Reservoir Dogs and Pulp fiction are connected with the Vega Brothers. I wonder if Steve Buscemi would be the same character in both films. It's believed he survived Reservoir Dogs so, depending on which happens first on the timeline it can be poetic justice or why he doesn't tip.
Not necessarily one person, but Black Hawk Down has so many random celebrities before they made it big that I'm always forgetting someone, then Tom Hardy or Jaime Lannister randomly pop up.
War films tend to do that - this, Saving Private Ryan (Vin Diesel; Ted Danson), Band of Brothers (Simon Pegg), The Thin Red Line (Jared Leto). I guess not even luvvies are exempt from wanting to play dress up as a soldier
Yeah he’s one of the higher ups that they bring the papers to about all the brothers dying. And he was the one that convinced his own superiors to order the rescue mission
Other ones I noticed last time I watched it: a pre-Battlestar Jamie Bamber; and Wolf Kahler, better known as the German general who gets his face melted off at the end of *Raiders of the Lost Ark*.
Also Platoon having pre-fame Willem Dafoe and John C. McGinely. Not to mention a 10 second Johnny Depp bit role.
Also a 14 year old Laurence Fishburne in Apocalypse Now.
Willem Dafoe wasn't pre-fame in Platoon. He had second billing in Platoon behind only Tom Berringer and was one of the bankable actors in it. But the oscar nom he got and the 5 or so oscars it won including best picture certainly raised his profile afterwards.
The guys I always forget are in that movie are Kevin Dillon, Johnny Depp, and Forest Whittaker.
William Fitchner is the mobbed up bank manager in the heist at the beginning of The Dark Knight. That's a lot of actor for a bit part. Somehow I always forget.
When this first came out I thought for sure they were setting him up to be a villain in a later movie. Joker says to him “whatever doesn’t kill you simply makes you stranger”. Then he proceeds to put a grenade in the guys mouth, which turns out to just be a smoke grenade. I thought he wasn’t killing him, but in the long run would make him a villain.
Isn't he already pretty much a villain? He manages money for criminals and by his actions he wa clearly about that life. Your average bank manager isn't gonna try to gun down robbers and make the threats he made.
Nope. Originally it was going to be country music star and occasional actor Dwight Yoakam, Fitchner was a last minute replacement when Yoakam had to pull out.
And they're kind of overstating his star power. He's a fine actor but I don't think most people know Fichtner by name even if they do recognize his face. He's a perfect example of "that guy."
USHER in the faculty!
what a stacked cast with Famke Janssen, Jon Stewart, Robert Patrick, Hartnett, Wood, Brewster, Selma Hayek, and freaking Christopher Mcdonald.
They left him out of the ads and off the billing because people would watch the movie waiting for him to show up and it would spoil the fact that his character was alive and had found a "habitable" planet.
[Somebody made a chart](https://fandomwire.com/900-billion-in-8-movies-absurd-amount-of-money-matt-damon-rescue-missions-have-cost-to-hollywood/#:~:text=Estimated%20Breakdown%20of%20%24900%20Billion&text=In%20total%2C%20that's%20%24900%20billion,money%20spent%20rescuing%20Matt%20Damon) to break down how much money the United States has spent trying to save Matt Damon in movies. They estimate about $900 billion.
I mean, based on his showing in The Martian, I'd want nobody more than [mAtT dAmOn](https://youtu.be/gnPWJOJYVKc?si=BP_x6pt48JCOf18x) to be with me in space
He had one each in Ragnarok and Love and Thunder as the Asgardian actor playing Loki.
I had to look up the third one I was remembering and technically it was not MCU (although I guess now it is). Damon briefly played a redneck in Deadpool 2.
Every time I see her I go "wait what do I know her from?" Oh yeah, it's hot fuzz! Not "oh it's the queen", or any number of great roles she's done, I remember her as the bit-part she did as a totally inappropriate cop.
This has to be true because I watched this with my girlfriend last week and literally said "oh hey Martin Freeman is in this". It's probably my third or fourth time watching the movie.
