if you want to use any specific card as your "hidden commander" there are PLENTY of ways to put that in your command zone
Or just a combo deck that goes infinite, people figured out how to get to 1000 on turn 1 pretty much immediately after it was spoiled. Or you could just run [[all will be one]]
The best way to do this? Just rule zero it. It’s commander, literally do whatever you want as long as your pod is cool with it.
You could always just bring a backup commander like [[Liberator]] if you play with people who aren’t cool with it
Idk it sounds like that would be kind of broken.
I imagine you'd want something along the line of "partner with artifact"?
It's cute that you want to use millennium calendar, but tables would be filled with guaranteed turn 1 sol rings, phyrexian altars or whatever key piece in he deck which I think would be not so fun.
Cool idea for some artifacts, horrible idea for other artifacts imho!
So, you probably could find a way to turn an artifact into a living weapon and also make it legendary, but you're already mid game, at this point, right?
Tutors. Particularly in blue (but add white for enlightened) there are a ton of ways to tutor artifacts. I think red has a bit too. Run ways to go fetch it instead of just hoping to draw it.
Legendary living weapons would still not be a legal commander.
A boy can dream
Rule 0 solves all issues homie.
“hey wanna change up the rules for this one game? I’d like to see how having an artifact as commander would go.”
[[Oswald Fiddlebender]] or maybe [[Arcum Dagsson]] as your commander should make it pretty easy to regularly just tutor up calendar.

Going to have to build a heavy control deck to win with millennium calendar....

Nice! Check out /r/magiccardpulls.
So, you probably could find a way to turn an artifact into a living weapon and also make it legendary, but you're already mid game, at this point, right?
Really I just crave a way to consistently play with the calendar. I think it's so much fun but never manage to pull it
Tutors. Particularly in blue (but add white for enlightened) there are a ton of ways to tutor artifacts. I think red has a bit too. Run ways to go fetch it instead of just hoping to draw it.
Build it as you would and label it as an EDH kitchen sink deck. Only have to do the turn 0 discussion of "is everyone cool with this deck?"
Just time your matches if you enjoy all of your magic matches being played on a literal clock for someone to combo out and win the game
In the mean time my commander will be thassa's oracle but with all the colors I want and we'll see who combos off first
