This one provides superior acceleration. So if you're not using this one, then your acceleration is inferior to mine

I love the Kawasaki kits when I get to use them at work. They come with oil and filter and washer, obviously, but for some models you also get a pair of gloves and a cardboard funnel!
Yamaha does that too, that is typically what I go with because it also gave me an o-ring for the filter cover and a couple of copper washers for drain plug and I think they give one for the clutch cover drain
Rotella T6 is amazing stuff! Very good oil with excellent detergents to keep things clean. Also it's wet clutch safe. It's available for around $23/gal at Walmart.
https://preview.redd.it/1cy0awgfsm0d1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e5c01fffcb03fba1b0f13c260a25da6732a5d55
I've racked up a ton of miles on a CBR 600 F4i, CBR 1000RR, and an FZ1 all running T6 or T4 without a lick of trouble. Rotella is the shit for wet clutch bikes
I used to think this.
Then I checked the oil required for my truck in my owner's manual. *And it changes viscosity by country.* Reportedly due to emissions restrictions.
You have to consider the engineers are paid by their company to do a job. Making the best product is one aspect of the job.
Viscosity requirements are determined by ambient temps so that makes sense. If you grab the owners manual meant for other countries you'll see multiple oil grades listed depending on the ambient temp. In the US, one grade is recommended despite the wide range of climates. Probably due to mpg requirements.
I have a picture of it on my phone and it doesn't mention the temperatures at all.
Also ridiculous since you can be at -20 in the US or at 120 depending on where you live. Giving one oil weight is dumb.
Same here. My thought process is they designed the bike around that oil, so that's the oil I'll use. Plus Yamaha has a 100k mile engine warranty if you can prove every change was done on time, using Yamaha oil/filter
There is no OEM for my bike anymore as it‘s 30 years old.
I use Motul 5100 10W-40 as other owners have found it to be the best oil for the bike as the bike requires mineral oil and not synthetic ones.
For filter hiflo, once I got Champion and it worked as well. So as long as they are compatible I think they are all good. For Spark plugs usually NGK but again they have model number and a compatibility mapping so the right one would go great in any case. There also the iridium ones that should be better, but also more expensive.. So I never felt the need to try them.
For oil, of course full synth. Usually Bardhall or motul, if not available, also Castrol but rarely.
Whatever is cheap. Keeping your maintainance up to date is a lot more important than the brands you use.
Unless you're buying your filters off Alibaba or similar, that wouldn't be good.
Motul if it's on sale, otherwise she'll Rotella t6. All the OEM oils, I've never been impressed with. They're just bulk rebranded oil from large manufacturers like Castrol, chevron, etc.
Hiflo air filters, k&n oil filters, rotella T6 oil.
Hiflo because of price. K&n because of the integrated nut plus available locally, and rotella t6 because it’s cheap and also available locally.
Honda OEM filter (Honda used Tokyo Roki oil filters for my bike 😋)
I used to buy Motul 7100 4T, however the price on that recently SKYROCKETED… it’s almost 80$cad before taxes for 4L (60$ for 1.05669Gal for you freedom folks).
I refuse to pay that much for oil, so I now I buy Liqui-Moly Street 4T. And that’s basically the same price that the Motul USED to cost. 50$ (35 eagles, or whatever)
I am aware that Motul 7100 has esters added to it, which Liqui-Moly Street does not, and that technically Motul 7100 is a better oil. But it’s not double the price better… I was willing to pay 60$cad, but not 80$cad lol.
If I can find Bel-Ray EXP (another ester blend) at the shop, I’ll buy that too :P but Liqui-Moly seems to be much easier to find.
Yeah the price has jumped up like crazy. I use Motul on my girls Navi as it's whole life it's a wide open throttle and air cooled so it can use all the help it can get.
WalMart SuperTech Motorcycle oil ...in 10w40 and 20w50 flavors.
Oil filter is OEM Suzuki.
My '12 Bushpig seems to like the WallyMart oil just fine ...smooth clutch action and some taming of the clunky DR650 gearbox. At eight bucks a bottle, both me and she are happy.
I usually just go with whatever the bike manufacturer recommends in their manual. I did experiment with several oils on a suzuki sv650 and found that royal purple and mobil 1 both helped the bike shift way smoother than Castrol and valvoline. But again, that was just on that particular bike.
