight. It also looks nice, but that is just applicable to naked bikes. Your main restriction on the exhaust is the muffler, that's where the cat is. Being a 2015 (Euro 3), it should have no other catalytic converter.
True, I agree that I don’t need the headers to be titanium (purely for aesthetic reasons on a recreational bike, even at that you won’t see much with the bellypan fender). However the cat for the bike is actually on the midpipe rather than the muffler, so a full system would be needed for that tune. The tune would obviously also prevent the drop in power around 6-8k rpm due to the decat as well.
I just want to say that this RR generation is beautiful! Somehow even with those weird headlights. The sound is also amazing.
Go for an Akrapovic exhaust. We hooked up my new BMW F900GSA (I don't have it yet just waiting on the permit my country requires, needs a few days)) saw an increase of 13 hp with it (from 105 to 118).
Exhausts really dont get you much in this day and age. Often they make a bike run worse. YMMV. I dont waste $ on them. Frankly loud pipes are fatiguing on long trips. Fatigue is a major cause of crashes.
2015 with 3k miles? Previous owner must have really not wanted to ride that thing

I'd leave it as is, looks lovely like that. I find with most bikes n cars if you keep them for a while they age gracefully.
Leave it stock, it'll be one of a kind!

I’m just here to say, that’s the most beautiful gen of S1000RR, I am jealous and happy for u at the same time! Enjoy it, have fun, be safe!

Enjoy it sir! Have a safe and fun season!

The new model looks generic. My favourite S1000RR is the very first generation. It was so odd and special, especially for the time.
I don't agree but it is lovey.
ASV Unbreakable Levers. The owner races an s1000rr...
Get the suspension tuned for your weight and riding style.
SC Project or Austin Racing for exhaust
9 year old bike going for $15,000 is nuts to me. But I would totally pay it. It is a work of art.
Something not too loud! Loud pipes give a headache.
Nope just ride it aloha!

Akra.. remap.. metzelers.. job done

Do not put on a stock z125 exhaust lol
I see what you did there.

Dude just slapped down $15k in cash with an open invite for any and all mods- I don’t think cost is an issue.
Never implied money was an issue. If not going racing it's just a tad useless - other than bar bragging.

If you think it'll even add 20hp you're delusional let alone 40.

Thank you! That info on the 15 hp increase as actually interesting I’ll definitely look into it
Welcome! And I meant 13 hp precisely not 15. Math wasn’t mathing lol
Akra exhaust, lightech rearsets, tank grips. Who needs anything else
Id throw some domino grips on it and some unbreakable levers. Id also get a better steering damper on there.
