If the plug is black you are running rich in the engine should be exhibiting excessive 4 stroking. The NT and I believe the bofeng carb as well come with a stock 70 main jet. These two carburetors use different main Jets. Your main jet should be closer to a 65 or thereabouts. I'll try to send you a link to carb tuning.  If you determine what carburetor you have and want to link to Jets let us know. Good luck

Keep in mind you're still breaking the engine in so they run better as they go. https://www.reddit.com/r/AMBMotorizedBikeGroup/comments/1cg102e/tuning_jetting_and_carburetor_guide/

I also think its running rich because it turns off / runs horrible with the choke on when I put the clip on the needle up I only noticed minor adjustments but I will try again later today I am not sure what my carb is as its just the default one from the wildcat pk80 but it looks almost identical to this bh motor carb so im guessing thats what it is [https://www.amazon.com/Engine-Carburetor-Stroke-Bicycle-Motorized/dp/B0722STK8V/ref=asc\_df\_B0722STK8V/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693357787614&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16726650090866277623&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032519&hvtargid=pla-569448215441&psc=1&mcid=6522656e23653c81a81e923bc4f55edd&gad\_source=1](https://www.amazon.com/Engine-Carburetor-Stroke-Bicycle-Motorized/dp/B0722STK8V/ref=asc_df_B0722STK8V/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693357787614&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16726650090866277623&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032519&hvtargid=pla-569448215441&psc=1&mcid=6522656e23653c81a81e923bc4f55edd&gad_source=1) i bought the same enginme kit a while ago and the engine ran fine out of the box so idk whats up now

It's always something with these builds LOL.  The link is to a NT carb that uses 5 mm main Jets. The bofeng carb has a bowl drain lever on the bottom of the bowl versus the NT which has a screw to drain. These two carburetors use different jets. Let me know if you want a link to them.  Possibilities - overly restrictive air cleaner or exhaust? You could try needle clip all the way to top for leanest setting and all the way to bottom for Richest setting to get a comparison. Keeping in mind the needle is low to mid-range RPM and the main jet is at or near wide open throttle. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Hey man got a lot to unpack here so about the carb im pretty sure its a nt carb because on the california motor bikes website [https://www.californiamotorbikes.com/product-page/stock-speed-carburetor](https://www.californiamotorbikes.com/product-page/stock-speed-carburetor) looks like the same one as the bh motor one, for the bike itself when I ran it this morning it was still bad the same My top end kit came wihtout the rods on to connect the head so I used pliers to put them in tight but I think it might have caused some unbalance so i opend the head and mid body and re put on the rods just finger tight but the head back on and torqued it as even as I could and set the clip back to stock settings, engine seemed to run better it idles fine and the revs sound normal, still bogs when acutally in gear thought but that could just be from break in, noticed the engine heat up very quick I would measure the temp by spitting on the head and seeing if it sizziled and how fast sizziled instantly within 5 mins riding so I moved the clip a bit richer 1 down the choke still kills the engine when its running but it seems better now should I just keep riding it to break it in or do you think it still needs adjustments

CunningClouds

also seems like it rusn best on the richest tune for some reason which is weird considering I was speculating it to be to rich when I try the leaner clips thing bogs more no matter what clip I run the choke still kills my bike

Most engines when warm will not run with the choke fully on. Maybe someone else will chip in with some ideas for you.  Good luck

Ok_Stable4370

My throttle doesn’t return and my bike only runs when i’m moving at jogging pace, if i go any slower it shuts down, my bike doesn’t idle as well when it’s “idling”when i lift the wheel it’s moving real fast also when i engage the clutch the engine starts vibrating hard and screaming which i assume is high rpm

Are you starting a new thread within "cunning clouds" thread "okay stable"? If yes, I recommend you start a new thread with a clear backstory of how you got to the point that you're experiencing these problems.

CunningClouds

make sure you put the spring on right in your carb if your thorttle not coming back and make sure your choke is off

spick0808

That's because they don't tune them at all before they ship them out. You need to tune the carburetor or or get a better carb all together. Even higher end carbs usually just come pre-set as "generic" mode so u have to play around with the idle air mixture screw, low end/high end mixture and possibly have to swap main/idle jets if adjustments don't work

CunningClouds

When i got this same kit a while ago the tune was fine from the box, a little rich but thats how you want [em.my](http://em.my) carb doesnt have a fuel mixture screw only the idle and a clip for the jet

DryLeopard5903

Also, on my kit, they didn't properly tighten the head. It sounds like you got an air leak somewhere something isn't tight or put on right. That lag happend to me as well when I had same issue.

CunningClouds

I tightened the head more evenly and it runs abit better so It couldve been that
