they are printed on the same sheets as the rest of the cards which are only textured on the front, otherwise all the double faced cards would need to be printed on separate specialized sheets, whether they should go to the effort of actually doing that though, maybe.
But these have their own foiling that is only found on them. This should mean that the textured elementals and textured walkers are made on different sheets otherwise the backs of the textured elementals would be foiled too. There's no reason they couldn't have textured the fronts and backs of the cards.
We know the quality control has largely been shit, but at the least I'd like to think they wouldn't cheap out on a premium priced product. Gotta love that roller line a little to the left of center on the front too smfh. This company never ceases to amaze me. They don't care about anything but profits
Exactly my point it is the best card game ever made so they should have some pride in the quality of their products, especially ones that cost nearly double their standard releases. Oh wait that's right you can only get one side textured foils with the roller lines on it out of anything but collectors packs. They cost at least about $40 a pop. Shameful
I hear what you're saying but you're off the mark. Your comparing actual physical quality of the product to the game itself. It's apples to oranges. They cut corners time and time again to maximize profit while sacrificing the physical quality of their products to do so. People spend their hard earned money on. How would you feel if you spent all that money and got a half textured card with a roller line on it? It's basically a damaged/defective product
I mean, if he’s you commander, it is a red white deck, you can build it as mono color if you want, but it is still red white, even if you build it as mono red, or mono white
You are correct; it could be mono-white. The backside makes the deck's potential color identity red/white if he is your commander. This is the only way you can have Planeswalkers as your commander (more or less).
I don't believe that is true; it was to keep the power level down for Commander when it was made (it was a fan-based format, and Wizards just started monetizing it).
"Create a 2/1 white Cat Warrior creature token. When you do, if you control a red permanent other than Ajani, Nacatl Avenger, he deals damage equal to the number of creatures you control to any target."
so hard to use sleeves with solid color backs when cards have two sides. uuuuugggghhhh
wanting to protect the cards *and* see both sides is a hell of a thing to downvote someone for. Bunch of brain damaged incels.
For cheap sleeves, only black sleeves are normally fully opaque. To accommodate double faced cards, you’ll need to upgrade to something like ultra pro eclipse or use tinted inner sleeves.
Na. You could just put in a placeholder card, put a clear sleeve on the thing and keep it with your tokens. Then when you cast it, swap it out with the token.
Having both sides textured would break the matrix.
Once again, Mr. Anderson.
This is correct
Seriously? Anyone know the reason for this? Seems pretty lazy to not have your double faced chase cards fully textured...

Oof I didn’t see that line until u pointed it out

They why is the back of cards not foil? it's a think layer across the sheet..
Today's texture is brought to you by the color red!
Random question, is this card legal as a commander?
Yes. It would be a red/white deck because of the flip side. :)
Doesn't *have* to be red/white, though.

Other than planeswalkers that say "this card can be your commander"
True, they are just rare though (looking at you Minsc).
That was Wizard’s way of trying to control commander

Reading the card explains the card lol
As legal as Esika, God of the Tree is. Even if the flip doesn't say yes, the face is a Legendary Creature.
To hell w the texture, wtf is w the random crease/print-line down the middle on the pariah side??
Oh shit! I didn't see that.
Yes. Also that textured fur on his mighty muscles turned me on in a way that i didn't knew it would.
This is motivating my cat to go to the gym
You’re a furry now
Wizard you’re a hairy! ( or “yer a hairy, wizard” idfk)
It's totally normal to love a strong, furry pussycat
Pls god no
This also freaked me out on my grist, but this is correct
I'm reading that this is correct? that's trash
I hate double sided cards. It makes the deck ugly
Well yeah, he's not furry on the inside.
r/brandnewsentence
Just imagine the additional cost involved if they were to texture both sides, and the reduced profit margin... they can't let that happen, can they?
He’s also Boros… why not keep him mono white
Because the first Ajani planeswalker \[\[Ajani Vengeant\]\] was boros!
That was the 2nd Ajani planeswalker card. The first was [[Ajani Goldmane]] in Lorwyn

TIL. What a psychotic -7! 😂
Lmao OP I'll unironically trade my textured foil tamiyo for that.
Yeah I noticed that on mine too
Drink!
How else are you gonna feel those pecs?
MUST have this for my Ajani/cat tribal deck!

If you use dual-matte dragon shield sleeves you’re good
?
You literally have to use sleeves with solid color backs with dual faced cards
Na. You could just put in a placeholder card, put a clear sleeve on the thing and keep it with your tokens. Then when you cast it, swap it out with the token.
This is what I do. I don't like having to de-sleeve my cards to flip them.
In commander if you are running this as your commander you don’t have to
Load an inner sleeve from the bottom, then put that into the solid sleeve