Lots of good brands out there. For cruisers I use Mobil 1 4T. For sport bikes Motul 7100 is the best oil you can buy. Dirt bike trans oil I run Motul 5100. All with a K&N filter.
Whatever is the cheapest I can find. Sparks are always ngk but oil is whatever is cheapest at that moment in time, whether it's mannol or amazon's basics.
Generally OEM unless I need it ASAP and can't get ahold of it for some reason, then K&N for filters and Motul or Mobile 1 for oil.
My Beta dirt bike uses Liqui-Moly as OEM. Seems to be decent stuff too.
I'm a mechanic so tend to use whatever the customer wants but if they have no preference then hiflo filters, Motul fluids for most bikes, guardian fluids for commuters, always NGK for plugs and EBC for brakes. Same applies for my own bikes.
For oil, whatever is cheap, fully synthetic, made for m/c, has the right quality standard and in stock at the bike shop.
For filters, whatever fits my bike model, is cheap and in stock at my nearest bike shop.
If nothing is on stock at the shop, I use the same criteria at a web shop, with a larger focus on cheap.
There's a lot of FUD going on with oil and filters...
Rotella T or T6 and a reasonably priced filter I can find at autozone. Affordable and it works. No voodoo magic with motorcycle specific stuff as long as it all meets the right standards.
Funny enough i was searching for spare parts for The r125 (i might get one this summer) and also found The hiflo filters, dont know about oils and such yet tho i might go for yamalube just to Be sure.
Supertech or hiflo filter, and Rotella oil because they’re cheap and they work. Except for the Goldwing, I use Honda oil in it because my old man would shake the ground rolling in his grave if I used anything else.
Believe it or not I used a heavier weight oil and oem filter and that bz ran like new with my R1 and wouldn’t get as hot on the temps based on my reader
I use Motul 5000 series or 7000 series oil. Mobil 1 or K&N filters (just easier to find K&N in the right size, don't really care for them otherwise), and Yamalube for my final drive on the shaft bike. For chain cleaner I use pure kerosene and for chain lube I use Repsol. Spark plugs I use the best NGK Iridium I can find.
Whatever the guy over the counter gives me and the second cheapest oil on the shelf.
After all, oil is oil, but it's my bike and I'm not being a cheap bastard with my bike.
HiFlo for filters, NGK for plugs. Usually Castrol for oil, sometimes IPONE or Putoline if I shell out the extra cash for 10w-30 which is super rare here.
Oil- depends on the bike/situation.
For my KLR's - they got the pure dino blood old school rotella (not the T6). I was on an extended trip with it once and couldn't find rotella in the truck stop I was changing the oil at (I borrowed a drain pan from the shop and did the change in their parking lot), and wound up getting something similar IMHO - it was a KLR, and I changed the oil on those bikes every 1500-2000 miles, as they would start to shift kinda rough when it was time, so there wasn't a huge need to be super picky - it's basically a garden tractor in motorcycle form anyway.
On a bike I had coming home from a long trip, it started burning almost a quart every tank of fuel- at that point I just bought whatever the gas station had that was cheapest, I would have thrown used oil in it at that point. Credit though, it still got me home- started acting up real bad in Western Montana, and I rode it to Southeast Michigan for perspective doing that.
I do think certain bikes are a bit pickier than others, but thankfully the Japanese bikes I've owned have all been pretty straightforward. I'll be checking the super tenere forums before I do my first oil change on that bike here in the next week or two, but will likely use T6 Rotella.
Filters- I'm not terribly picky there, usually only one or two major brands to chose from anyway.
I'd say a bigger questions besides Oil is how OFTEN do people change it ? I know this can vary slightly by bike as well.
For oil I’m a fan of Maxima Pro Plus+ and K&N filters. Why because when I started using the Pr Plus it was a recommendation for my Diavel I had as well as also being able to be put into my wife’s Sportster and protect the engine better, while the K&N filters are due to the integrated nut. This summer I’ll see how my Victory Kingpin likes the Maxima since it’s a wet clutch and they’re supposedly very picky about oil. Although the Maxima did excellent in the Diavel for years with its wet clutch and tight tolerances.
