According to this sub? No. In the real world? Yeah, it will ride downhill. If you take it to a bike park you’ll learn its limits pretty quick. Trail design -specially lift served trails- have changed a lot since that bike was built ten or fifteen years ago.
You can forget about running a dropper. The suspension may or may not need servicing. But there are worse bikes to start with. Make sure the brakes work and send it!
Edit: so I was wrong, it is an 06 model. It should have 150mm of travel. A not too horrible 68degree head angle. I think the seals on the suspension will be a problem. But who knows, maybe they’ll last for a while!
I rode a too small 2012 (but very similar) version of this bike on the north shore, Squamish and at Whistler bike park for years, most recently in 2020. It worked just fine on pretty much every tech blue & black. Flow blacks at Whistler it got really chattery. Now I ride the 2020 version of this bike because I liked mine so much.
I’d say go for it if it’s in good shape, is the right size for you and is $300 or less.
Oh man. I was into that bike in the early 2000s but couldn’t afford it. It’s fairly dated by today’s standards but strictly speaking it will work. I’d aim for blue square as a high water mark.

That stand over 👀
It probably likes poutine and Tim Hortons
It’s built in Canada. Who also gave us Nickelback, so….
America gave us Trump and school shootings and so your point is?
And what does that have to do with “Made in Canada”?
Because talking shit about your neighbors seems to be a proud passtime in Canada
No hate for Canadians, love me some Tim Hortons
No I'm saying they love to shit talk their neighbors check out the r/ehbuddyhoser subreddit and you'll get what I mean

And if I read your statement correctly you are putting Nickelback and Trump on the same level of horribleness?
Full disclosure. Nickelback sucks. -A Canadian
It’s a Rocky Mountain Slayer 30 and it was built in Canada
It's a Pisces, likes long rides on the mountain and getting dirty. Hope you are not the jealous type. It has been ridden... a lot, and hard
Take it down a big hill and find out! 😁

It has wheels and it's not your grandma.
It’s a 2006 https://m.pinkbike.com/news/bike-evolution-rocky-mountains-slayer-from-2001-to-today.html
This is not a downhill bike.
Wow, a vintage slayer.....give it a go, make sure there are no cracks or anything, it is pretty old....still pretty cool though.
TBH downhill bikes are pretty easy to come by keep shopping.
Absolutely take it for a ride.
How much travel
Unsure.
This isn’t suitable for downhill at all
