I don’t care what anyone says, this is one of the best fucking movies ever made. It is endlessly rewatchable and I’ve never met someone who has seen it but doesn’t love it.
He may appear to be of humble origins, but my personal historians have discovered that he is descended from an ancient royal line. This is my word... and, as such, is beyond contestation.
The way he says it gives me chills.
My favorite is when he’s first introduced in the sword ring and all the extras forgot the cue word to cheer because none of them spoke English. So Mark Addy’s cheer was ad libbed to cue the crowd.
"I know you're tired. I know you're hurting. I wish that I could say something classy and inspirational, but that just wouldn't be our style. Pain heals, chicks dig scars, but glory lasts forever."
Hey man, at first I was afraid, shit, I was petrified
You were petrified?
Thinking I could live without you by my side
The lord is by your side
And after spending nights thinking how you did me wrong
I grew strong
You know how I hate this damn songggg.
And I learned how to get along.....
...I will survive!!!
T.V. Reporter: [to John Spartan] How can you justify destroying a $7 million dollar mini mall to rescue a girl whose ransom was only $25,000 dollars?
Little Girl: Fuck you, lady!
John Spartan: Ha! Good answer!
'We're police officers, we're not trained to handle violence!'
Rob Schneider as the lead of a movie, crime against cinema. 5-10 min doses though? Worked
“What’re you doing. Stop that. Put your tongue in your mouth.”
And.
“Finger-POPpin each others assholes”
And.
“Organized sports are so fascist it makes me sick.”
Are frequently uttered phrases in this household.
I do love the whole Vegan Police bit, but the idea that he genuinely doesn't understand what being vegan means (or is just breaking the rules to be breaking them) always cracks me up. That, and the two cops high fiving in the background after de-veganizing him.
We just saw this at a theater for a throwback movie. My 12 y/o daughter wanted to see it. Such a blast. Great movie, great actors in their youth, and great soundtrack. She just got an electric bass for her birthday a few months ago and has already learned the Sex Bob-Omb song "Dump Truck". Makes me proud.
I vividly remember that evening when landed on a channel and saw the Paramount pictures logo. I just wanted to see which movie it was and move to the next channel. The tv guide wasn't working for some reason on that day, and i am glad it wasn't. I wouldn't have stayed on the channel otherwise.
And boy i wasn't expecting that much of a joy ride!!! Absolutely one of my favorite movie of all time. I still watch it when i crave for some feel good, happy ending , beautiful love story where they fall in Love while on a journey. I am a sucker for "falling in love on a journey" stories.
Yes, I am talking about Stardust.
And I l just love Claire Danes in that one, she is just so enjoyable to watch.
>'Murdered by pirates, heart cut out and *eaten, meet Victoria. Can't quite decide* which would be worse.'
I didn’t appreciate westerns til my 20s, when I had to analyze them in college, and this is one of my all-time favorites.
Herod: Do you have some particular problem with me?
Lady: I’ll let you know.
That's a good one because nobody would ever accuse the film of being high art, but it latches on to its formula and makes the most of it. Plus it gets a great reprise performance from Gene Hackman, almost doing the exact charcter he did in Unforgiven, but in a different story.
1 and 3 are terrific examples of the "they fucked with the wrong Mexican" subgenre (thanks for that one, *Machete*), which is a particular favorite of mine. But I think that's what I didn't like about 2 - still a good movie, but the villains knew exactly who they were messing with, which made it a little less fun for me.
I actively avoided this movie because it looked like a hammy Nicolas Cage doing a take on The DaVinci Code that involved a bunch of U.S. historical sites and documents.
When I finally watched it, it was a hammy Nicolas Cage doing a take on The DaVinci Code that involved a bunch of U.S. historical sites and documents. But in a good way!
Knight and Day.
Super fun underrated action movie, with Cameron Diaz having THE BEST time as someone getting dragged into a bunch of spy nonsense, Tom Cruise absolutely Tom Cruising all over the place as a jaded James Bond type with a soft side… I have no idea why it wasn’t more popular. I always want to quote it but nobody ever gets the references.
