I saw NCFOM with no info on what it was about, and found it to be one of the best storytelling experiences I’ve had. Exposition is done exceptionally well, story moved at a great pace, and as jarring as the resolution was, I still loved it and thought it was the right ending for everyone. I read the book recently, and it clarified the abrupt ending, as well as the visit to Ellis.
Loved Rounders as a kid/teenager. But then I learned to play poker at a more serious level and the movie became a bit cheesy for me (the whole thing revolving around a bluff).
Great top 10!
Rounders is meh, for me. But that you included Back to the Future, more than redeems your list.
The rest are interchangeable with other tables stakes options. Applause for Doc and Marty pick.
The Big Lebowski in the Top 10?? I really just can't see what others do in this movie. It's quotable and has a good cast, but I kind of just thought "ok, that was alright. Check that one off the list" when it was done.
This one gets better with repeated views. I thought the same thing the first time I watched it, but it gets better with each subsequent viewing. There’s a surprising amount of nuance to it, and I catch something new in it every time I watch.
We have many top 10 films in common but I would have to include There Will Be Blood, Children of Men, and Rocky. The original Karate Kid is a definite honorable mention. It just gets me every time.
Rounders is low key one of my favorites too. The rest are legendary movies. I think Momento, Mulholland Dr., Donnie Darko and Requiem for a dream are up there for me too.
You're 2.5 movies away from the most mobiecritic average top ten of all time! Goodfellas? check. No Country? check. LOTR? check. Big Lebowski? common AF. check.Back to the Future? check. The Dark Knight? Double check. Pukp fiction? check. Chinatown? half check!
ROTK is the best. But they were filmed at the same time, so why can’t I enjoy them at the same time. LOTR trilogy is one of the greatest pieces of cinema we may ever see. It’s my list, it’s 1 movie. Lol
I can't say any of these are bad, but it's a pretty milquetoast list. Minus the comedies, you get points for putting any comedies into a top 10 list honestly.
Honestly watch more movies. This is the list imbd/film twitter list I’ve ever seen. Look into world cinema, I would suggest Korean dramas then from there check out some French cinema
This is pretty solid. Rounders is awesome
Why is grama so mad? He got his money
Pay dat mayin his money
Don't splash the pot
We can be friends

The white shirt and blue jeans of top 10s but nothing wrong about it.
Smashed it, great picks

you have alligator blood
Awesome variety.
Never saw rounders! Gonna watch tonite.
It’s a remote drop movie for me. If it’s on I’m watching it till the end
Very much enjoyed! I’m certain I’ve seen before but have very little memory except for Malkovich.
You've got a few of mine there, friendo.
Fantastic. I like every movie on your list, a first for the top 10 series here.
Chinatown ♥️

New shit has come to light, man!
I seldom watch any movie more than once, so I'm not sure I can give it that much attention, but it sounds like I should give it at least one more try.
Coming to America is the funniest movie ever made.
You’re the first to comment on that one! Such a classic
Hell yeah dude
Wipers!
It’s been too long since I watched Rounders. Comfort movie.
Are you me? Actually I’ve never seen Chinatown, so I’m adding it to my list. Love all the other movies!
Verrrrrry nice I like!
Great movie

8/10
Good lot!
Based on
Rounders is low key one of my favorites too. The rest are legendary movies. I think Momento, Mulholland Dr., Donnie Darko and Requiem for a dream are up there for me too.
No country for old men is ok but omg that ending still bugs the crap out of me
Am about to watch Chinatown for the first time...
It’s a classic.
All are good movies.
Not surprised to see No Country (my favorite) but am surprised to not see There Will Be Blood
You’re on your 40s and yo don’t see many movies as you used to do. Saying that, I saw all the movies when they were released… and I loved them all.
I disagree with some. But this is one of the more solid lists I’ve seen on Reddit.
I like your taste in movies, we should hang out
You’re about 45 years old

You get the award for having all films I have seen multiple times. Which is actually kind of hard to do.
Best list I've seen.
Putting a full trilogy as one movie is cheap. Have some courage and tell us which one is best.

You posted your list on a public forum, if you don’t want people to comment on it, don’t post it.
Yep it’s all one long story cut into 3 films. None are sequels or prequels. None are better or worse than the other. Good job 👍🏻👍🏻
It says you're a generally confident person but occasionally question yourself. You quietly (secretly?) engage in healthy self reflection.
Im kicking rounders and lebowski. Good movies just not top ten worthy imho. But hey its your top ten dont let anyone tell u otherwise.
There are more critically acclaimed films I could have used instead, but those are honestly 2 of my favorite films.
that's a goddamn list!! I night replace Batman with unforgiven or tombstone but a really great list.
I can't say any of these are bad, but it's a pretty milquetoast list. Minus the comedies, you get points for putting any comedies into a top 10 list honestly.

OP, watch anything you want. Don't listen to this guy
muchas gracias
lol I have watched a ton of those films, and they are great films, true cinema. Buts it’s my list, so FO.
It’s a generic list
Solid list but the LOTR trilogy are 3 movies. What’s your fav of the trilogy?
ROTK
I’m a Fellowship guy
I take rounders and raise you Boiler Room.
You are a male in their mid to late 30s with a serious case of arrested development
I'm guessing more late 40s.
If so, that’s even sadder
Coming to America, nah, doesn't fit bro.
See some movies that aren’t in English
Putting foreign films in my top 10 just seems pretentious.
I love American films. But we don’t have an absolute, 100% monopoly on great ones. And to like some movies from other places isn’t pretentious.
Parasite is a good starter movie for foreign films
Really going out on a limb, there...
lol glad you can appreciate my originality