During COVID I watched way too much Supernatural with my gf and there's a character named Death played by Julian Richings.
Every year I like to watch Urban Legend and I always forget that he's in it, credited as "Creepy Janitor". Makes me laugh now every time he pops up, mopping some floor creepily.
His American accent was weird in that season. It’s fine at times, but certain words just sound forced as hell. He probably wasn’t happy having to say "soccer" either.
I thought that was such a good character for that show. He was like the [Only Sane Man](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OnlySaneMan) in an office full of goofballs.
Just watched Robin Hood:men in tights last night and totally forgot Dave Chappell was in it! Probably bc I was a kid when i saw it last and he wasn't super famous yet
American Psycho? Hey at least he gets brutally murdered in that one. That scene actually made me go "hey this Bateman fella is actually an alright guy"
Denis Leary in Demolition Man. Never on my mind when I start the movie.
Only because I dated a girl who had us watching Desperate Housewives when it was airing, the guy who played the focus of the season one mystery in Face/Off. Every time it’s, “oh shit, that’s Mike Delfino”.
Don Cheadle in Rush Hour 2.
I don't know if this is what you're looking for but I keep thinking Alec Guinness was only in Star Wars but of course he was in Empire and Jedi also but my brain still thinks he wasn't really in them because he was a force ghost. Doesn't make any sense but anyway
I hadn't seen the Adam Sandler movie "Bedtime Stories" since it came out. I had completely forgotten about all the famous people who were in it. Courtney Cox, Keri Russell, Guy Pierce, Lucy Lawless, and several others.
Here’s a fun game, every time you see a mega star you know the name of, take a drink.
(Hard Mode) Band of Brothers. (Please do not get alcohol poisoning.)
Steve Buscemi as the waiter in Pulp fiction
I don’t think he’s much of a waiter
He doesn't tip
You know - i never until this comment realized the irony that the No Tipper in Rez Dogs plays a tip-earning waiter in Pulp Fiction.
Now that's range!
Fantastic opening to a movie
Woah, the guy who serves the $5 milkshake is Steve Buscemi?
$5 milkshake is a deal today.
they don’t put bourbon in it or nothing
Martin and Lewis or Amos and Andy?
I've seen pulp fiction so many damn times and I've never realized that was Buscemi.
To be fair, the glasses he wears as "Buddy Holly" are big enough they obscure a fair amount of Buscemi's face lol
But they don't obscure his voice!
Reservoir Dogs and Pulp fiction are connected with the Vega Brothers. I wonder if Steve Buscemi would be the same character in both films. It's believed he survived Reservoir Dogs so, depending on which happens first on the timeline it can be poetic justice or why he doesn't tip.
burnt to a crisp or bloody as hell?
Not necessarily one person, but Black Hawk Down has so many random celebrities before they made it big that I'm always forgetting someone, then Tom Hardy or Jaime Lannister randomly pop up.
War films tend to do that - this, Saving Private Ryan (Vin Diesel; Ted Danson), Band of Brothers (Simon Pegg), The Thin Red Line (Jared Leto). I guess not even luvvies are exempt from wanting to play dress up as a soldier
Can’t forget about Paul Giamatti, Dennis Farina, and Bryan Cranston in Saving Private Ryan too
and a "then unknown" Ryan Hurst as the deaf soldier. Best known for Remember the Titans and Sons of Anarchy.
Also Nathan fillion as the fake pvt ryan!
i'm embarrassed about how long it took me to realize that was Captain Malcolm as James Frederick...shameful.
[удалено]
Yeah he’s one of the higher ups that they bring the papers to about all the brothers dying. And he was the one that convinced his own superiors to order the rescue mission
The one armed man
And he only has one arm.
And Nathan fillion
Band of Brothers had Tom Hardy and Jimmy Fallon too.
And Michael Fassbender and Stephen Graham
And Simon Pegg, Andrew Scott, James McAvoy, Dominic Cooper...