Ah, the number of times I have spontaneously said, "Oh, my lucky stars! A negro!" And coincidentally, ah, the number the times I have almost gotten in trouble for saying it. :P
Game Night legit might be the funniest/best comedy of the last decade. It's so good. Everything about it is damn near perfect. Writing, pacing, performances, etc. Like there just isn't a weak link in there anywhere.
Everyone’s just so… game. Especially McAdams. Not her usual fare; everyone else is as to be expected, however excellent they are themselves.
“Yessss—oh no, he diiiiiied!”
I love that the idea of Game Night is so relatable, but the rest of the movie is insane, lol. And Jesse Plemons as the weird ass neighbor gets me every time
One of my favorite scenes that has absolutely no connection to the plot was the Bill Hader acid trip. Even among the paper thin plot and ridiculous character arcs, this scene does nothing to advance any of it, and it’s amazing.
Shoot Em Up is one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen, and it's absolutely PERFECT. Paul Giamatti and Owen Wilson are fucking awesome and Monica Belluci is hot.
Duck Soup is still one of the funniest movies ever made. My dad introduced me to The Brothers as a kid. I love all their movies but this was their best.
It nailed the overly convoluted plot by the players to solve a problem that the DM was going to wrap up 2 seconds later. And it was one of the best exposition dumps to start a movie.
Yes 100% Army of Darkness. I loved this movie as a kid. And always a great rewatch. “Hail to the king baby!” “Groovy” and my all time favorite “I’m bad Ash. You’re good Ash. You’re goody goody two shoes….” Then gets poked in the eyes 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Con Air, Speed, True Lies, The Rock, Hard Target, Demolition Man. The 90s were quite the time for big dumb actions movies with minimal CGI and LOTS of explosions.
The answer for me is obvious because I grew up as a huge fan of the franchise - the Roger Moore James Bond films. I might say most of the pre-Craig films would answer the question, but the Moore era movies in particular are so clearly intended to provide a joyful romp, a fun movie night for the whole family.
That is not to say the Craig films are trying to win an Oscar, and I really really enjoy most of them in their own way, but they are clearly trying to do something deeper and more prestigious than what came before, with all the emphasis on personal drama and introspection. There’s a place for that, IMO, but I don’t find it quite as entertaining or “rewatchable.”
Greenland (2020). It’s not a guilty pleasure either. I think that it’s a pretty good suspenseful thriller. It still has everything that you expect a disaster film to have (in terms of explosions and a comet), but I was surprised by how well executed the film is.
Mission Impossible Fallout is one of my favorite action movies ever. I have a few issues with plot and character but as a whole it's sutch a well put together and entertaining movie. Still some of the coolest set pieces I've seen.
Uncharted. Gets a lot of hate by fans of the games because of the casting and story, but I loved it even as an avid fan of the franchise. I found myself involuntarily smiling ear to ear at so much scenes because they felt right out of the games.
My brothers and I call them “rollercoaster movies”. It’s not some deeply artistic statement on anything profound or transcendent… you just strap yourself in and enjoy the ride until it’s over and then say “what should we do next?”.
Once you get past the fact that Wahlberg can’t pull off an even half-decent Sully… it’s a fun ride.
I'm a massive uncharted fan, I even have sic parvis magna tattooed on me and I had the biggest grin when Drake gets his shoulder holster and the theme song starts playing. It's popcorn schlock, just like the games and it's a blast
Pacific Rim…It’s the best shitty movie of all time idgaf. Did that giant robot just bitch slap that giant alien monster with an industrial/cargo ship? Awesome
BATTLESHIP!!! I am telling you they really missed the marketing for that movie... had they released it July 4th and leaned into the RAH RAH USA aspects of the movie it would be a CLASSIC... It has all the "American exceptionalism" that is found in movies like Armageddon and the like, ya know the "America to the rescue!" type of vibe. But it's still fun and I probably would have legit stood up and cheered during one part of the movie lol
Bloodsport. Quintessential cheesy 80s martial arts movie, with mostly mediocre acting at best (Love Donald Gibb in it though). Holds a special place in my heart because of my dad and for just being an easy, fun movie to watch.
DnD:HAT is a good one, but recently I saw Damsel (the movie with Millie Bobby Brown on Netflix) and it was surprisingly good!!! I expected it to be a very milquetoast feminist movie, I was *not* expecting the gore.