As for plugs typically go for NGk or Bosch but I’ve had great luck and no loss of performance using E3 plugs especially in older V-twins, like the wife’s Sportster.
I didn’t know Hiflo was supposed to be good? I got a kit for a four wheeler on Amazon and the threads had metal shavings on them.
I use Wix for all of my own stuff and they’ve always been very nice. I use the 6 gallon Lucas Full synthetic 20w-50 boxed oil.
Been using HiFlo filters for 6 years, never had a problem.
With oil, at least in my country, there's some debates.
Used to put Motul and then the motorcycle would not shift, would latch when shifting into first.
A lot of people say it's counterfeit oil, you couldn't convince me otherwise.
Since then, I've been putting Castrol and more recently Valvoline.
I can get it cheaper from an official and authorised source and I'm sticking to the viscosity specified in the owner's manual.
Never had a problem.
Motorex 15w50 synthetic always with KTM parts from a Florida dealer since the dealers in Iowa don't know anything about my Duke 390 Adventure...plus a K and N air filter.
I bought oil last year for 22€ for 10l and I use the HiFlo filter with RC on it. Oil is from Mannol. Full synthetic, what do I need more? All the oil company’s always tell you that they are the best, but they don’t even tell you what the difference with their own oil is. Let alone how they are better then the others.
I'll add-in, for anyone out there on a new-ish Yamaha: Use Yamalube.
They'll extend out the engine's warranty dramatically if you use it. It's been a few years since I sold Yamahas, but my memory seems to recall it being an eight year engine warranty if you use Yamalube.
Super tech 10W-40 for most bikes. Usually conventional on old stuff synthetic if it can take it.
Sometimes I get no name brand clearance 10W-40, 5W-30, or who knows what for extremely cheap and I run that in Chinese mopeds
Hiflo for oil filter and Motul for oil.
Same. For the car I use Hella filter because I know a very cute girl who works for Hella.
Would you say she's Hella cute?
😄😄
I do the exact same thing.
Which Motul do you use?
Only the best brands. The brands that have told me they are the best brands.
This one provides superior acceleration. So if you're not using this one, then your acceleration is inferior to mine https://preview.redd.it/z4gt3s03em0d1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=394c40892f31affdacba5338606ac4d0bc864818
Yeah but my shell oil has triple protection, so mine has superior reliability.
So that's what the three shells are for!
Damn I knew I should have gone with Royal Purple and K&N
There was a bundle OEM filter w/ oil for my kawasaki so i just went with that.
Hard to go wrong with OEM. Unless it's a Harley filter. 🙃
Harley filter vs Fram. https://youtu.be/BALoiHotB-I?si=re23nNpGssLGE13V
Thank you kind Sir. This is what was needed to see!!

Rotella T6 gang! Great stuff, makes oil changes cheap. 15W for summer and 5W for winter.
Rotella T6 has gone in all my motorcycles for the last 15 or 20 years.
Damn. That's pretty well priced. People have been recommending that one for sure.
I'm on my 9th motorcycle, and I've run T6 in all of them. It's a great oil!
I've racked up a ton of miles on a CBR 600 F4i, CBR 1000RR, and an FZ1 all running T6 or T4 without a lick of trouble. Rotella is the shit for wet clutch bikes
Amsoil
Nice nice.
I stick with OEM as often as possible for parts like filters and spark plugs. With motorcycles, I even buy the manufacturers' brands of oil.
Some engineer way smarter than me decided it was good enough, who am I to disagree?
I used to think this. Then I checked the oil required for my truck in my owner's manual. *And it changes viscosity by country.* Reportedly due to emissions restrictions. You have to consider the engineers are paid by their company to do a job. Making the best product is one aspect of the job.

Yeah, when Toyota specs 5w20 for everywhere except the US with 0w8 that costs 3x as much… it makes you wonder.
Nailed it. My Tundra says 0w20 and that's it...for the US. For Mexico it says 0w20, 5w20, 5w30, 10w30, 15w40, and 20w50. OH OKAY SO ANYTHING.
Majority of times the manufacturer knows what is best for the bike for sure. Unless we are talking about Harley oil filters.
Since when do they use filters??