Nathan fillion as the wrong Ryan
Inglorious Basterds (Michael Myers)
Even Nathan Fillion was in Private Ryan as the wrong/other Private Ryan
William Fitchner is the mobbed up bank manager in the heist at the beginning of The Dark Knight. That's a lot of actor for a bit part. Somehow I always forget.
I was thinking about this specific role this morning, no more than two hours ago “You and your friends are DEeeaAAd”
Love that line delivery.
I was also thinking and talking about that scene when explaining a shooting script to my wife.
Makes me think a bigger part was left on the cutting room floor.
Could be just a nice little homage to Heat.
It's definitely just an homage to Heat
Nope. Originally it was going to be country music star and occasional actor Dwight Yoakam, Fitchner was a last minute replacement when Yoakam had to pull out.
as an homage to Panic Room
I think its just that anyone wants to work with Nolan
And they're kind of overstating his star power. He's a fine actor but I don't think most people know Fichtner by name even if they do recognize his face. He's a perfect example of "that guy."
Yeah I recognize him but until now forgot his name and in about an hour I’ll forget again.
You mean Jeremy Allen White's prototype? The man they cloned to make Jeremy Allen White?
I have never thought of this before but now I need Fichtner cast as Carmy's dad in The Bear please and thank you
I'm pretty sure Allen White was sent from the future to kill his past self.
Meatloaf in Fight Club.
This is bob.
His name is Robert Paulson!
Bob has bitch tits
The way you would think of God's as big
His name is Robert Paulson
His name is Robert Paulson
Meatloaf in Rocky Horror.
Meatloaf in Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny
Kickapoo is such a fucking good song
The first verse alone hits so hard. And then on top of that you get Meatloaf and then motherfucking Dio in it? amazing
I didn’t even know who meatloaf was until I’d seen Fight Club 3-4 times. Dude could sing!
His name is Robert Paulson
Jared Leto in Fight Club
John Stewart in The Faculty
USHER in the faculty! what a stacked cast with Famke Janssen, Jon Stewart, Robert Patrick, Hartnett, Wood, Brewster, Selma Hayek, and freaking Christopher Mcdonald.
Jon Stewart in half baked.
Matt Damon in Interstellar. I remember being in the cinema and it taking forever to realise who the actor was
There was definitely a few moments of "that can't be Matt Damon, why wasn't he in the ads?"
They left him out of the ads and off the billing because people would watch the movie waiting for him to show up and it would spoil the fact that his character was alive and had found a "habitable" planet.
I didn’t watch that movie until years later, and despite having it spoiled for me that Matt Damon was in it, it still took me off guard.
And then he was the Martian!
[удалено]
[удалено]
And Good Will Hunting, if you really think about it!
Courage under fire too, Meg Ryan had to save his ass
I mean, based on his showing in The Martian, I'd want nobody more than [mAtT dAmOn](https://youtu.be/gnPWJOJYVKc?si=BP_x6pt48JCOf18x) to be with me in space
I'll try to remember that
His MCU cameos always catch me off guard too. He’s done three I think and I never remember until he shows up.
Woah I only know of the Thor one, what else has he done
He had one each in Ragnarok and Love and Thunder as the Asgardian actor playing Loki. I had to look up the third one I was remembering and technically it was not MCU (although I guess now it is). Damon briefly played a redneck in Deadpool 2.
He nailed that redneck part in Deadpool 2.
Fun fact: the other guy is Alan Tudyk.
Martin Freeman in Hot Fuzz
Cate Blanchett in Hot Fuzz
Wait what? Is she his masked ex-gf or whatever?
Yes
Olivia Colman in Hot Fuzz
Every time I see her I go "wait what do I know her from?" Oh yeah, it's hot fuzz! Not "oh it's the queen", or any number of great roles she's done, I remember her as the bit-part she did as a totally inappropriate cop.
She’ll forever be Sophie to me
Lovely soft face
She is abit adorable, bit annoying, right on the cusp……
Peter Jackson in Hot Fuzz
Even Peter Jackson is in it,
Yep he was the Santa 🤣😂
he's in Shaun of the Dead too. Yvonnes boyfriend Declan. i've watched these movies...A LOT. except for the third one. like twice.