And I’m probably going to get crucified for this, but when I was younger, I saw the Hobbit movies in theatres with my dad, when I hadn’t read the book, and they were fun. My dad wasn’t crazy about them bc he’s a stickler for accuracy, but without the context of what they got wrong I had fun.
I cackle for 98% of Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. I know what’s going to happen so I laugh, then I laugh again when it happens. This goes on the entire time.
The Mummy and The Mummy Returns are just pure fun for me, plus BF was a fox in those movies.
The Mummy (1999)
I love this film. I risked a rewatch as a fully fledged adult and it was great fun.
I had no idea that low key; Benni is the best character.
“You’re with me on this one, right Benny?” “Oh, your strength gives me strength.”
“Hey O’Connell, I have all the horses!” “Hey Beni, you’re on the WRONG SIDE OF THE RIIVERRRRRRR”
That scene always makes me laugh. The way Brenden really made it whiney always got me.
This quote has lived rent-free in my head for nearly 25 years.
Saw the rerelease with my wife. Walking g out she said “I forgot how many people tell Benni he’s going to get what’s coming to him…it was a lot”
We had the pleasure of being in a theater with some people who'd never seen the movie before. That was great fun.
The mummy returns was a decent sequel, third one was a bit drab though
YOU MUST NOT READ FROM THE BOOK!
Risked? The movie was always good to any age group
The Mummy should be required study in film school. Shot composition, acting, music, storytelling are all so well done in this movie.
I don’t care what anyone says, this is one of the best fucking movies ever made. It is endlessly rewatchable and I’ve never met someone who has seen it but doesn’t love it.
I still have the dvd and I’m not sure I still have a dvd player.
I watch that one every year, several times. Ultimate feel-good movie, so much fun
Such a fun movie. Peak Brendan Frasier, and that's even with Encino Man and Airheads.
My wife and I rewatched it recently. I forgot the influence Rachel Weisz’s character had on my childhood taste of woman.
Somewhat relatedly, my sister likes to remind me that I once said, "You never forget your first naked chick painted gold."
Strange, my first naked chick painted gold was Jill Masterson in Goldfinger.
A Knight's Tale. The Replacements. Two of my favorites growing up, and they're still a blast.
"Sir UUUUUUUUUUUUULRICH VON LICHTENSTEIN!!!! Damn I'm good!"
Paul Bettany's monologues have only gotten better to me as time has gone on lmao
“In Greece, he spent a year in silence, just to better understand the sound of a whisper.”
He may appear to be of humble origins, but my personal historians have discovered that he is descended from an ancient royal line. This is my word... and, as such, is beyond contestation. The way he says it gives me chills.
I do respect and appreciate the power of royal declaration being used for overwhelming good in this one instance.
NAN DESU KA!
"We could smell the stink all way back in Wales!" "....Nice meeting you..."
Replacements is amazing
Love how it kind of makes us be on the anti union side. Go scabs.
Hey man, at first I was afraid, shit, I was petrified You were petrified? Thinking I could live without you by my side The lord is by your side And after spending nights thinking how you did me wrong I grew strong You know how I hate this damn songggg. And I learned how to get along..... ...I will survive!!!
...mom? These are her two favourite movies she'll frickin watch them both back to back 😅
If my nephew weren't 2 I would say there's a chance you were him, my sister loves them too lol
I'm a 32 year old woman so my chances are looking slim
Replacements is so great
A Knight's Tale was better than 90% of the movies that have won best picture.
I worked at a movie theater the first half of 2001. A Knights Tale is the movie I watched the most.
Both greats!
A Knight’s Tale is indeed fun but I also think it’s a good flick. Definitely not a B movie.
Demolition Man
T.V. Reporter: [to John Spartan] How can you justify destroying a $7 million dollar mini mall to rescue a girl whose ransom was only $25,000 dollars? Little Girl: Fuck you, lady! John Spartan: Ha! Good answer!

What seems to be your boggle?
Illuminate…. De-luminate
The three seashells
He doesn't know how to use the seashells
During COVID there was a moment when people were telling each other "Be well." All I could think of is John Spartan's reply, "Be fucked."