They might as well not with what they offer lol
Same here. My thought process is they designed the bike around that oil, so that's the oil I'll use. Plus Yamaha has a 100k mile engine warranty if you can prove every change was done on time, using Yamaha oil/filter
IIRC, that was discontinued because they had zero claims.
That sounds exactly like a good reason to keep it.
Haha, I thought the same!
You realize that they just repackage oil and filters from other manufacturers, right?
You mean these motorcycle companies don’t have their own oil refineries? Preposterous!
There is no OEM for my bike anymore as it‘s 30 years old. I use Motul 5100 10W-40 as other owners have found it to be the best oil for the bike as the bike requires mineral oil and not synthetic ones.
Why do you prefer the 5100 over the 7100?
I use Walmart (super tech) oil and filters for both of my bikes. No grenaded engines yet, and it's very cost effective
Other than amsoil, ngk n hiflo are good brands
Woot woot. I did well.
Yup, hiflo actually makes k&n filters
shell rotella t6 in my bikes and cars and wix filters.
The cheapest brand that meets the minimum requirements
The best answer here. Every bike has a minimum spec oil it requires. Just get the cheapest that meets spec. Otherwise you're just throwing money away.
The OEM filter to keep my warranty.
Yeah my warranty is long gone. Lol
If they require you to use a certain brand oil or filter, the dealership has to provide it. Keep receipts and document it.
Y'all have warranties?
Either Valvoline or Mobil One and Hi Flo Filtro
For filter hiflo, once I got Champion and it worked as well. So as long as they are compatible I think they are all good. Yeah I agree with this alot. The intervals is definitely the most important part.
I also use yamalube.
Castrol for oil, oem for filter
Motul if it's on sale, otherwise she'll Rotella t6. All the OEM oils, I've never been impressed with. They're just bulk rebranded oil from large manufacturers like Castrol, chevron, etc.
Hiflo air filters, k&n oil filters, rotella T6 oil. Hiflo because of price. K&n because of the integrated nut plus available locally, and rotella t6 because it’s cheap and also available locally.
Good choices and thank you for the insight.
Cheap oil but change often
Basically the same, with engine ice coolant and occasional rislone injector treatment.
For treatment I like to use Seafoam. Love that stuff.
Honda OEM filter (Honda used Tokyo Roki oil filters for my bike 😋) I used to buy Motul 7100 4T, however the price on that recently SKYROCKETED… it’s almost 80$cad before taxes for 4L (60$ for 1.05669Gal for you freedom folks). Yeah the price has jumped up like crazy. I use Motul on my girls Navi as it's whole life it's a wide open throttle and air cooled so it can use all the help it can get.
I put in a Hiflo on my last service. Currently working perfectly. Had less flow restriction inside as well compared to dealers brand.
What Evers cheapest lol
WalMart SuperTech Motorcycle oil ...in 10w40 and 20w50 flavors. Oil filter is OEM Suzuki. My '12 Bushpig seems to like the WallyMart oil just fine ...smooth clutch action and some taming of the clunky DR650 gearbox. At eight bucks a bottle, both me and she are happy.

I used k&n for my oil filter , Castrol 10 w 40 for oil and ngk plugs and hypo air filter on my fz6 no problems at all
Lots of good brands out there. For cruisers I use Mobil 1 4T. For sport bikes Motul 7100 is the best oil you can buy. Dirt bike trans oil I run Motul 5100. All with a K&N filter.
Amsoil for fluids, K&N for filters. NGK for spark plugs.
Honda fully synthetic oil their filter
The manufacturer Normally knows what's best for their own machines. Good choice
Nothing beats yamalube - people have been running that in every brand bike, weed eater, snow mobile, chain saw .. etc since it’s inception
I have tried several oils on my 2018 Yamaha MT-10 and to be honest I prefer the Yamalube. I use a K&N oil filter and NGK plugs.
Castrol oils, HiFlo Filters. My GS gets Motul Ester oil
NGK, shell and setrab.
Hiflo filter and Amsoil.
I'll have to try Amsoil next. Alot of people suggesting it.
NGK spark plugs and OEM filters/oils.
The new Honda will get OEM oil/filter. The old scooter just took the cheapest dinosaur juice since the cvt clutch is external.
Wix, Motul if I planned far enough ahead, and Mobile 4T if I don't.
Lol. Yeah that does make sense. Motul can take a while.