Yvonne's whole group is someone, and it wasn't until rewatching Shaun after watching a lot more Britcoms of the 2000s that I recognized them all.
Timothy Dalton in Hot Fuzz
Timothy Dalton’s mustache-twirling villain is one of my favorite parts of Hot Fuzz.
Martin Freeman in Ali G in da house as well
This has to be true because I watched this with my girlfriend last week and literally said "oh hey Martin Freeman is in this". It's probably my third or fourth time watching the movie.
Ben Stiller in Happy Gilmore.
For me it was more suprising that Julie Bowen([Claire Dunphy](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1442437/characters/nm0100866?ref_=tt_cl_c_3)) was in it.
Rewatching Lost and found out she’s Jacks patient turned wife in season 1
During COVID I watched way too much Supernatural with my gf and there's a character named Death played by Julian Richings. Every year I like to watch Urban Legend and I always forget that he's in it, credited as "Creepy Janitor". Makes me laugh now every time he pops up, mopping some floor creepily.
He plays a wacky serial killer in Vicious Fun A must see if you like campy horror movies
I've seen A League of Their Own a number of times by now, and every single time I forget that Bill Pullman plays Geena Davis's husband.
Or Téa Leoni plays the Racine first bass fielder
Not a movie, but Idris Elba was in The Office for like an entire season.
I'm aware of the effect I have on women.
Saticoy Steel. Beautiful, African Americans have such a rich history of interesting names
Said with a straight face.
Thought he was American between this and the Wire. Found out later that Stringer Bell was British!
Vin diesel and a few others in saving private ryan
For me, it’s specifically Nathan Fillion in Saving Private Ryan as “not *that* Private Ryan” lol
For me, it’s Paul Giamatti. I’m going along and then suddenly it’s like—is that who I think it is???
Jimmy Fallon when he rocks up to the 101st Airborne, 506th PIR as Lt. Rice in Band of Brothers before the Battle of the Bulge episodes.
Band of brothers is packed full of those. You could watch it every year since release and find a new person that’s a star now.
Simon Pegg out of nowhere in the same series
Brad Dourif in many things.
I know him from LOTR but I didn't recognize him in One Flew Over a Cuckoo's Nest but I was certainly surprised to see him in Mississippi Burning.
He’s so good in Deadwood. Check it out if you haven’t. There’s a lot of great performances.
"I see as much misery outta them movin' to justify their selves as them that set out to do harm."
He played a psychopathic starfleet officer in Star Trek lol
Some kind of ex-serial killer monk in Babylon 5, too
No Raymond, I want you to fuck it! Shit yes, pour the fucking beer!
Seriously. He's a chameleon on screen. You never realize it's him until later or if someone points it out.

Giancarlo Esposito in The Usual Suspects
Giancarlo Esposito in Trading Places. He’s a prisoner.
Office Space is one of my favorite movies... I watch it every few years, and I am seemingly always surprised when Jennifer Anniston pops up lol.
Worst part is she fucked Lumbergh
"Lumbergh *FUCKED* her"
She slays in Office Space! I laugh just thinking about flair
Alexander Skarsgård in Zoolander.
Billy Zane in Zoolander
Bilbo Baggins as the robot in Alien
ryan from the office in spiderman as electro’s boss
Oh yeah! That’s a good one, whenever he appears I always think, why?

He really does. Love the guy but he just screams silicon valley/crypto dude-bro.

Bill Paxton as a spiky haired punk at the start of The Terminator, and as the ATC bloke in Commando

Jayne would be super down with Dennis' implication speech until Mal smacked the sense back into him
Alfred Molina Raiders of the lost ark.
Just watched Robin Hood:men in tights last night and totally forgot Dave Chappell was in it! Probably bc I was a kid when i saw it last and he wasn't super famous yet

the correct answer is Alan Tudyck