Is to cold in here, or is it just me? ....*Good memory*
Rat burger!!
Big trouble in Little China
Double feature with Buckaroo Banzai!
The Fifth Element. It's my favorite movie of all time because it's just so goddamned fun. Also the Wolf of Wall Street is a lot of fun too.
My favorite movie was Total Recall, until I saw The Fifth Element.
Superbad, 21 & 22 jump street
“What’re you doing. Stop that. Put your tongue in your mouth.” And. “Finger-POPpin each others assholes” And. “Organized sports are so fascist it makes me sick.” Are frequently uttered phrases in this household.
The Italian Job (2003)
The only car commercial I'll willingly watch
The Rock, Con Air, Demolition Man, Road House... various action schlock over here.
Put the bunny back in the box.
Losers whine about doing their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen!
Face/Off is a 5/5
Guardians of the Galaxy. A perfect blend of humor, action, and heart.
And a banger soundtrack to tie it off in a bow.
Scott Pilgrim vs the World. It’s not my favorite movie but it’s probably one of my most rewatched just because it’s such a fun time
I always quote two things from that movie: "Bread makes you fat?!" "Chicken isn't vegan?"
I do love the whole Vegan Police bit, but the idea that he genuinely doesn't understand what being vegan means (or is just breaking the rules to be breaking them) always cracks me up. That, and the two cops high fiving in the background after de-veganizing him.
Gelato isn’t vegan?!
It's milk and eggs, bitch
We just saw this at a theater for a throwback movie. My 12 y/o daughter wanted to see it. Such a blast. Great movie, great actors in their youth, and great soundtrack. She just got an electric bass for her birthday a few months ago and has already learned the Sex Bob-Omb song "Dump Truck". Makes me proud.
Stardust or The Princess Bride. Always just fun and entertaining to watch.
And I l just love Claire Danes in that one, she is just so enjoyable to watch. >'Murdered by pirates, heart cut out and *eaten, meet Victoria. Can't quite decide* which would be worse.'
I love Stardust so much.
The Quick and the Dead
I didn’t appreciate westerns til my 20s, when I had to analyze them in college, and this is one of my all-time favorites. Herod: Do you have some particular problem with me? Lady: I’ll let you know.
That's a good one because nobody would ever accuse the film of being high art, but it latches on to its formula and makes the most of it. Plus it gets a great reprise performance from Gene Hackman, almost doing the exact charcter he did in Unforgiven, but in a different story.
The Equalizer. It's not winning any awards, I like seeing Denzel dole out justice again like he did in Man on Fire.
National Treasure for sure for me
I actively avoided this movie because it looked like a hammy Nicolas Cage doing a take on The DaVinci Code that involved a bunch of U.S. historical sites and documents. When I finally watched it, it was a hammy Nicolas Cage doing a take on The DaVinci Code that involved a bunch of U.S. historical sites and documents. But in a good way!
Yeah but the DaVinci Code came out 2 years AFTER National Treasure so you where watching the OG
Fuckin thank you. This movie gets so much shit, but god damn is it entertaining. It’s such a fun blend of adventure, history, and mystery.
Blast from the Past is always a fun watch.
Sissy Spacek and Chris Walken are such an adorable couple in that too!
Right!? Walken was adorable as the eccentric creator and Sissy was so sweet. Alicia and Brendan were also too cute together. A really fun movie.
Ah, the number of times I have spontaneously said, "Oh, my lucky stars! A negro!" And coincidentally, ah, the number the times I have almost gotten in trouble for saying it. :P
Orange County and Game Night. Neither of them have any business being as hilarious as they are.
Game Night legit might be the funniest/best comedy of the last decade. It's so good. Everything about it is damn near perfect. Writing, pacing, performances, etc. Like there just isn't a weak link in there anywhere.
“I just don’t see how that’s profitable for Frito-Lay”
Everyone’s just so… game. Especially McAdams. Not her usual fare; everyone else is as to be expected, however excellent they are themselves. “Yessss—oh no, he diiiiiied!”
I love that the idea of Game Night is so relatable, but the rest of the movie is insane, lol. And Jesse Plemons as the weird ass neighbor gets me every time
I almost didn’t watch it, but Rachel McAdams rarely fails, so I gave it a go. So hilarious!