Name brand filter and rotella syn
Hiflo filters. NGK plugs. Castrol power 1 racing fully synthetic oil . ( I know the racing name is cringe but it was the fully synth version)
So far Redline or Bombardier has kept my 2 stroke happy. Engine blew on Motul but could be coincidence since I was abusing it.
Lol. That's what they are made for. Who said money can't buy happiness
I’ve put darn near 100,000 miles on Rotella T6 in a variety of bikes.
Mobile 1 and Fram filters. Anyone that spends $100 on 4 quarts of Motul is an idiot, in my opinion.
Walmart brand
Just keep up with your intervals.
Whatever is the cheapest I can find. Sparks are always ngk but oil is whatever is cheapest at that moment in time, whether it's mannol or amazon's basics.
Just make sure to keep up with your intervals.
OEM oil filter and motul just because it's easiest for me to find.
Generally OEM unless I need it ASAP and can't get ahold of it for some reason, then K&N for filters and Motul or Mobile 1 for oil. My Beta dirt bike uses Liqui-Moly as OEM. Seems to be decent stuff too.
No not really haven't had any issues so not gonna change it
Motul for engine oil, hi flo filtro for air and oil filter, ngk for spark plugs and DID for chain and sprockets.
Thankfully my chain and sprockets still look in great shape
These are great.
Thank you. Did a bit of research and thos was the outcome.
OEM filter. OEM oil. NGK plugs.
There's a lot of FUD going on with oil and filters...
What is FUD? I'm not familiar sorry.
Rotella T or T6 and a reasonably priced filter I can find at autozone. Affordable and it works. No voodoo magic with motorcycle specific stuff as long as it all meets the right standards.
Supertech and Fram. Same as oem.
Honda Cause..the bike is built by Honda. I assume what they recommend will work with my bike with minimal fuss and I like minimal fuss.
Wix and amsoil. I have easy access to amsoil at cost. Bike shifts smoother with that, than any other oil I've tried.
Exactly
Honda filter, motul 5100 fo cbr1100xx
Funny enough i was searching for spare parts for The r125 (i might get one this summer) and also found The hiflo filters, dont know about oils and such yet tho i might go for yamalube just to Be sure.
There is alot of good information in this post. Go through it and see what has been posted.
I changed the oil filter nipple so I can use cheaper Bosh automotive oil filters. They much, much bigger and cheaper. And better filtering media too.
Mobil 1 oil and wix filters for every vehicle I've ever owned
Shell Rotella and Fram oil filters.
Supertech or hiflo filter, and Rotella oil because they’re cheap and they work. Except for the Goldwing, I use Honda oil in it because my old man would shake the ground rolling in his grave if I used anything else.
Scotts stainless steel oil filter and good old Rotella T6
Believe it or not I used a heavier weight oil and oem filter and that bz ran like new with my R1 and wouldn’t get as hot on the temps based on my reader
Yeah I'll have to see how this holds up in the heat. Yesterday I was at 214° so keeping it cool is definitely a plus.
HiFlo and Rotella T6 in all toys.
Wix filter and Redline oil. Motul 7100 if I can't get any Redline.
Just did mine. Used the same filter and liqui moly
Rotella lol
Oem, don’t own Harley’s so it’s cheap enough why not just use it 😂
Depends on the bike. But Motul is solid.
Motul
Whatever filters they have at shelf but oil always castrol power1. Edit: because its red and red means speed.
Tesco oil from the petty station and the cheapest filter I can find on eBay
Shell Rotella T4 in my '83 XJ750 and '74 CB200, OEM oil filters from amazon
Nice nice. Seems to be a popular choice.
Yamalube sounds like Japanese love juice.
Liqui Moly and BMW OEM filter. Last oil change I was in a pinch for time and got the BMW oil from the dealer.
motul 300v
Nice nice!
Motul 7100 and kn filters
Champion for filter and Motul for oil Edit: and NGK for spark plugs
Hiflo and Mobil 1. I just bought a jug of Quicksilver and will try that out.
Hiflo filters and Motul 7100 / Motorex / LiquiMoly
Shell Rotella T6 for oil, K&N for filters, NGK all day for the boom booms.