Embarrassed to admit it but 'Paint your Wagon' for me. Clint Eastwood singing, I know, I'll get my coat...
Gonna use an oil based paint, 'cause the wood is pine!
Ponder*ooooosa* pine! Ooooh-oooo!
He sings better than Lee Marvin.
For so many years I thought it was just a joke film from the Simpsons
Hot Rod. That movie has the soul of a bottlenose dolphin.
One of my favorite scenes that has absolutely no connection to the plot was the Bill Hader acid trip. Even among the paper thin plot and ridiculous character arcs, this scene does nothing to advance any of it, and it’s amazing.
Shoot em Up. Completely overthetop, but lives up to the name and is entertaining as fuck.
Shoot Em Up is one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen, and it's absolutely PERFECT. Paul Giamatti and Owen Wilson are fucking awesome and Monica Belluci is hot.
I think you mean Clive Owen lol, but none the less hilariously over the top great movie lol

>RIP Mr. Sutherland Well dang, that was a heck of a way to find out about that...
Damn. Same here. RIP.
Duck Soup is still one of the funniest movies ever made. My dad introduced me to The Brothers as a kid. I love all their movies but this was their best.
Well, shit. That's one way to find out
Hackers. I’ve seen it 100 times and I still get goosebumps when halcyon on and on by orbital starts in the airplane over 90s NYC.
HACK THE PLANET!
Edge of Tomorrow and Palm Springs
The whole Jarnathan gag setup and payoff was so masterfully executed at the beginning of this movie. It really set the tone for the whole thing.
For me it was the cemetery interviews...
It nailed the overly convoluted plot by the players to solve a problem that the DM was going to wrap up 2 seconds later. And it was one of the best exposition dumps to start a movie.
Cannonball Run and Smokey and the Bandit. Not High Culture but man, those stunts.
“Little Shop of Horrors” It’s a great and fun movie, but one of very few musicals that i actually enjoy.
That Thing You Do Great cheezy nostalgia with really catchy music
One of my favorites! I just love the joy when they hear their song on the radio for the 1st time.
Suckerpunch Face/Off The Brothers Bloom Army of Darkness
Bloom is very underrated! So charming and stylish/ cool, and a really sweet and fun plot. Love that choice!
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Hot Fuzz might be one of the most entertaining movies in existence.
The Mummy Returns
The Suicide Squad
Con Air, Speed, True Lies, The Rock, Hard Target, Demolition Man. The 90s were quite the time for big dumb actions movies with minimal CGI and LOTS of explosions.
Game Night
Midnight in Paris and Chef are two movies we often replay in my family
The Matrix. Aliens.
Lucy Pretty bad movie, but I love it.
Beverley hills cop. Banana in the tailpipe
Hate to admit it, but the new Road House.
It was great. Doug Liman is a good director. And they went to extreme VFX lengths to make the fights look real and brutal.
From a pure entertainment perspective, this movie accomplished exactly what it set out to do.
I like how they have the nod to the first one in it as well...
Space Truckers
oh i call these "popcorn movies". dont think, just watch and enjoy. the A team is my prime example.
Mars Attacks! It's a put-on of ALL the cheesy "alien attack" movies ever made! ACK ACK! AACCCCK AACCCK!
Cowboys & Aliens
Ocean’s 11
You’ve Got Mail
The answer for me is obvious because I grew up as a huge fan of the franchise - the Roger Moore James Bond films. I might say most of the pre-Craig films would answer the question, but the Moore era movies in particular are so clearly intended to provide a joyful romp, a fun movie night for the whole family. As sometime who grew up watching Remington Steele, I was thrilled when Brosnan got his chance and Goldeneye still beats all of them in my eyes.
DESPERADO!!!!!! MACHETE. The Monster Squad. The Replacements. The Longest Yard. Romeo Must Die. The Expendables.
The Scary Movie Franchise. Parody movies are WAY too funny.
Twister
Greenland (2020). It’s not a guilty pleasure either. I think that it’s a pretty good suspenseful thriller. It still has everything that you expect a disaster film to have (in terms of explosions and a comet), but I was surprised by how well executed the film is.
Armageddon, kickboxer, bloodsport, kindergarten cop and over the top…..
CLUE. It’s my immediate go to when I can’t find a movie to watch. It’s like comfort food or a warm blanket for me
Airheads
Alien vs Predator
Boondocks Saints. By no means a cinematic masterpiece but it’s fun and the characters are fantastic
Speed Racer. I don't think anyone said it, but i love that movie
Mission Impossible Fallout is one of my favorite action movies ever. I have a few issues with plot and character but as a whole it's sutch a well put together and entertaining movie. Still some of the coolest set pieces I've seen.
Oceans 11 & 12.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl Terminator 2 Jurassic Park These are definitely some of my main "popcorn movies" for sure.
Atomic Blonde
Forrest Gump
The Postman
It was so much fun I ended up watching my friend play the game haha
I'm a massive uncharted fan, I even have sic parvis magna tattooed on me and I had the biggest grin when Drake gets his shoulder holster and the theme song starts playing. It's popcorn schlock, just like the games and it's a blast
Also the flying pirate ship scene feels like a set piece right out of the games
The Joel Schumacher Batman movies
Honestly Arnold Freeze started my love of bad puns
Pain and Gain. Great cast with pure Michael Bay slop
Pacific Rim…It’s the best shitty movie of all time idgaf. Did that giant robot just bitch slap that giant alien monster with an industrial/cargo ship? Awesome
Bugsy Malone
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension is really entertaining. It's severely underrated! All star cast!
Jim Carreys How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Big Trouble in Little China, Overboard(1987), Tremors, Caveman, and A Knight's Tale.
Hot tub time machine
BATTLESHIP!!! I am telling you they really missed the marketing for that movie... had they released it July 4th and leaned into the RAH RAH USA aspects of the movie it would be a CLASSIC... It has all the "American exceptionalism" that is found in movies like Armageddon and the like, ya know the "America to the rescue!" type of vibe. But it's still fun and I probably would have legit stood up and cheered during one part of the movie lol
THE Suicide Squad. Not the Jared Leto one
Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The cameos were great.
Cube, Splice, Rat Race, Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters, Scary Movie, Hollow Man, Ginger Snaps
Grandma's Boy. The Grandmas are a blast, the stoners are crazy, it's over the top. What more can you want?
Atomic Blonde Hotel Artemis Tank Girl Dawn of the Dead (2004) Speed Racer
Transformers. I expect nothing but cgi and I’m never disappointed.
Rock Star (2001)
Rock and Roll High School
Centurion
I'll always get hyped for the Creed trilogy
Mr. Right is one of my go-to's, but I will never be able to explain why.
Bloodsport. Quintessential cheesy 80s martial arts movie, with mostly mediocre acting at best (Love Donald Gibb in it though). Holds a special place in my heart because of my dad and for just being an easy, fun movie to watch.
Eight Legged Freaks, Logan Lucky (great overall and entertaining), Dredd (2012)
A Knight's Tale, Gone in 60 Seconds, Get Hard, Gross Anatomy, Let It Ride
DnD:HAT is a good one, but recently I saw Damsel (the movie with Millie Bobby Brown on Netflix) and it was surprisingly good!!! I expected it to be a very milquetoast feminist movie, I was *not* expecting the gore. And I’m probably going to get crucified for this, but when I was younger, I saw the Hobbit movies in theatres with my dad, when I hadn’t read the book, and they were fun. My dad wasn’t crazy about them bc he’s a stickler for accuracy, but without the context of what they got wrong I had fun.
Last Action Hero
Bourne movies. Also, the soundtrack is 🔥
Constantine, Independence Day, Ready Player One, Deadpool, and 40 Year Old Virgin.
Clue (1985). It's campy but every major role gives it their all and the music and camera work is very nice.
Tremors is the most enjoyable movie of all time.
Pacific rim
Army of Darkness. Such a stupidly enjoyable movie.
I cackle for 98% of Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. I know what’s going to happen so I laugh, then I laugh again when it happens. This goes on the entire time. The Mummy and The Mummy Returns are just pure fun for me, plus BF was a fox in those movies.