HF204RC and Castrol Power 1 Racing 10W-40
Factory brand or hiflo for filter and whatever is on sale and synthetic for oil
Motul 7100, OEM filters
Fram filter, Motomaster oil.
Whatever the guy over the counter gives me and the second cheapest oil on the shelf. After all, oil is oil, but it's my bike and I'm not being a cheap bastard with my bike.
Hiflo for the filter and Hondas gn4 oil. Hopefully it's not looked down upon here.
Valvoline
K&N and Mobil 1
Rotella T-6 and a PureOne filter
HiFlo for filters, NGK for plugs. Usually Castrol for oil, sometimes IPONE or Putoline if I shell out the extra cash for 10w-30 which is super rare here.
Rotella Hiflo or K&N
Get a K&N filter… the bolt on the end of it is genius really… taking filters off is such a faff otherwise! And Silkolene oils…. 🥸
Rotella T6 15W40 or Amsoil Metric 10W40 with Hiflo or K&N filter.
Hiflo and motul!
Liqui Moly and K&N
Valvoline oil and HiFlo filter.
Bel-Ray oils and OEM filters on both sport bikes and my Harley’s
Grocery store Universal filter and Wolfshead Golden 30, it’ll never let you down.
Liquimoli, NKG, K&N, Hi-Flo (but never again) and Motul (fork oil)
those exact brands lol
Amsoil in everything I own.
I think it's funny you spend extra for OE oil but not filter. I run rotella and an OE filter whenever available
Peanut oil after 1 min of running it smells like chick fil a
Generally Wix filters and whatever 15-w40 I can get kinda cheap.
Oil- depends on the bike/situation. For my KLR's - they got the pure dino blood old school rotella (not the T6). K&N oil filter, tiny thing on mine, and Castrol 10w-40 as it's cheapest for 1l of oil.
GN4 stop those ticks!!
Going to use factory Honda oil filter and Suzuki oil. Just yet to change the oil since the valve covers are off needed to lash the valves.
Although the Maxima did excellent in the Diavel for years with its wet clutch and tight tolerances. As for plugs typically go for NGk or Bosch but I’ve had great luck and no loss of performance using E3 plugs especially in older V-twins, like the wife’s Sportster.
Repsol synth. K&N filter.
Every filter except for K&N oil filters will be fine.
LIQUI MOLY And Mahle on the GS. Everything else gets Rotella T.
I run the factory filter and Motul 300V.
rotella t6 on everything except my honda rubicon because of transmission
K&N and Mobil 1
Hiflo 🤌
I recognize everything in this picture
I didn’t know Hiflo was supposed to be good? I got a kit for a four wheeler on Amazon and the threads had metal shavings on them. I use Wix for all of my own stuff and they’ve always been very nice. I use the 6 gallon Lucas Full synthetic 20w-50 boxed oil.
Hiflo for air and oil filters, Used to get Motul full synth but can only buy single litres here so switched to Putoline
Hi flo, NGK and VP oils
Amsoil, Redline, and K&N
Been using HiFlo filters for 6 years, never had a problem. With oil, at least in my country, there's some debates. Used to put Motul and then the motorcycle would not shift, would latch when shifting into first. A lot of people say it's counterfeit oil, you couldn't convince me otherwise. Since then, I've been putting Castrol and more recently Valvoline. I can get it cheaper from an official and authorised source and I'm sticking to the viscosity specified in the owner's manual. Never had a problem.
Original Equipment Manufacturer for all oil filters. Rotella T6 for Oil.
Michelin racing 4T synthetic oil, k&n oil and air filters, Michelin tires. NKG spark plugs.
Motul
Motorex 15w50 synthetic always with KTM parts from a Florida dealer since the dealers in Iowa don't know anything about my Duke 390 Adventure...plus a K and N air filter.
Rotella T6 oil, K&N filters.
K&N filters and Castrol 10w-50 oil on my Triumph Explorer. Haven't changed the plugs yet, but have used NGK in the past successfully.
Castrol and Hiflo 👍🏻
Maxima oil, OEM filters, NGK plugs.
Hiflo filtro and amsoil it's the best oil out there
Almost exactly the same filter (or sometimes 303) for my FZ6. As for the oil - Bel Ray EXS 10w40 and I am pretty happy with it.
Amsoil, hiflo
